Uhhh so my wife asked me what this is about.

My answer? Has lots of monsters, blood, and tits.

I really don't know what happened here. Don't get me wrong it's not bad at all. I just was confused a lot of the time. Strange shit just kept happening every single page. The demons or aliens or whatever they are were full on exorcist on your ass scary. "Fuck your little cunt face" and stuff like that. Scary for sure. Also the dialog stayed entertaining throughout. Never once did I feel bored.

I also enjoyed the art a lot. Very cool designs on a lot of the monsters and everyone has their own look that helps. The violence is shown here in full and it doesn't hold back. You will also see some boobs, but who the fuck doesn't like boobs? Maybe disgusting monster tits you'll look away but fear not, you can do it!

The only negative is I still have very little idea what the fuck was happening. I liked it, but I don't know what the heck was happening a lot of the time. But it's mystery made me come back for more. Volume 2 on order right now!

It's more inline with a 3.5 but I'ma bump it up to a 4 because I LOVED the art.

This is a coming of age story that focuses on one summer and one girl's point of view. As you progress you can see how her life isn't as simple as it seems. It becomes really sad as it goes on but that's life. You take the sad with the good. The bad with the happy. So it balances itself out.

Forewarned this has a ton of cursing but I actually loved it. it seems like actual kids/teenagers talking. I hate when the kids don't curse, because kids DO curse, even if you parents don't know about it. Sorry to tell ya.

I also loved the talks of sex and want, and the start of love, and the repercussions. There's so many good things to take a look at here. Even more so it's a female's views. I know boy's views, I grew up as one (haha) but I'm not a women and I don't get to see that point of view. Now I get a glimpse and it's entertaining if not tragic at times. Least this storyline.

I'd recommend this one to anyone who enjoys coming of age stories. It does a pretty solid job!

Well this is my first offical "Red Hood" title. I skipped New52 cause heard it was shit on shit. I still got to read "Under The Red Hood" even if I've seen the movie. So what did I think? Pretty fun!

There's two things I didn't like. Jason can be pretty annoying. He talks a lot, and usually has nothing really interesting to say. He's just a big old talker and his little quips aren't as fun as I want them. Also everyone coming together feels a little forced.

However the fight against black mask is fun, the outlaws are great (I love Bizzaro) and the art is solid. The ending, even cheesy, is still entertaining and holds a lot of hope for the future. I just hope this series keeps up. With Lobdell there you never know. Keep our fingers crossed!

I didn't love this volume despite some big jumps in story.

Okay I think I just felt a little "bored" reading this one? Maybe because the begining effects are starting to feel off but Nailbiter just isn't capturing with moments like it did in the first few volumes. I especially didn't like Crane in this volume and she's usually my favorite character. Also the Hack/Slash crossover felt pointless, even when it did connect back to the main story.

However I liked getting the reveal of who was behind the black mask. I also loved seeing Alice finally make advancements in her story and she's becoming more interesting. The ending leaves it up to finally face off against the "master" soon and that does get me excited.

Overall a decent volume but nothing amazing. I had higher hopes for this one. Still a 2.5-3/5 though.

Well hey, this wasn't half bad.

I had never read a Aqauman solo title before. I keep hearing to read Jeff's run and I plan on it but till then I decided to check this one out. At first i was unsure, the Rebirth issue was just "Meh" but the rest of the volume stayed pretty interesting.

I really enjoyed the interaction with Aquaman and the "land-dwellers" which made for interesting reflection of today's society of "trust" and "image" based on reports and news. People are scared of Aquaman. Don't trust him. It's mostly thanks to the reports about him when really he's just trying to be a badass king and hope that America gets that. The back and forth conversations, the political side of it, and the end result are all pretty good.

The start of it is okay at best. The first two issues are really just one big fight scene with Aquaman and Mantis. it starts off fun enough but honestly seen it before, done it better. It's just okay here and the whole time I kept thinking this start could be better. Yes, the end of the battle leads to interesting paths for both hero and villain but the start could have had more of a punch.

Overall I quite enjoyed my time with this volume. Not love, but enjoyed, and that's a surprise for me. This and Red Hood are the two surprise reads for me in enjoyment. I will check out volume 2!

Again, does anyone know what in the fuck is happening here?

Again, I'm intrigued.

So I bought volume 3-4 right after on amazon for 4 bucks a piece.

