First 3 issues are great. Watching Miles and his brother fuck shit up, get revenge for what was done for them, and some great art made the first 3 issues fly by but in a meaningful way. Then the issue with the time traveling...ugh. I hate shit like that. Really lowered the score for me. Annual was aite.

A 3 out of 5.

I truly think once AoT gets to the "Marley" arc, without giving away spoilers, it is a whole different beast of a show/manga.

Here's the thing about this arc in particular. AOT was originally slated as a fast paced, vicious, fucked up cruel world where emotionless titans were eating us. That was the plot given and it was us trying to survive. There were "new" titans popping up like the armored titan, but we just assumed these things were some type of different breed.

But the story progressed and we learned PEOPLE can transform into titans.

Then we get into political warfare. The worst kind of warfare since everyone is backstabbing everyone to gain something and in the process many innocents die. This is life, both in this fictional world but very much in our world.

And AoT could have wrapped up with that in the last major arc before this one with a simple "We won our freedom and stopped the titans" for a bit.

Then we switch to overseas. To Marley. To the HUGE world that seemed almost unbelievable at first, but then in retrospect made SO much sense. And in that story we dive into the other side of things. To enslavement camps. To brainwashing. To kids like Gaby and Falco being used as pawns by a country who gives two shits about them.

And all our returning characters finally make their appearance after multiple chapters without them. Multiple years go by. And Eren has finally launched his grand plan. "Keep. Moving. Forward."

This thick Colossal edition 6 collects Eren's attack on Marley aswell as the attack back FROM Marley. Somehow, in all that chaotic fighting, multiple deaths, and amazing moments we have down to earth moments of both the past to fill in the gaps of the time skip as well as a big focus on the brothers, Zeke and Eren.

And oh my, oh my. This scene contains one of my favorite scenes of ALL time in any medium. One that made my jaw drop watching and then also reading it again here. Without spoilers it is...

"Zeke...Is that you?"

And I've been reading comics and manga a long time. I've read so many novels I feel like my brain can't even contains them. I've watched SO many anime, movies, and tv shows. And there's very few moments that I can say truly made me go "No fucking way" like this moment did.

And it's not just for shock. What follows is horrifying, sad, and extremely emotional. So well done, I couldn't believe it. And the end of this volume is finally the moment we might have been waiting for but not sure if we want it.

A 5 out of 5.

Super cute and fun!

I've seen the first season of the anime and so this is more of a read again even though follows almost the exact same moments. However, luckily, this was one of my favorite romance/slice of life anime in awhile and the manga is just as good.

In comes the adorable but silly Marin. She's the type of girl who is SO pretty but also not stuck up, not mean, always looking on the bright side of things BUT also knows not to take shit from people. She's the star of the manga/anime but also Gojo, our main male protagonist, is solid. Tall, handsome, a heart filled with gold, and humble. These two together make a fun combo.

Basically Marin wants to cosplay. But her designs suck ass. Gojo knows how to make clothes and so Marin asks him to help her make one. This starts their adventure together. From measuring Marin (Boobies!!!) to going shopping for cloth and such, and just hanging out eating some food. Get a lot of cute moments, good world building for cosplay, and great character motivation.

If want a feel good manga, funny moments, mixed with a lot of heart. Check this one out. A 4.5 out of 5.

Horror light but story? About a man getting a talking by his best friend? Hitting major marks for realistic feel to it.

Not amazing but SOLID start to Chip's run on Batman. Helps the art is amazing. But basically Bruce is dealing with another one of his Robin's in danger, Penguin framing him, and a new threat by the very end, that can lead to some interesting stories in the future. A 3.5 out of 5.

Immortal X-Men starts right off the bat with big ideas. Not a BIG fan of Gillen's writing usually but it works here. Mostly because he gave us more Sassy Sinister, and thank god for that. One of the worst, 90's ever villains, actually has a fun personality. I'm thankful for that. So him taking lead and being the worst is great, and Hope gets some love, who is one of my favorite mutants around. So overall, a interesting start if not a bit slow.

Uh...this was A LOT.

I mean it wasn't all bad. I appreciate Mark mixing up things and having a NEW Captain America before that became a big thing in a couple of years with Batman and Superman. And this actually didn't make me hate John Walker. I can see where he was coming from, even if he's ignorant to his "home" of racist. Still, the idea of it worked and there's some fun issues with him and his buddy Lamar.

The stuff with Steve didn't really work for me. It felt overly long to get to the point of taken out the big bad and teaching the government not to be, well, assholes. But that's an impossible lesson, isn't it? Also some of the fights and bad guys were really silly and didn't have the weight of some of the story beats.

This isn't bad per say, but I wasn't overly impressed. But for the idea and push for John Walker to be the New Cap, I got to give it props there. Just can't go past a 3.

Excellent issue.

Superman and crew take on Mongul and his new warriors. Sadly, things do NOT go well. Multiple members down, one dead, and Superman, the man of steel, the legend himself...out for the count? This arc is picking up big time!

Apollo: Their lives MORE important than ours?
Superman: Not more...but not less.

This is the Superman I've been wanting. Filled with hope and never giving up. His send off to one of his own was amazing. His determination never wavering. This arc is something special in 3 issues.

Fear State was not a great event and wasn't the best in main Batman line and even worse in Nightwing. Here...it's okay. The big monster fight LOOKS great but storyline this is the weakest for Tamaki's run. I liked the backup story enough except it's typical seeing and hearing things that aren't there.
