After reading this book I literally screamed, "FUCK YOU!" and then proceeded to bawl my eyes out.

I will fistfight T.J. Klune in a Target parking lot do NOT test me!

Reflecting back on it, I think this book hit me at such a strange time. I watched the TV series adaption first, so my expectations for the book were... weirdly high? I liked the book just fine. I thought the writing was witty and entertaining. And even though I didn't like the witch character and the children as much as our two main characters, they didn't annoy me that badly. But there's something about it that just left me... wanting... and I don't know what it is.

Honestly, I think even now I would read a whole book of just Crowley/Aziraphale misadventures.

If anything were to happen to Nobody “Bod” Owens, I would kill everyone on this planet and then myself.

I went into this book with high expectations because a friend of mine really likes this series. I finished it in one day and I have to say I wasn't altogether excited about it. I wasn't invested in the story or the characters. I'll give the second book a try and if I don't like that one, I'll just drop the series.

2021 Reflection: this book is not that great. Why did I cap for it so hard when I read it the first time?

I won't even type out wtf I wrote about this book in my journal for the sake of everyone on this site. Straight mental illness.

Monty is chaotic in all the right ways and I will take no slander against him. Even though he walked in more privilege than Felicity and Percy, his backstory with his father really put things into perspective for me and made me not hate him.

Percy is so great and I really liked that the author incorporated him as a black, disabled man in a way that didn't feel disrespectful and didn't overshadow his own character development.

The commentary about race, gender, and sexuality was well done in my opinion. No real complaints. Enjoyable read.
