Started off really entertaining and then...blah...
Again, this book starts off with a cool psycho android on the loose. Amazo (Dumb name) is kicking all the Justice League's ass. He has the power of them all and can adapt to almost any situation. So even when some of the members seem to have the advantage he quickly tricks them and fucks them up. Then another part of the story is Vex trying to figure out her powers. Going into the red...and less said the better.
Good: The fight with Amazo is fun old school justice league feel. The characters all have a moment to shine and Black Canary has one of the best moments so far (you wanna hear a secret?). I also thought the whole Red Tornado subplot was interesting.
Bad: The whole second half of this book is boring and a pain to get through. Boring dialog, Vex isn't interesting, and Buddy is so lame here compared to other books I've read. Also the ending is a huge fucking cop out. Fuck that.
Overall another less than stellar Justice League adventure. I wish this run was better. It started off so good but falling into mediocrity fast. A 2 out of 5.

This is probably the best volume in awhile.
So Kei is trying to figure out what he wants. He met a new woman on his last hunt named Reika who is a famous Celebrity. She has a huge crush on him and asks him to go on a date of sorts. When the news breaks out from people taking pictures his current girlfriend Tae gets upset and pissed. Then Kei trying to figure out what to do to make it better but gets sucked into another hunt. However, there's a second hunt after the first and this time the target is...TAE!!!!
Good: This amps up the drama but it works really well. It gives us a more mature, more conflicted Kei, and that's always nice. The fights work well and they feel like a team now wiping out these monsters like they should. The ending is nail biting and betrayal from all sides keep this one interesting and by the end you want more.
Bad: Kei is still a dumbass at times and his choices of what he does with his current relationship is so...weird.
Overall this is great. The fights are interesting, the drama is well done, and the ending sets up some great new ideas. A overall blast of a volume. 4 out of 5.

New X-Men: Childhood's End, Vol. 3: Nimrod
Craig Kyle, Craig Kyle, Paco Medina, Christopher Yost
Another solid volume in a darker X-Men tale than most.
So the new kids on the block had it rough last few weeks. You know with crazy religious pieces of shit coming into the mansion and gunning down kids. So now the avengers stop by to help but Emma shows them how bad it truly was. The New X-Men also feel hurt, damaged, not being able to find their way. However when a android creature similar to Ultron (Sorry never heard of him) comes into play and starts going after the kids they must work together to survive!
Good: The dialog has gotten better and better. I love when the kids all work as a team and really start kicking ass. The fights work even if a little samey from every issue they are fun. Also how badass was that moment where a certain mutant gets his powers unlocks and turns into a fucking super saiyan? Badass.
Bad: The villain here wasn't really that interesting for me. Also the side story with the fallen X-men and him going evil was kind of whatevas. Also, I'm all for ladies in thongs and such but anyone else feel a bit weird seeing 15-16 year olds with clothes barely clothed? Ah fuck it, comics.
Overall this was a ton of fun. Plenty of action. Darker than usual but it was still enjoyable. A good conclusion to this three part arc! A 3 out of 5.

Man I think more woman in this series are portrayed as prostitutes than not lol.
So this is about a new guy in the sin city universe called Dwight and he, just like Marv, aren't very good people. However, when a old lover comes to visit Dwight telling him terrible things are happening to her he decides to help her despite knowing better. IN doing so the twist and turns the characters make ends up in a bloody hell of a time.
Good: I enjoyed Dwight as a character, foolish but not completely dumb. I also enjoyed the first half a lot. Built up pace and the fighting really well. The ending too was satisfying and so far it's 2 for 2 on good endings.
Bad: The woman in this series seem either placed for plot points or just always slutty or downright shitty. I guess so are the men but man oh man, need a little inbetween on these. Also the art style still isn't to my liking. It's hard to tell what's happening sometimes even.
Overall another solid entry into this series. I've been enjoying them as a good "gritty" style fun. Not as high quality as say Criminal but good old fashion crime fun. A 3 out of 5.

Well this was a new take on Superboy. Sadly, like most Lobdell New52 stuff, this isn't very good.
So Superboy is, if you don't know, a clone of Superman. He is half human as well which makes him a different type of creature. However, the big change here is he has telekinesis too (I don't believe the original did). So after N.o.w.h.e.r.e. the company that made Superboy is in shambles after his break out a person called "Red" tries to control the young man. The next few issues are basically Superboy going around the DC universe finding his calling.
Good: The art is pretty solid. I also thought some moments with superboy were interesting if not very out of character. I give it leeway just because it's a new take.
Bad: The storyline jumps ALL over the place because it's doing two crossovers. His meeting with Supergirl makes no sense. His relationship with Rose is very odd. The idea of him being mostly a dickhead is annoying. Also the ending should have gotten me hyped but instead made me not want to read volume 2 right away.
Overall this was meh. It's not horrid but so many issues, dialog, pacing, story, made it kind of a forgettable experience. I might try volume 2 just to see if it improves but if not after that I'll probably drop this one.

