So sometimes between the gore, cursing, and nudity you need to sit back and enjoy some High School drama. Archie is the book for that.

Mark Waid is a 50/50 writer for me. Some stuff I love, others I hate, but he always puts his own mark on things. His Archie mostly hits all the right notes that make this series extremely enjoyable. So let's start with the goods.

The art is fantastic (for issue 1-3) and should expect no less from Fiona. It's just amazing to see these characters mix it up, love, hate, it all looks fantastic. Also the dialog is tight, up to date, but not trying too hard. A few slang words thrown in, but it feels modern, yet still makes you smile because it's all good. I especially love Archie and Jughead's talks and Betty is so cuteeeee! This my comic book crush...Yeah I know she in HS but half you people love Marvel characters way underage so fuuuuuckkkkkkk youuuuuu.

The only negative is the massive change in art half way through. At first I hated the art but got use to it as it went on. It's still not nearly as good as Fiona but solid enough and still enjoyable.

So yes, I really had a great time sitting back and reading this one. I'll be checking out volume 2 and Jughead (Spin-off) very soon!
