I still really like this series, and this volume has some of the best moments in the series (and some of the worst).

The confrontation with the killer was great, but then it turned out silly with the twist of the gun. Same thing with the reveal of who it is, but then let's play a guitar all night for the power of rock is strong! We did get a great burning down a store scene with zombie like people's, that was intense and scary. But we got a silly dog sniffing scene that made no sense.

Overall it was the most uneven volume so far, but saying that, the series is till great. On to the next one!

So sometimes between the gore, cursing, and nudity you need to sit back and enjoy some High School drama. Archie is the book for that.

Mark Waid is a 50/50 writer for me. Some stuff I love, others I hate, but he always puts his own mark on things. His Archie mostly hits all the right notes that make this series extremely enjoyable. So let's start with the goods.

The art is fantastic (for issue 1-3) and should expect no less from Fiona. It's just amazing to see these characters mix it up, love, hate, it all looks fantastic. Also the dialog is tight, up to date, but not trying too hard. A few slang words thrown in, but it feels modern, yet still makes you smile because it's all good. I especially love Archie and Jughead's talks and Betty is so cuteeeee! This my comic book crush...Yeah I know she in HS but half you people love Marvel characters way underage so fuuuuuckkkkkkk youuuuuu.

The only negative is the massive change in art half way through. At first I hated the art but got use to it as it went on. It's still not nearly as good as Fiona but solid enough and still enjoyable.

So yes, I really had a great time sitting back and reading this one. I'll be checking out volume 2 and Jughead (Spin-off) very soon!

So this was kind of...wonky? Boring? I can't find the right word.

I like the Cyclops and Laura moment. Seeing young him and Wolverine clone talk was interesting and fun. That moment had heart.

The rest? A crazy religious organization hunting down our favorite mutants. How fun! Haven't seen this before...zzzzzzz....

Yeah not much to say on this one except very very forgettable.

When I saw the picture of a old fuck (who resembles Trump so it was even better) sucking his own dick I knew I was in for a treat.

Political jokes aside this story is basically focusing on taking down a organization that has used people's needs against them to control them. This is the aftermath of the terrible faith of our heroes in the first part. This is the revenge side of it all. The part where she's had enough and the GHOST OF TOKYO RISES!

It's entertaining throughout, going at brisk pace (which is my only negative. It feels semi-rushed) however this had everything I wanted really to finish this story. I enjoyed my time in this world, it reminds me of Ready Player One but actually GOOD. It's fun, wonderfully drawn, and I liked the message/themes it was pushing. Mostly cause I love technology but also fear it at the same time. It's such a scary thing at times.

Anyway check it out, see if you enjoy it as much as I!

This actually made me sad. Because my four favorite characters were at war with each other.

This mostly focuses on Allen having to make a huge decision. No spoilers, because if you read the last 15 volumes, you'd know that he now holds the answer to get rid of all of Mark's race of people (I can't spell their damn names) and with that he tries to tell Nolan. Of course he doesn't think it's the way, especially with the fact it might KILL every goddamn human on the planet. So Oliver agrees with Allen and they go that way to take it out.

The big twist, or moment is fucked up. But it isn't till the last few pages your heart really begins to race. It's last minute but it feels so "OH SHIT" moment you're left with "Well what the fuck now?" that I loved it.

Invincible being this strong 16 volumes later is truly why this is in my top 5 of all times for comics.

More like a 3.5 but still not amazing.

This is a lot of backstory. Finding out the missing years (and they are A LOT of years) between Rex (robot) and Monster Girl. The ending is actually tragic, and the last page is always nice because it sets up the future so well. What is to come is about to get messy thanks to a new villain in the making.

I also enjoyed Bulletproof's background, give us some much needed history and lifestyle to care about him. Poor guy though, he has it rough.

This is a decent volume, not much more than that. However, what's to come of it is very important. All about the long game with kirkman, and building characters we love/hate.

I wanted to love this as much as the first. I didn't. However, saying that, it's still filled with a ton of great moments.

Let's start with the fantastic issue about Scarlet and Vision. Might be one of my favorite issues of the entire run. Heartbreaking, sad, and TRUE. Relationships can be bumpy as fuck, and watching a reflection of that with V is soooo sad. I also love the issue when the Avengers come into play. The way Vision acts and does things just goes to show you how important and valuable his contribution to the team is. Truly scary.

The whole volume is very depressing though. It ends well, but leaves you empty. Where's the first volume I felt balanced it better, giving some light humor, and almost hitchcock type theme, this was downright fucking sad. Reflecting our lives out readers in the process is smart but sure as hell hard to read though and smile...

Either way this series is very much worth reading. I recommend this for EVERYONE who wants a damn well done story. As a whole the series is 9 outta 10.

Like Invincible I decided to re-read series I read as a kid to see if I got a better grasp on them. The Boys is one I remember fondly for being over the top and fucking insane. Well guess what? it still is years later.

So you got the first few pages showing how superheroes can be pieces of shit. Watch as this poor character has his girlfriend body slammed into a wall and turn into a slush of blood. It's sad, fucked up, and you're like "FUCK THESE GUYS" and it only gets worse from there. Force Blowjobs (rape), fucking whores till they bleed, coke, cutting...yeah this is a lot of dark shit.

It stays entertaining throughout somehow despite being stupid and silly. The art is great, the fights are as brutal as one would expect, and the dialog is like Preacher but on crack. It's one to sit back and laugh at, don't take serious, cause Garth can't be.

3/5.

Short review, cause short on time, but great volume that finally has a big turning point for a lot of characters.

Fuuuuuuuuck! NOOOOOO!!!! This series really has no problem killing major characters.

So this picks up right where volume 2 ends. Some intense gun showdown. Death of a major character, big fight scenes, then half way through the volume another major death. One that actually made me sad. Made me want to destroy some mofos. I was so freaking sad, cause loved this character. Then we slow down a bit. Interesting downward spiral of our hero. Some scenes weren't needed but the last 10-12 pages are so fucking intense I had to grip my balls and read non-stop like a mad man.

Anyway....this is almost as good as the last volume. On to volume 4 baby!