So Morning glories decides to go deeper into individual stories here. Without spoiling it gets a nice look at all the kids. See their hidden feelings and view points. Some more fucked up than others. I also really liked the issue with the rich spoiled piece of shit. Didn't love Jun's story, his was just okay at best.

The art remains solid throughout though still sometimes people look really odd with their faces. I can't seem to get over it. But I do love the overall design of a lot of characters.

So as confusing as volume 1, yet somehow I'm still eager to read more. I can see that fading down the line but right now I'm ALL in. Bring it on baby!

Wally slowly becoming my favorite Flash. I really dug Jay from Earth 2 but now I'm just really getting into Wally's life. I mean to be fair he's had like 20 years of growing up and that's great, but you really get to know him in John's run.

So this book has a lot of great individual stories. The best ones being Captain Cold's origins, new the new rogues, and Jay telling Wally what's happening to his wife. All emotional scenes, a few surprises that made me go "Whoa" and get to see the beginning of zoom. All in all a lot of exciting things building up in this one.

I really am 50/50 on the art. It's solid in some parts, sometimes feel dated or stiff, other times just amazed. I also have a issue with exposition sometimes, a little TOO much with John at times but when he gets the dialog rolling it does turn in his favor.

If you want a far more interesting Flash than Barry I'd suggest reading this run. It's proving to be very entertaining. Can't wait to read Volume 3 now.

I wonder if Bendis watched Deadwood before writing this and went "Man, I bet I can outmatch their "fuck" output" because holy hell, if one more character says fuck I might lose my mind. I LOVE THE WORD FUCK BUT DAMN!

Example:
Jessica: Fuck fuck fuck how are you?
Scott Lang: I'm doing good, how the fuck you doing?
Luke Cage: Fuck man, don't fucking do that to fucking me...shit.

Like damn.

Okay that's my one negative but it's annoying enough to mention. The rest of this is fantastic and a great read. This volume is basically one big case with a almost too happy ending, but one that Jessica deserved. The case in this one is basically a girl goes missing. By each person Jessica goes to the truth is reveal. Who is who? Where is the girl? We see a lot of backwards thinking, where a pastor actually says mutants are an abomination. I always loved the fact Mutants are just a tag word for gays/other races and makes the speech Jessica gives even more powerful. Especially living here in Florida I deal with it all the time sadly.

Jessica is mature storytelling for sure. Not cause of all the fucks and shits, but mostly because the characters feel like they're talking to adults. Not children. And it keeps me engaged the entire time. I'm even enjoying the art now!

A very very solid 4/5 and hoping this keeps up.

Man I do not want this to end. It's so f'ing good.

So Jessica comes home one day to meet Mattie who is this girl dressed up in a Spider-man costume (with itty bitty tits as Jessica says) and just jumps out of a window and is gone. Jessica gets down to finding out who she is and what's happening and it's truly fucking sad and interesting throughout. I read this in two sitting one I could have read it in one. It never misses a beat.

Ant-man (Scott Lang) and Jessica relationship is the only thing that feels odd here at times. There dialog is the only one not to feel natural for me. Maybe I'm just too use to Luke and Jessica to really let it flow but I just didn't love their moments. THe ending was sweet to a otherwise depressing chapter but I couldn't get behind the fight with them.

Saying that this is as good as volume 1 and 2 if not slightly better and flowed nearly perfect in mystery and emotion. I truly will miss this series and could see why Bendis was so highly regarded back in the day.

Well shit, I loved this series.

So this is the origin story. I think sadly I was spoiled by the TV show on Purple man. Getting a reallllll good look into his mind, who he is, broken, and a screwed up piece of shit. This purple man is far more...dark. As in he gives even less of a fucks (if that's possible) about the human life. It truly is remarkable what the TV show did, and it made me not love purple man in here as much (love to hate. Not love him as a good guy, cause he's not, he's a fucking asshole)

So you get a big background feel for Jessica from kid to teen to adult. I thought it was well told for most part. Felt a little rushed at parts but it hit all the emotional parts. The Peter part was the best and made me die laughing. Then we get to the showdown, or meet, with Purple Man. It's both scary, and screwed up, but feels like it gets resolved so quickly. In one issue really. I wish we had a few issues of it.

The ending was really fucking sad for Antman and Jessica. However the very ending actually gives hope. Not I gotta go and read Pulse.

Overall this is dark in it's own way. I think if you love the TV show (like I do) you'll enjoy this volume a lot as well. Another 4/5!
