Another solid volume. I just wish it was better though.

So axis is a weird storyline. Some stuff I loved, some I didn't. Nova stuff is in the middle.

Watching Sam take on Hulk was entertaining to say the least. I think it's the first major battle he's been in where he suffered injuries. The fight was fast paced and exciting at times, but some of the hulk dialog was terrible and the end wrapped up to quickly.

The next arc, while only one issue, was great. Focused on Sam accepting he's not the best, and he's growing, while taking a little tour with the Avengers. I personally really enjoyed this volume and love character growth.

Last arc is the weakest. Basically Carnage comes back into town and wants Sam's head. No real reason other than to kill him. Kind of lame and not all that fun. Well, the fights were, the rest was just borderline okay.

Think the worst part is Nova is a fun character who can have great stories, but keeps getting dragged into these fucking events. Let the boy just live his life goddamn you! 3/5

Holy shit, this was intense.

So this volume is two parts. One is focusing on Wonder Women's villain the Cheetah. It's kind of tragic by the end. At first I was like "This creature can actually hurt Superman? Come the fuck on." but by the end felt horrible for her. The fights were odd (I admit, I don't know much about her. But to take Supes/Flash on with ease was weird) but her overall faith is sad.

Second part is the war with Atlantis. This shit was epic as fuck. I really fucking enjoyed this. Now I heard this is a lot of Aquaman series here, but I didn't read that, so I don't give a shit. Watching Aquaman decide the faith of both himself and his people is heartbreaking and well done. The fights are wonderful and again, the ending is more sad than anything.

I love this series. I get why people hate it, but like Ultimate, this is just too much fun to hate. On to the next baby!

Well thanks to Anne I checked this out right away on my Marvel Unlimited App. No, I don't work for Marvel. The App just kicks ass (get on it DC)

So Karen died in a horrible way. If you don't know how, this little issue will show you. It sucks, Matt's life began to crack some more. So what if she didn't die? Well Matt's life would be equally as screwed up or actually worse. I don't wanna spoil what happens because it's only 24 pages, worth a read, but it's downright depressing.

Love the art, and idea, but this is such a depressing situation I can't say I enjoyed it much more. Poor Matt can't even catch a break in a what if. Come on now!

This is when my love for this series truly began. Up until now it was fun, cute, coming of age story. Now...now we get into the drama. The dark side of it all. And damn is it sweeeeeet!

"Dad?" UGH that part gets me every single time.

This is the issue Omni-man finally shows his true self. Mark at first listens, tries to grasp it all, but in the end refuses to see it the way his father does. Humans are not to be slaves, they are to make their own future, and Mark will fight for us. Even if it means going against his father.

His dad's thoughts? Well he about to fuck shit up. Including his own son.

This volume has some fun moments leading up to the final showdown. It also is heartbreaking to see Mark getting tossed around like a weakling when his father goes on his rampage. However, it hits even harder with Mark trying to reach his father through the entire fight.

So yeah, this is it, this is the turning point, this is when things get real good. If you were unsure about enjoying this series in volume 1-2, check this out, you will NOT be disappointed.

Sadly this was a very uneven volume. This wraps up the first major run of Nova I read, and it was fun, but slowly got worse as it went on.

So Nova finally reunites with his father, but it feels rushed and not really well paced. This trip to find his father should have been atleast 8 to 10 issues. We need to feel he tried, not just two issues and boom, hey pops! Oh yeah let's bring you home. Yay, happy family.

I just felt the least amount of emotion in this volume. I liked it wrapped up but not in a very satisfying way. So for now, I'm going to give it a 2/5 and really hope the new writer helps give much needed life to a series that started off great and went to meh.

Anti-Venom, is that you?

Well this was kind of terrible. It had silly dialog, gore just for the sake of gore, pacing all over the place, a odd plot, and one dimensional characters.

So why did I give it two stars? I think the art is solid, if not a copy of every other comic. I also enjoyed some of the dialog, I know, crazy? The moment in the room with the two brothers about leaving his wife, was well done. Too bad the rest of the dialog isn't nearly as well done.

Overall this is sloppy. It's about a assassin dying at the hands of some secret organization. His brother, a priest, steps in and becomes this new assassin but has a suit like venom. Then lots of blood, cursing, and more blood.

I got all 3 volumes for 8 bucks...it's worth about that much so far. On to the next. Pray for me.

More progress towards learning who Mark is. I love the aftermath of the fight with his father. Omni-man didn't hold back, and now Mark as his son has to deal with that.

Like I said previous, Invincible is very much a coming of age story. If you aren't in to that, want just superhero fan service, well it does give you some but it really focuses on character growth. I love the moments with his mother in this. The pain you feel is very very real. I also really like how they're planting seeds for future volumes with Robot losing leadership and such.

There's a lot to love in this character building volume but not a lot of huge twist or turns yet. This is a nice growth volume and I stand with a 3.5/5.

It's a 3.5 out of 5, but I did have a few more issues with this one than the last.

First the things I loved. Batgirl. She's awesome. Cassandra Cain is by far my favorite Batgirl. She's just magical with her timid appearance but kickass approach. The way she fights, helps people, everything about her I love. I also really enjoy the overall art of this book. And some of the storylines hit hard, and make you think, and the ending showdown was excellent.

The negatives stem down to some filler. The Robin story was cute, but felt like a huge waste of time. I also dislike how some of the pacing is, or panels, where things jump too far ahead way to quick. It's hard to keep up at times and gives you quite a few headaches as you have to re-read things.

However Batgirl is well worth checking out. If you enjoyed the first volume you'll enjoy the 2nd! On to the third!

Ummm I liked this? Like whoa.

So after many forums telling me how horrible Bendis run is (which it could be later) and how horrible by best comic buddy Jimmy told me to avoid it like the plague (he is a huge X-men series, especially Scott) I didn't feel like wasting my time.

But I tried it out on Marvel Unlimited and you know whaT? Not bad.

So X-men are not having a good time. Xavier be a dead as fuck dude, and Scott is the one who pewed pewed him to death. Then flip and reverse, Beast goes back in time to recruit the original X-Men. before ANY of them could be corrupt. This brings the old into the future and we start to see everyone break apart, slowly, and scared of the future as it is.

Both a intriguing look into it and highly entertaining. Yes, the dialog can be iffy at times. Also, the art is 50/50 (Why is there always a spark on the side of Scott's lazers) and overall it could be a little tighter and get us caught up.

However, it's not horrible, which I was expecting. I had a good time. So on to volume 2!
