I am biased in my review. I already knew a lot of the (interesting parts of the) story. And I'm not really into True Crime novels. BUT, if you are, I think this is a good one. The story was told completely and honestly, I believe. It was well written and displayed the facts.

Very Romeo & Juliet. Been there, done that and saw the movie, twice.

Could have been a good book but it was just too hard to read. Too much future jargon that I couldn't keep up with. I could see life being the way the author was painting it... The way communication is today I could definitely see people walking around with tablets everywhere and using those to talk instead of having a face to face conversation. Interesting...

A really interesting book about America's obsession with happiness. Being happy. Convincing yourself and others that you're happy and how it's actually having the opposite effect.

Definitely not a fun read. But very comprehensive and unbiased writing. I hate give it five stars for being "so good" due to the subject matter alone, but it was a really interesting read. As always, the media got it all wrong then, as it continues to do now. And as always, it comes back to the mental health system and the inadequate assistance that's out there for those in need. This is not a story about gun control and lack there of because these two kids found away around the law, somewhat legally too.

It took me over a month to read it because it was just so emotionally heavy. I was a freshman in High School when it happened, I remember seeing the new coverage, I remember how going to school after that changed. I remember the "bomb threats". I remember thinking, gee aren't we supposed to be safe in school. And now 17 years later, as an adult, and a parent it's hard because I send my kids off to school while in the back of my mind hoping they make it back home at the end of their day. As they grow up I hope they can come to me when life feels too hard, because I can't imagine them doing anything as unspeakable as this tragedy.

I feel for all those students, that community and the shooter's parents. I almost feel for the shooters themselves because they were sick kids that needed help and just never got it.

Total head trip that asks the question, would you do your life differently if you could.

A-MAZING! A must read considering the current climate between police and the African-American community. Very real.

A LOT of filler. I think the book overall could have done without all the extra stuff thrown in but it's a complicated topic for the author to talk about. And I thought she didn't a respectable job telling the story of an accomplished African American woman.

Nothing exciting if you have some sense about you but still a good laugh.
