This wasn’t too bad, although the quality of the writing isn’t great. I also couldn’t find the plot for the life of me. The smut wasn’t too bad either. Would’ve DNF’ed if it wasn’t for the audiobook. Definitely enjoyed this more than Neon Gods, but still looking for a Hades x Persephone retelling I really love.

Yeah, so I once saw this in the YA section in a bookshop and it definitely shouldn’t have been there 🫢😂

I knew this might be a bit sordid but I did not know it would be Hades x Persephone meets Fifty Shades 🙈 I don’t think I’d have gotten through it without the audiobook. This was fun to check out but definitely not something I’d enjoy reading regularly. It was quite funny at times and also some of the smut made me cringe and gasp in shock, so I had a few good laughs for sure 🤭 for an extra fun experience I’d recommend listening to the audiobook in a public space (like on a train, like I did). There’s nothing quite like the feeling of knowing everyone around you is oblivious to the fact you’re listening to absolute filth 😂

I guess I’m not the target audience for this so I feel a little bad rating it 2.5 stars, but I can’t rate it higher if I’m being honest. It isn’t so much that the smut scenes were too explicit for my tastes but the sensational aspect of it was just *not my thing* 😬 if voyeurism is your kink, this is the book for you 👌🏼at least I’ve discovered it isn’t mine 😂

This isn’t completely porn without plot. I actually quite enjoyed Hades’ character and the two of them falling for each other. 

I enjoyed this SO MUCH! This book made me laugh out loud countless times and the male lead is romance-novel-level swoonworthy 👌🏼

The only reason I’m not giving this 5 stars is because even though there was so much potential for good spicy scenes, I’m sad to report we didn’t really get any 😢 The build-up was great but I wanted more pay-off. I’m definitely not someone who needs explicitly written smut scenes to enjoy a romance novel, but I do enjoy some good spice (I am however  quite particular about what I do and don’t like spice-wise). I feel like Julia Whelan would’ve been great at writing the kind of spice I enjoy but she sadly chose not to.

Still, apart from that one complaint, this was such a good book. Great characters and just the right amount of heartbreak. Pro-tip to listen to the audiobook because 1) this book is about audiobook narrators so really how could you not? And 2) male lead has an Irish accent 👌🏼

Love it when the sequel is actually better than the first book 👌🏼 

Such a lovely conclusion to this duology. I really fell in love with the characters.
