Blame It on The Mistletoe by Beth Garrod was a cute Christmas romance. I found the romance between the characters to be sweet. I really liked the friendship that Elle and Holly made with each other. Holly was definitely the friend that Elle needed in her life. I really enjoyed how Elle and Holly's moms had been friends growing up. The way the story about what happened with Elle's other social media account wasn't hard to guess, but did take a few twists that were not so obvious. This book is sweet and defiantly belongs on your Christmas romance reading list.
The Guest List by Lucy Foley had quite the backdrop. The Gothic feel of the island and mansion plus the stormy weather give this book a dark setting in which to try and unearth the motive behind the death. I had trouble in the beginning of this book because of all the different view points. This also could be because I didn't really relate to many of the characters. I also didn't like that we don't find out who was murdered until near the very end of the book. I don't think it would have take away from the story if that had been revealed earlier. The motives shown from each of the different perspectives really has the reader guessing who could it have been. I'll admit I was not prepared for the murderer reveal. I was surprised who it was!
Reclaimed, the second book in the Shadow Realm trilogy, by Jaymin Eve continued to deliver on the page devouring chemistry between Shadow and Mera as well as provide a dark and mysterious supernatural world. All the characters in this series are so interesting and I keep wanting to stay in the book and learn more about them. I enjoyed that Angel came along on the journey into the Shadow Realm. At the end of the book, I was left with lots of questions that will hopefully be revealed in the final installment.
I don’t normally like cliff hanger endings, and this one is a doozy. However, I am more okay with this one because Jaymin Eve isn’t leaving us hanging for long. The next book will be out this March! The way that the Supernatural world is explored and discussed makes me feel like I could be a part of this world. I’m enthralled with this story and the second book was filled with plenty of action, intrigue, tension, and plot twists that I didn’t expect.
