Kingpin comes in, which makes it more exciting, but the art felt really off here, almost stiff like.

Art makes this a real struggle to read. Cool backup tho.

3 vs 3 baby! This is a real fun match. Basically has the "King" trying to prove he still the king but maybe he has to be pushed into the deep end. Not the "king" anymore, makes him evolve into something more, something more sinister. Great art, fun match, and excited to see who gets chosen next volume!

Joseph is a vampire.

In the mean streets of NYC. Where the rats, bums, and low life losers live. I should know, I grew up in NYC not too far from where he's talking about.

But on a serious note these Vampires are not nice. They don't charm and live in luxury mansions. They don't dress nice. In fact they have to charm you just to lead you somewhere to bite you just to get their blood intake. And Joseph, our main protagonist, is much more of a survivalist than a fighter. Wanting to be with his gang of vampires in the underground tunnels of NYC. Okay with life like that...except when something new shows up it might not be as easy to survive.

This is a dark, dirty, occasionally nasty story with some actually funny moments sprinkled due to the lead character's humor. I listened audible and thanks to the author being the one to voice it, you get a real sense of how the characters sounded in his head, and his work is great. The side cast is all interesting though slightly underdeveloped at times (You'll see why) and there's more questions than answers at times, even at the end.

However, I really did dig the majority of this book. The middle to the end is fantastic, with lots of "oh shit" moments. The villains, if want to call them that since everyone is pretty shitty, are horrifying and they do a good job of selling them.

This is a 4 out of 5 for me.

This is easily my second favorite arc in the entire series. Almost caught up to where I stopped reading YEARS ago. But the return of Griffith is SO good. The little showdown with Guts, his takeover and new army, his new "band" of hawks is all SO fucking good. On the flipside we get into a more fantasy setting for Guts as he also has his own band of people now, and even a little magical girl. All of it works really well, on top of him processing his extreme PDST with Casca, and his demon within.

This is Berserk at its finest.

Best volume yet?

We got a 4 vs 4, and it's fucking INTENSE!

I really liked Isagi here as he has to go all out with his team. Using Chigiri and King and Nagi to do their own team they make a choatic as hell all our striker team. Leaving the other team to have to go all out with teamwork, balacing the game in a crazy opposite way from the first time Isagi verse Rin. Leaving Rin to finally have to take off the kid gloves and play serious by the end.

The over the top shonen style level up attacks and grit, mixed with the sweet sweet cursing, make this one a hell of a lot of fun. If like any sports Manga, this is easily top 5. Check it out!

A mutating creature who kills people. A bunch of dumb people doing a online TV show. Kill. Slash. The end.

It's okay. But the art is stiff. The people are dumb. It feels to generic to really push past "Okay" at best.

Besides being the typical funny as hell manga it is, this one gets pretty serious at parts and damn emotional. I'm wondering if it'll be even more emotional in the anime when I get to that point but I felt a little teary eye here. On top of that some funny as hell undercover dad moments, and great ending for my girl. Overall a 5 out of 5 for this one.

This reminds me a lot of Fly me to The Moon.

It's cute but not great. It's smaller chapters so it's breezy but it basically has kind of a wimpy main guy who just thinks his girlfriend is super cute and adorable 95% of the time that is his entire dialogue. Shikimori though is a fun character, her faces are different for sure. So while not a banger of a start, it's a fun one, and nice to see the two main leads already dating. I'll continue on!
