Whoa, this was great. A build up to a huge loss worked really well. A big reveal at the end that'll make alien fans so excited. The art has some great moments but also sometimes feel very stiff. But besides that I'm digging this a lot.
Holy shit that ending.
A fairly standard start of the volume, some great funny moments, and a awesome reveal make this the best issue since the start of this run.

This was a decent start. I love most of King's stuff but this didn't blow me away. I did like his supergirl and she's a badass, especially the end. But not in love with the world we're on but we'll see how it goes.
A 3 out of 5.

Some cool ideas wasted on bland stories. I liked the Hush one most but the rest were borderline boring or bad. Oh and the whole throwing issues of PART of the story that the Dark Multiverse is doing is so weird. You're only get a bit of it, feels so disjointed. Least the art is solid.

I'm starting to think Bendis put all his ideas for Avengers in "Avengers" instead of "New Avengers" Because this run has been stronger.
This time the Avengers are trying to regroup and make a name for themselves again after everything keeps getting wrecked. Tony and Steve work together to bring the group back but when Norman comes along and tries to ruin them with PR they might be in over their heads. When each member breaks up in teams they think they might have the advantage but Norman isn't as stupid as he comes across sometimes.
This was another fun avengers book. The thing about this run it is isn't too serious. It's just avengers working together, lots of banter, some really funny lines, and they let Avengers like Spider-Woman and such shine which is really enjoyable. The end was a bit muddy but the very last issue with Vision was fantastic.
Overall solid but you can tell Bendis was getting little bored of writing Avengers.

This is a huge Omnibus that took me a bit to get through, not because it was bad, but because there's so many stories/change in tones, I took my time. What did I get out of it? Some great stuff, some good, and some bad.
I want to stress how much I love looking back on this book and seeing stories created after Alien/Aliens and before Alien 3 onward. So the first few stories decide to focus on Newt and Hicks. Ripley comes in later but the first two major stories are basically a direct sequel to Aliens. And while I appeciate them both, they feel oddly "safe". With Newt replacing Ripley as a badass by the end of the story (kind of) and Hicks doing the same mission again. I did indeed like the fact we got to see both deal with PDST but by the third and final story and Ripley's return it felt a bit weird how the story structure went. And basically the author didn't want to kill anyone important cause they could be used in future alien films. Funny how Alien 3 fucked that up anyway lol.
So that's the "Good" for me. Entertaining stories that felt like direct sequels. But what I actually REALLY enjoyed were two major stories. Hive and Genocide.
These stories are more off the walls and have new characters you never heard of. Even better one features basically waring Aliens killing each other to become dominate. Another story focuses on a drug sciencist and his friendly doggie ALIEN robot. yes. There is a Andriod that is a alien who can pull out a machine gun. Dude, I loved this shit.
There's also some cool black and white stories and a real solid Newt background story that serves as a nice before Aliens and recap of Aliens.
Alien 3 and the mini comics based on toys range from bad to meh at best. Alien 3 is a hot mess and with the exception of some decent parts I don't like the movie. The comic isn't much better. The alien toys storyline is so stupid even if we get some cool alien designs.
So yeah overall it is not a perfect collection but it has some pretty awesome stories in there. I dunno if I'd go full force 4 out of 5, but since I really enjoyed most of it I'll settle on a 3.5 and bump it UP to a 4. Bring on volume 2!

Lots of introspect for catwoman. A person who's had a complicated past and gets to be on full display here. Art is wonderful as always.
To be honest half way just was just rushing through. Some cool little supe stories but nothing stood out and reminds me alot of brand new day era for apidy.
The dark Tournaments heats up as the final two team are made here in this volume.
A lot of training, brutal fights, and a shocking ending make this volume worthwhile. To see Yusuke come so far after going through so much is really fantastic. On top of that you get an emotional payoff when a character passes here simply because of the build up. Togashi is a master at slowburn payoffs giving you both emotional and badass moments all in one.
Next up is the final part of the dark tournament saga, which I assume will be in the next two volumes. This was still great, a easy 4.5 out of 5.
