Well the good news is this was better than volume 1-2 of New52. The bad news? It's still messy.

Scott Lobdell decides to fully embrace the New52 assholish superman. He's a lot more hard headed, lot more violent, a lot more "I don't give a fucky fuck" style. So if anything got that entertaining superman. The story is about a new Kryptonian coming to earth because, well that always has to be the villain. Then when he reveals his plan to resurrect their old home it comes with the price. You've seen transformers right? Any of them? SO you know what will happen. Superboy and Superman team up against him but the evil Kryptonian has a helper, SUPERGIRL! Not the regular supergirl, new52 supergirl, who is rash and bitchy and whiny.

Good: Some of the fights are entertaining and BIG and BOMBASTIC. I also enjoyed the Lex Luthor part and the dialog between him and Superboy/Superman. Also Superboy wasn't half bad, maybe I need to check out that series.

Bad: The art sometimes looked really bad or the faces ugly. The dialog can be awful, especially with Clark and Lois. Supergirl acted way over the top and makes no sense to her true character. Things just jump all over and HUGE missing chunks of storyline are out of here. So sometimes things happen and you're like "How did he get that suit?" or "Why did they change their mind?" with very very little explaining...

Overall this was a very meh read. I didn't hate it like volume 1-2 but it's not good. I can't believe the big jump in quality that Rebirth delivers compared to this shit. a 2 out of 5.

Geez this comic really is just filled with okayness...Well it's better than volume 1 and 2 but not by much.

So the Titans have a bad guy/girl within their ranks. How do we know? The bad evil bald headed telepath tells them. Oh noes who can it be. On top of that the family drama begins. Love relationships start, betrayal of the heart, you know the typical young teen romance stuff, except with adults, though Roy acts like a child. Then the betrayer is revealed but are they really bad? DUM DUM DUM!

Good: The art has improved. Well kind of. Some moments are really cool, and the interior covers for each issue are wonderful. I also enjoyed some of the nightwing moments and even Flash had a few great moments in here.

Bad: Holy hell what the fuck was that "bad guy is not bad because he's one of us and family is family" nick toons early morning tv show type shit? Also the fights are uninspiring to say the least. The villains are once again forgettable as can be. The characters barely feel like characters but more like Abnett is writing young people like he sees on TV instead of real life. The dialog is once again just averaging between shit and okay.

Overall this is easily Dan's weakest book I read. I'm starting to lose total faith in this series. I love most of the characters but not how they're written here. Titans continues to be a mess of a book only giving us a few brief moments of goodness in-between the garbage it usually spews. A 2 out of 5.

Holy shit I actually liked a Bryan Hitch Justice League. This is...a strange day indeed.

Justice League Legacy is all about the future grandkids of our favorite justice league members. So when Wonder Woman, Flash's kids, Jessica's and more! It's a family reunion with the younger versions of their parents. But the "Darkness" is coming to kill them all! Because we couldn't just focus on character development we have to have a big threat. This is the Justice League after all!

Good: The art is halfway decent here. Some cool shots. The moments with the kids and their parents can be really touching. Even cyborg has a moment to shine. The best is really Jessica's and Barry's kids. Also some tender moments with Clark to show how much of a great guy he really is.

Bad: The story itself with the "darkness" coming is cliche and boring as always. The big threat is just a "reflection' storyline but not all that well done. Also some of the action is soooo big it's really hard to follow.

Overall this was a fun little story mostly due to the tender moments with the kids. The actual main story was nothing special but for the kids alone and their interaction I'll give it a 3 star but it's around a 2.5. Still better than ANY previous Justice League volume in rebirth.

Good old coming of age story with a super powerful badass teenager and a quick talking assholish kindish boyfriend. Let's go!

So Madison, the main star of the series, has some extremely badass powers. Her eyes light up and she becomes super strong and fucks up shit. Then we have Duncan who is basically a sly asshole nerdy dude who decides to one day stand up to bullies. When he does Madison shows off her powers. They begin to connect and one day he makes a mixtape for her. After that she goes to visit him and in the middle of him getting attacked by his father she comes in and ends that. Then they run away, hence they can never go home.

Good: The dialog can be pretty sharp at times, and well done, and you feel Madison and Duncan relationship grow. The art is pretty solid too and mostly easy to follow. The first half of the story feels like a coming of age type story with a lot more death than usual and high stakes. The runaway feel is very interesting.

Bad: The second half becomes a "bigger" story by adding big government agency stuff, secret organizations, and it just didn't gel with the first. I also thought the humor was hit or miss, sometimes solid, sometimes cringe worthy. It's a little jumpy too and shaky in terms of pacing.

Overall this was solid stuff. It's not amazing but very solid and fun read. Some awesome ideas and it's sweet to see the start off Matt's career and already seeing how far he's gotten in just a little time. A 3 out of 5.

Probably the weakest entry tus far. After the insane fucked up last volume we slow things down for a bit before a lot of people start dying.

So the crazy insane murderer has gotten his way. He is now in the Gantz room with just about everyone else he killed. They don't know it's him though due to him wearing a black face in the previous volume. So now he's on the hunt, loving the feel of almost dying, every chance he gets he murderers. The other people in the room like usual have no clue what to do. Kei must now protect himself with his suit verses...dinosaurs? What!?

