Mistletoe-ing The Line by Jenna Hartley is a quick, angsty romance that I devoured. I loved the push and pull between Justin and Brie. The holiday festivities create a romantic backdrop while these to explore what a relationship could be between the two of them.

The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner, was an interesting read. The story surrounding an apothecary serial killer, was intriguing and I kept wanting to know more about Nelle and Eliza’s stories. However, I struggled with the actions/motivations of some of the characters. It felt like they occasionally did something that just didn’t mesh with the picture that had been painted of them previously. I also felt like sometimes sections of the book were more wordy than they needed to be. Overall, the plot and mystery surrounding the apothecary story keep me reading and wanting to see what happened.

The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen is a heartwarming story about finding the people who lift you up and overcoming grief with family and friends. Every time I read this story I am reminded of why I fell in love with romances, because of this story. I love watching Macy come out of her shell as she hangs out with her friends from Wish catering. The way that Macy, her sister, and mother all deal with the loss of their father/husband is something that I feel like many people can relate to. Grief is expressed in so many different ways and these three work to find a way to connect with each other in their shared trauma. I appreciated the slow mutual friendship that leads to crush level intimacy between Macy and Wes. I think Wes is definitely the book boyfriend that all I set many other book friends against. He "bad boy" past, tattoo, artist talent, and loyal and caring nature are defiantly my cat nip. The Truth About Forever will forever be my favorite gate-way book into romance!

With A Twist by Staci Hart was a fun friends-to-lovers tale. I enjoyed how Lily and West were such good friends and you see how much they loved each other, but were blind to it themselves in the beginning. I liked the elements of Lily and West’s jobs and how that played into their conflicts. I had such a pleasurable time reading With A Twist!

Drive Your Plow Over The Bones of the Dead by Olga Tokarczuk is an interesting and vibey read. The way the descriptions are written you feel like a fly on the wall watching what is unfolding. The way the story is written is like a stream of consciousness from Janina's point of view. The humor peppered throughout the book was well placed and had me giggling. While it makes sense for the story to not include more backstory around Oddball, I really wanted it. What was up with him and his son Black Coat? What was his past like? I appreciated all the little clues dropped throughout the book, that really only linked together at the end. Overall, I truly enjoyed Drive Your Plow Over The Bones of The Dead.

Reactivated: Aidan is the action packed, heart melting finale to the Project Phoenix series by Charissa Gracyk. The way that Kennedy can push Aidan's buttons created some awesome chemistry for our last Blue Squadron Pirate. The intimate scenes between Aidan and Kennedy were steamy! I loved them together! The final battle between our boys, Dunn and Goodard was full of action suspense, and explosions. My personal struggles are wanting to see more of Aidan's powers and his hitman side. Aidan and Kennedy delivered a captivating end to the series for me!

Dazzled By You by Charissa Gracyk was the most action packed Fortune Seeker book to date. Ash and Haven end up in some very intense situations searching for La Buse's pirate treasure and I couldn't pull myself away. I had to see how they would solve their predicaments. Ash and Haven are so hot together and their intimate scenes were uber steamy!

Reactivated: Deacon by Charissa Gracyk was a super action packed, suspenseful romance! The situations that Deacon, Adrian, Adri and everyone find themselves in were intense and kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. I loved getting to see cameos of the Slater Security team in action helping out the Project Phoenix crew. I also enjoyed how we saw a softer side to Deacon when he interacted with Duke and Adri. The childhood flashbacks with Deacon and Adri allowed for some emotional moments between those two. The nefariousness of Dr. Phineas Dunn is ramped up and I can't wait to see how it is resolved in Adrian's story.

P.S. I'm freaking excited about Aidan's story. He' s been a favorite of mine for a while and the POV scenes of his in this book, have me totally hooked. I love a good hitman romance, and we learn that Aidan is a hitman for the government. Swoon!

A Million Sparks by Charissa Gracyk was filled with steamy romantic tension, adventure, pirate treasure, and a fun couple. I loved how Riley and Bishop got on each other's nerves but were also able to compliment each other's weaknesses. The banter between these two was so good! Their intimate scenes were probably the steamiest of the fortune seeker's couples. I really enjoyed how Riley had to seek out Dylan and Hollis's help and the other interactions between the rest of the fortune seeker's couples during this story. A Million Sparks was lots of sexy fun and I didn't want to set it down.

Reactivated: Max by Charissa Gracyk was an action packed and steamy continuation of the Project Phoenix series. Max's protectiveness for Shay was the perfect amount of alpha-ness to make me swoon hard for him. I loved Shay's independence and her drive to get things accomplished. And OMG that ocean scene was hot!! I can't wait to see what happens with Project Phoenix and which women will bring the romance to the last few Blue Squadron guys!
