dark reflective tense

Beautiful writing and harrowing topic. The fact that Atwood thought of this world in the 80s just based on what she was seeing around her at the time is a testament to how aware women are of their worst fears being possible. The world today feels like so many steps closer to the world of Gilead and the worst part is that it was voted for rather than forced. Feels like a warning for what could be if we don't stand up for ourselves.
challenging reflective

very interesting to read in the form of a letter from Baldwin, it felt so personal. there was a lot of religion talk that I struggled to get through but it was really interesting to learn about.
adventurous informative reflective

soooo interesting, i loved this journalistic but still narrative telling of a man who walked into the woods one day and didn't speak to another human for almost 30 years. I can only wish to be as connected to nature as this man was
emotional reflective

I loved that she showed the good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly, the real stuff. Our relationships with our moms are never perfect but we love them regardless. This made me want to go hug my mom and the food aspect made me want to try so many new foods.

i loved learning about the history and sociology behind language around women and the lgbtq community! I've already found myself noticing many of the things amanda discussed in this book in my everyday conversations.

my favorite Emily Henry yet. I loved the new girl vibe and references, especially because Nick and Jess are my fav. the end didn't hold up as well as the beginning (I always hate a third act breakup) but it didn't ruin them for me. I ate this up in 2 days I was having so much fun.

I actually think I liked this one better than the first as far as character development! the romance had me giggling and kicking my feet, I cared much more about the characters and I feel like they all had strong development and arcs in this book.