I REALLY enjoyed this series.
So the story picks up where the last left off. Another death of a child turns the camp into a frenzy. When people start fighting for power we know all is lost. Lucas, the person I felt had no remorse, is actually somewhat symptomatic here. Despite his crazy ideas and such he actually cares about the other kids for the most part. He's also so much smarter than most of them so when he watches it all fall apart you'd think he run, but no he sticks with them, just because this is the only way. The ending of volume 2 was gut-wrenching for some people and everything comes full circle by the end here.
Good: The tension keeps building and building. You can feel it, every time another character meets, and by the end it explodes. It's not a big end all fight it's a sad, whimper, death all around type of ending. The very ending is also a lol fuck you moment that I enjoyed.
Bad: I still don't love the art.
Overall this was really damn good. I liked it almost as much as volume 2 and I really dug 2. So 1-2-3 all together make up a really fun, well paced, and terrifying little graphic novel. A easy 4 out of 5.

Ms. Marvel has always been pretty enjoyable and this collection is no different.
So this volume starts off with Loki up to no good. I mean is he really ever? No. Let's be real. Next arc is Kamala meeting another Inhuman, around the same age as her, and growing feelings for him. Of course it's cute and lovely but you know that shit ain't going to last. DOES IT EVER? We in High School people! Then the last arc is I guess a teaser to another series called "SHIELD" and as Kamala as one of the main characters in that issue.
Good: The art is still great, as always. The dialog is fun and bouncy and always easy to get in to. Reminds me of early days Ultimate Spider-man. I also enjoyed Kamala exploring deeper feelings for someone and finding love, even if it's short lived.
Bad: Both the opening and ending seem out of place and boring one shots. Loki's especially was silly but the ending one was boring and I'd never want to read that series.
overall this was a fun volume but very short and with only 3 good issues I can't give it more than 3 stars for those good issues. Hopefully next collection is better.

The death of the Ghouls starts something new.
After the events of last volume Kankei is trying to figure out what to do. He learns to balance his life as a ghoul and pretend to be human he must master that. He also learns what the Ghouls in this section of the city do to protect themselves and not have the government hunt them. This volume really focuses on the bigger world building parts and giving some in-look on how it all works. There's also a major death that helps build up character in new ways and give them a reason to fear or love them.
Good: The art is working out better now and the fights are looking cleaner. This volume also contains good plot advancements for the overall picture and really loving the investigation team Doves and how they work. A good villain to the ghouls. Also my girl is always kicking ass and has a great fight scene here.
Bad: It's a slower building chapter with lots of parts so it feels like Kankei doesn't grow much. I know this happens later (Due to watching the anime) but I can see people getting frustrated with his views on the world.
Overall another really great volume. My favorite part of Tokyo Ghoul has always been the world and it's interesting section break up and outlook on Ghouls and Humans and how different we are yet so alike. A 3.5 out of 5.

Holy Batman this shit sucks. I had to go and check out my Redhood and the Outlaws Rebirth volume 1 copy to make sure this is the same writer.
So take Teen Titans but make almost all of them completely unlikable. Then got that N.O.W.H.E.R.E. organization from Superboy comic after them. And this is where Superboy comes into play as well when he wrecks the titans. The Titans here all must unite and become a team or otherwise they will die!
Good: Uhhh some decent art?
Bad: Tim is so out of character it hurts. Wonder Kid or whatever is so over the top and silly. Bart is more annoying than funny. Superboy comes off so different than his OWN comic which is written by the same person it makes no sense. Nothing adds any value to these characters.
Dull plotting, bad characters, slow paced, and...yeah this is a major skip. Why did I start reading this? I don't know.

Ah the art got better, woot woot!
So this one starts off more exciting than the last for me. Basically The X-Force are sent on a mission to retrieve a virus. While warpath faces off against a...bear? Yeah like a gigantic spirit bear. Listen, this is the X-men universe, get with it. With the X-Force team all working together and a new member, Domino, joining them, will they be able to successfully get the virus back or will it be too late?
Good: I enjoyed the chemistry between the characters. They're all starting to come together. I especially thought Wolverine was funny in this one. The fights are also a lot easier to follow so more exciting here. Also how badass was that X-23 moment? Yeah you know that moment.
Bad: Uh...Warpath...what the fuck was that? Everything with him, the past, all that was just...can I say dull? it was very very dull. It took a little too much time in this book.
With a upgrade in art, the fights being better, and the team coming together i'm starting to dig this a little more. A 3.5 out of 5.
