I love Antoni, and enjoyed the recipes I tried from his first cookbook. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. The recipes in here looked delicious. I tried the Polish Banh Mi, the Chicken with Grapes and Rosemary, and the Miso Soup with Soba Noodles and Greens. All were amazing! There are so many more I want to try. Will post full review with pictures soon!

This was a fun book! Romances where there’s history are always cute, especially a childhood crush finding their way back to you.

I don’t think I totally understood this collection of poetry. There is nuance that I know went over my head. But I really loved reading it.

I enjoyed To Love Jason Thorn and this shifts the focus to Olive’s best friend Lucy. I love reading books where you already have some idea what the characters are like without it just being an extension of the previous story. The pacing towards the end of the book felt like a lot at once but otherwise it’s really hard not to fall for a protective and loving father and his super cute five year old son.

Really beautiful prose in this collection. This is the first I’ve read of this author and I intend to read more!

This probably seems obvious but I don’t know how else to describe it. This is the most poetic memoir I’ve ever read. Maybe it’s the breaks within each chapter. Maybe it’s the altering between poetry and not poetry. Or maybe it’s just the incredible writing and prose that Joy Harjo is capable of, but I feel like a flew through this memoir like no other.

This is such an incredible book. A little over 100 pages, Davis is succinct in the points she makes. There is no rambling without end like some non fiction books tend to do. I learned so much in these 115 pages I can’t even begin to explain. My understanding isn’t just focused on abolition or alternatives to prison now. I feel like I have a deeper more informed understanding of the history of punishment, how and why we punish people and how those views have persisted over time. Can’t recommend it enough.

I picked this up to have a little book club with my niece and I can see why she loves it! The graphics novel format makes it easier to get into the adventure story with an alternate world. I imagine it’s a great way to help kids get into fantasy stories without feeling like they are overwhelmed by new words or descriptions for things they’ve never seen before.

Classic romcom. Short sweet. Enjoyable read! Conor is a dream and all the characters are likable, lovable even. I immediately dove into book too because I was excited for Aiden & Courtney.
