I normally love YA fiction, but I could just not get into this one. Not sure what it was. Just wasn't my my thing. It's well written and has an intriguing storyline, I just couldnt get into it

Loved this book. Recent historical fiction with wonderfully deep and developed characters flawed and growing as all of us humans are. Takes places in the Philadelphia suburbs, which I always get a kick out of a book being based near where I live.

Also, having Tom Hanks do the narration isn't too shabby either.

Two of my favorite detectives in a cross-over novel. Picking up loose ends from the JP Beaumont series and tying a couple off in the world of Joanna Brady. Well-crafted and solid detective mystery

A beautifully told novel following the life of a gay Irish man who is raised by adoptive parents - and all the joys and tragedies that life brings. It follows his life as people orbit around him across decades. I was hooked from the beginning til the end.

This book is 3rd of a series but like the other two, it stands completely on its own. This novel takes place in Civil War time weaving between the stories of 3 main women and the many people that oevot around them: a Black slave, a white plantation owner, and a Northern white abolitionist. Tragedy, betrayal, rescues, and feminism abound.

An excellent double mystery - one current day, and one from the past. Entertaining, easy read. I enjoy Mary Kay Andrew's books.

Strong female characters, pushing societal norms, feminism and some witch craft mixed all tied together with historical fiction - this is a neat glimpse into NY and English society in the late 1800s.

Interestingly, this book takes place in a similar time period and similar locations as "The Address" by Fiona Davis - both have some scenes set at The Dakota in NYC and Blackwell's Island. Though the stories themselves are quite different, it's neat that they happen to be connected and I read both books in the last couple months.

I immediately got into the story. I could see it translating well to a movie screen, too. Although it was a tiny bit predictable in the end, I loved the whole process and listened to this book almost straight through. Sometimes you just need an obvious book that doesn't make you try to hard. This was that for me.

An excellent sci-fi space novel. It's kind of a cross between "The Martian" and "We are Legion (We are Bob)". You need to suspend disbelief a few times but as long as you like geeking out of detailed explanations and science/engineering heros, you'll enjoy this.
