Hilarious and heartbreaking at the same time.

Enjoyed this more than the first one. There were more twists and turns and some of them very unexpected. I’m still not feeling the chemistry between Avery and Jameson. I just don’t care about the two of them together. If I can’t feel it, it must not be written very well right? Or is it just me being salty? idk 🤷🏻‍♀️ Is Jameson supposed to be sexy and mysterious? I mostly found him annoying. Grayson is more interesting, even though his ice cold exterior makes it very hard for any personality to shine through. I enjoyed seeing a little bit of his armor chip away at times. 

Really enjoyed Max as the comic relief this book and I also wish we got more of Libby and Nash. I’m so rooting for them to get together! I’m worried it’s going to happen off screen though, because they’re side characters 😔 I would totally read a spin-off about them. Bonus chapter pretty please? 🙊

My conclusion about this series so far is that Jennifer Lynn Barnes is good at writing mysteries, but her characters leave a lot to be desired. Would love to see some more depth to them in the final book.

I did love that we finally got some chapters from Conrad’s POV, this emoji describes my feelings towards him best: 🥹

This wasn’t a great book, but it did make me cry, so yeah, 4 stars it is 😂 the audiobook made the whole reading experience a lot better, the actors from the primevideo series do the voices and they’re so good! 

Also, Conrad’s letters at the end? ugh 🥺👌🏼 so cute

These books are such an easy read, love it. Conrad is still up to his old shenanigans, stringing Belly along. Which is SO annoying but also I’m still rooting for him? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I loved that we got chapters from Jeremiah’s POV. I’m a sucker for a doomed unrequited love 👌🏼 really hope there will be some chapters from Conrad’s POV in the next book 🤞🏼

This was cute but kinda all over the place plotwise. Think I would’ve enjoyed it more if I’d read it in one sitting. Still, I liked it. Certain characters’ behaviours were very unrealistic though. Like, men just aren’t like this in real life okay? Right? Show me men that are actually like this 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also, I discovered I do NOT have a praise kink 🫢

The spice was not my cup of tea, I just don’t particularly enjoy the endless praising. It felt like the guy was talking to a child (or a pet) 😬 cringe

This was cute, more similar to the adaptation than I would’ve expected. Definitely reading the sequels because I’m curious to see where Belly and Conrad’s relationship is going. Would love to see some more character development from both of them. 

Going into this I was warned this was “very YA” and that Belly was annoying and immature. Guess what? She’s a teenager and honestly, Conrad was the annoying one. Also, yes, this is very YA, but if you go into it with that in mind and don’t expect anything else it’s not bad 🤷🏻‍♀️ 

I feel so stupid I didn’t see the plot twists coming, but here we are 🙈 

Very excited to see more of Castian in the sequel, we hardly got any time with him 😢
