After see "The Batman" (Really dug it) I decided to go back and give the Long Halloween another chance. I really didn't like it the first time I read it but this time...it was just okay.
The story has a more detective slowburn feel to it. There's some great moments like Harvey and the crew all sitting around trying to take down the big bad. Love seeing Batman interact with normal people to try and do justice. I also really enjoyed Dent in here, he had a lot of layers, and some interesting twist.
The ending seems kind of shoehorned in, and I was NOT a fan of the "villains" here as they were typical mobster types and felt no pity for them dying. The story tries to keep a mystery but the mystery goes on way too long.
Also I might be the only human in the world who's not a big fan of the art style. Just not my jam.
Saying that it is decent, fun, better than I remember, but nowhere near the best Batman stories for me.

Another great issue, this is what Snyder excels at. Great characters with good dialogue and not a messy convulted plot. The Liam background. The fight on the plane. The ending. All great stuff.
SUPER Cute and really fun.
You have two main characters here, Miwa and Saeko. And they are just trying to figure out this dating thing. It's nice that they kind of skip the whole "will they won't they" dating thing. Saeko and Miwa start dating right away and while Saeko has experience dating both male and female, this is all pretty new to Miwa. You get hints of the past for both, some mystery there, while also some great situations where the characters have to be understanding of their partners needs while also respecting their boundaries.
It's really cute how they interact. It helps the side cast from Mikkun, Lucha, Tsuruta and more are all really great additions that add to the conversations and stories. I love that they talk normally, with some really funny lines, and also sexy moments when they do finally get it on.
Overall, I'm def into this series, and can't wait to read more. A 4 out of 5.

Another solid volume.
This time we try to pin point who killed Yoko. This whole volume is Eiji trying to figure out if his alter ego B1 did it. At the same time he gets deeper into the gang shit, and making things worse he robs from them despite the leader knowing what's up. Things get messier and messier and by the end all eyes are on Eiji, and not in a good way.

This volume keeps up the fun (and it gets a bit dark).
This time Hori wants to be smacked around by her boyfriend. It's a bit weird, but not too crazy. I mean some people like to be smacked around during sex, makes it way better, but she likes when he just takes control and slaps her in public, so it's a bit weird. But it still works. The rest is light hearted and fun, with a really cute cooking moment with other characters.
Still enjoyable. I can't say this series BLOWS me away but it's always fun. A 4 out of 5.

Alien (2021-2022) #10
Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Marc Aspinall, Salvador Larroca
A new stage in the aliens life? Yes please. Super fucked up death? Double yes! Some meh art? Eh...
Fun followup to the two parter with Nightwing. Jon and Dick's relationship is really solid, great mentorship, while also relating to each other. I'm excited to see them team up some more down the line.
Another solid volume.
This one is a little weirder with the art tending to be a bit dark to tell what was happening. We do get to learn a bit more about the world and what happened to Shiva's "aunt". Also Teacher goes through a dark moment at the start that really surprised me. I can't say I love this series but I'm intrigued almost the whole time, even if the art tends to be great, sometimes being black and white makes it hard to make out the characters seeing as they are big black shapes basically.
A 3.5 out of 5.

This series is truly ridiculous.
Yet somehow really fun?
This time we get closure on the "Bloody Butterfly" storyline that ends well enough. We also get a really funny one when a new friend enters the girls lives, making for a great ending. Another story tends to focus on finding a cigarette and acting cool. So as you see, these stories are crazy dumb but oh so fun. Excited to check out more!

I'm still enjoying it but the repetitiveness nature is seeping in a bit.
Listen, it's very easy to spot that this art, while talented, for sure drew Hentai (porn) previous to this. The shape, and body poses, are all there. So it's a bit distracting at times, especially when Nagatoro drawn with her boobs pointed out, sometimes nipples pushing through a swimsuit.
Saying that I do like the relationship here more. There's some good jokes, and the bullying is turning more into teasing now which I like. How will this go on 10+ volumes? Not sure. But so far it's enjoyable enough to keep reading.
