It was interesting being pulled back into the late 80s when AIDS was so misunderstood and feared, homosexuality wasn't accepted, and children had so much more freedom.
At times I was frustrated with June, the main character, at times disappointed, at times impressed, at times proud. This was an interesting look at a young girl, at a very emotional and challenging time.
I enjoyed it. I recommend.

Really enjoyed this book. Easy read but also kept me in a consistent state of not wanting to put it down.
The audio book included a nice interview with the author at the end. I'll have to look for more books by her.

This was better on my 2nd attempt. It's a little slow to start, and you need to be paying attention for all the mystery back story. Would have given it 4 stars had I not given up on it 9 months ago. Glad I tried it again though.
Starts a bit slow, but glad I stuck to it. Interesting story of a female spy in WWII . Particularly interesting after having just finished the J. Robert Oppenheimer biography about his life and his role in the atomic bomb.
Really enjoyed this book. Historical fiction with a strong emphasis on historical accuracy told through diary entries and flash-forwards to present day. I listened to this as an audio book, and it was a rare treat to have the author herself narrate the book.
I love Lisa Scottoline, and I really wanted to love this, but I didn't. I just couldn't get into it.
This is the kind of book that you'll either connect with and love or you won't and it just isn't for you. Hopefully you fall into the former camp, unlike me.
