This is A LOT of talking. Some of it cut would help the pacing. BUT at the same time the art is wonderful and the cute dialogue helps.

Now we get to see the girlfriend and the ex work as a team. This one is A LOT more detective like manga. I actually like that side of it. I realized besides a few manga like Monster we don't really get much detective manga. Which is a shame, we need more. Anyway with Saki focus on hunting down the Steel Lady she has to work with Kotoko to try and find out what the fuck is happening. At the same time Kuro tries his hand against the spirit.

It's overall a lot of interesting lore thrown in with some funny dialogue and human moments. I like the main three characters which helps. Sometimes the padding and excesses amount of dialogue, explanation is a lot but overall I'm still invested.

I'll read more. 3.5 I'll round to a 4.

Damn go in as blind as possible. Excellent dialogue, pacing, and ending.

Cute little story of two people slowly growing to like each other.

Got a big hulking guy and a petite girl working together and he always pats her head and teases her, she gets mad, yet you can tell their is a thing between the two. The best issues were when they got sick, as it showed a softer side to both. While nothing new or amazing it is a wholesome cute rom-com. I'll pick more up if I see a sale on them.

I have mixed feelings about this one.

I liked it, so I want to make that part clear.

However, maybe I was expecting more than I got due to the high praise. Maybe it does evolve into something I will fall in love with. But for now, it's solid.

Basically Yona is a princess and is in love with the handsom Soo-Won. Soo-Won is the good looking, charming, cousin of Yona. Cousin you say? Hey, that's just how we roll in the day. And when Soo-Won comes to visit both her and his uncle to pay respect it looks like Yona is ready to confess her love. But when a turn of events go bad, and someone dies, Yona must survive at all cost.

The idea of the story is solid if not done before. I think the fact the "twist" were easy to see coming and nothing really surprised me. And a chapter of a flashback worked okay though felt like I read this style of storytelling before.

Saying that I've already grown fond of the artstyle a lot. I do also really enjoy the character of Hak. Right away he comes off as a caring person, funny, and badass. His push to help Yona become better, on top of helping her grow, while caring for her is all really endaring. It's also nice to see his background, or some of it here, and it working on all levels.

Overall, it's a solid start that leaves me intrigued to see where we go. I bought volume 1-3 so by the third volume I'll have a better idea if I'm going to embark on the entire (very long) quest of Yona of the Dawn, but for now I'm going onward. A 3.5 out of 5.

Outdated to say least. You'll have more fun reading devilman G or watching devilman crybaby. This was okay at best.

This was a cool little first volume about Assassins.

What started off as a typical "I want to save everyone" quickly turned into a darker more fucked up look at what people in power use their powers for. Once we get the reveal the question of morality rises. Even if you're killing or hunting people who've done "bad" things, you must keep in mind you're still murdering people. Which I think brings up a good question of what really is right or wrong, and when killing is justified.

What helps is the fights are easy to follow here, making them a lot of fun to view. The characters have a good range too and even the most badass characters have funny moments which surprises me. Also having a openly gay character and not hide behind "maybe or maybe not" bullshit they do is nice. The tone shifts a lot though and sometimes serious moments get ruined for a gag, and while funny, can feel odd.

But overall, I'm intrigued where we will go with this series. Reading more for sure.

A beautiful drawn manga mixed with a okay story.

Our main character works real hard to achieve what he has. It is refreshing not to see a Genius main character again. But when he begins to express himself with art it opens up a new outlook in life. And while it is interesting to see, the heavy focus on telling us how art works instead of letting it naturally be shown doesn't work for me.

But saying that the art itself is great. Some really stunning shots. I also liked we had a character or is trans (Or so I believe) without making a huge deal of it, just natural storytelling. The dialogue too seems more natural than usual and more modern, using words like "True" and "Facts" Worked well to bring up the high school feel.

But the explanation of art is so heavy is exposition it feels TOO heavy to care about those moments instead of doing it, say like, Dr. Stone.

Still I might grab book 2 if I see it at my library. A 3 out of 5.

After a bit of a slow start this one ends with a lot of "holy shit" moments.

First off...time skip! Seeing everyone older is great. It also shows the pressure of trying to find the secrets and rescuing the kids who Emma and everyone left behind. By the time we learn the secrets we're thrown into the shit as a new hunter is on the kids and they aren't monsters this time. They're humans!

This is a pretty cool change of pace. While first arc was cat and mouse, second survival, this one is turning into action packed fight for your life style that I'm starting to really enjoy. The ending results is some shocking deaths and push forward for a lot of characters. Some stay behind, some move forward, but all I know is I'm worried the deaths have just started.

Superman winds up trying to balance his life and it's not going well.

This volume is okay. Superman trying to balance his frustration with villains attacking him, his son being gone, his reveal of who he is to the world, and more is starting to weigh on him. I think the fact Superman deals with real issues is pretty clever and helps us connect to a basically god being. On top of that the art stays stylish and the fights are great. There's some great character moments too.

But overall storylines are okay. Mostly villain shows up, does bad things, superman beats them. This sounds like the plot to any superhero book but it feels feel cliche here. I never worry about Clark or anyone around him really. I liked they tried to change it where Superman tries to talk things out instead of fighting but in the end...he fights.

So yeah it's not bad, it's solid, but it could be better. I think I'm okay with Bendis finally stepping off this title. A 3 out of 5.

Another very solid issues. The moments with babs and dick or dick and Tim work extremely well. The art is also great showcasing good fight scenes and great facial emotions. Still not 100% sold on this heartless guy but so far digging it.