Good: I enjoyed some of the fights in here, easier to follow and epic. I also thought the end of the mass murdering was satisfying but then he came right back. Also the new girl is super cute.

Bad: It felt rushed, pacing really off, dinos are stupid in this, and transform into big muscle dinos...what? The Villain of this story isn't very interesting and honestly really boring and nothing particularly happened in this volume that made me excited.

By far the worst volume so far. I wish I could give it higher but nope. I'll still continue though because this series has it's ups and downs.

This was slightly better than last volume but still Dinos are not my thing in this series.

So it's cool to do the whole cliche "if you put your mind to it you can do anything" mindset but really the way Kei was able to face off against a T-rex without any powers was a little insane. Anyway Kei is the center of attention here as he shows the group how to face off against these monsters. This time Kei decides to work as a group and soon he learns teamwork may be the key in winning in Gantz afterall.

Good: The action is crazy insane in this. It moves at a neckbreaking pace that has characters dying and fighting all the time. There's less bullshit naked fanservice and a lot more focus on plot and fighting which is a nice change of pace. Also the ending is exciting.

Bad: The story plot is pretty much all fighting so if looking for dialog it's not to be found here. Also the Dinos are mindless and not all that interesting. I want actual creatures that scare me.

Overall still the weakest arc in the series but least the fights were cool here. A 3 out of 5.

This was a step down from the last volume.

So Thor is under investigation. Certain agents of shield believe Jane is Thor. Oh no! Yes her identity up until now was supposed to be a secret from everybody. We also have two side stories here. One about the history of the hammer and another about Thor's younger days as a viking. This all leads to what I assume is going to be a all out war between all the realms.

Good: The art is still great. Thor as a character is still fun and charming. I enjoyed the middle section a lot and there's ton of great banter in here. The fights are also really damn well done and exciting. This artist is amazing.

Bad: The backstories both bored me. I was not a fan of young viking thor as it lead to nothing. I also thought the hammer story wasn't well drawn and again didn't find it very interesting. I really don't find much without Jane-thor as interesting.

Overall this was okay but could have been better. Still reading it for the art alone though, amazing! 2.5/5

This might be my favorite volume yet.

So Gog from Kingdom Comes timeline passed down his mantel to Mogog and he is the start of the revolution for the heroes in there. Superman remembers that and when Gog shows up in the current timeline he tells them he must be stopped. However, soon Gog is reborn, and is a god himself. A thousand foot creature begins to roam the earth but not attacking, more like healing, and stopping war. However, the gifts he begins to give people may not be what they seem.

Good: The way this idea of a god roaming our world is very interesting. If one day wake up and a god begins to walk around healing people what would you do? The heroes of the justice society and justice league both come face to face with him to try and find out his true nature. However, all seems normal. It's a interesting concept and one I really enjoy. I also like the side stories with Damage and what happens with him, some amazing moments like the society getting attacked, and the older members going insane on Gog when their young ones are hurt. I also loved Power Girls arc and what happens to her.

Bad: I liked Damage arc though the whole "trying to get laid" thing now is kind of meh.

Overall this was fantastic and interesting look at god-like beings walking the earth. I can't wait to finish up the final arc here and hope it remains as interesting as it started. A 4.5 out of 5.

This was kind of a cool mix of what if and current mainline.

So Superman is roaming the city on a Akira like bike with a badass new suit on. All normal right? This must be a what if? He doesn't even believe he has powers. Then one day he is chased by some crazy people and uses his powers, afraid of his own self now. Layla, his wife in this "universe" worries about him and tries to help. However the longer and longer the story goes on we start seeing huge surprises and betrayals until Superman returns to his home where one final battle will go on.

Good: I actually enjoyed the art even if it reminds me of the 90's tropes a lot (big boobed woman barely clothed, super huge muscle bound guys) but it flowed well and the design on clothes kicked ass. I also thought the fights were epic in a lot of ways and looked great. Some good messages about hope and belief in systems.

Bad: It's a bit jarring and weird. The storyline is confusing if you don't understand the superman mythos. As much as it wants to be a stand alone you'll be kind of confused what is happening in this book.

I thought this was fun. Nothing mind blowing and Joe Kelly has written better for sure...but still it was enjoyable. A 2.5-3/5.

Another bombastic volume of crazy deaths and insane mysterious popping up.

This was a better volume than the last for sure. This one had the end of the dino arc (thank god) and moved on to the next portion of the story. So after we finish the Dinos some new guys show up and they are THE MEN IN BLACK! Oh sorry...I mean Vampires. Yes, you heard me right. The vampires have arrived and our Gantz warriors are in trouble.

Good: The vampires are a interesting dynamic here. Also having it that Akira, Kei's brother, as part of the vampire crew is a neat idea. Will bring in some real stakes (No pun intended) and great family dynamics. The ending where the crazy dude who murdered a bunch of people goes to war with the vampires and that was badass.

Bad: The dino stuff was boring and still had a few chapters in here with them. I also thought that having so many people survive was very very un-gantz like haha.

This was a entertaining bridge volume from one saga to the next. I'm really excited to see what the future brings. A 3 out of 5.
