A collection of pretty good stories, and one great storyline at the end.

The start feels very much like Saturday morning cartoon justice league adventures. It is pretty fun and exciting at points if nothing else. The big finale for Grant Morrison's storyline is over the top, kind of stupid, but least it moves at a real fast pace. A bit to erratic at points for me though. Then the final storyline of tower of babel is easily the best story of this collection. With Batman's prevention tools against the Justice League being stolen by Ra and used against his friends Batman has to face the league after.

I think the fact it ended so strong is making me enjoy this collection the most so far. I loved the fallout to Bruce's actions and the way his friends and co-workers reacted was perfect for the situation. While the rest of the storylines were solid it was the final that made me really enjoy this collection.

Take a little john wick, a little Taken, and a little breaking bad and mix it in a pot and you get this...in the best way possible.

After her daughter goes missing April decides to take matters into her own hands since the police are doing jack shit to find out what happened to her. So this is like a mystery thriller mixed with some home alone making your own traps type shit. Funny enough it reminds me a lot of Nobody, a movie that just came out, but with a soccer mom twist.

The art is solid but moody and sometimes a bit too dark. I also think the last issue wrapped up a bit too quick at times.

But besides those two things I REALLY enjoyed this. The dialogue was fast and fun, the pacing was near perfect, and the brutal deaths worked real well. Bad Mother is a great comic that works well for fans of thrillers and semi-ridiculous premises. Check it out! Awa rarely misses.

A fairly decent ending to a fun mini-series.

Gail def has a good voice for Domino. She's fun, a bit sexual, lots of cool moves to show off, but a soft heart. I really enjoyed the way she interacted with the marvel cast and especially her two best friends. Was kind of nice to see a roadtrip type storyline mixed with saving people, taking down baddies, and being a badass mutant. While the stories felt a little too episodic for me by the end I enjoyed what I read and would read more of Domino for sure.

This was way better than I expected.

With the loss of both Conner and Bart the Teen Titans are trying their best to regroup and figure out how to handle their team. They don't have too much time to do this as the Titans of Tomorrow reappear. You know the gun weilding Tim and his titans from Johns run? Yeah they're back and they aren't too happy on what the kids of the past are doing.

Overall this was action packed and pretty fun. It started little slow but soon as the Titans of Tomorrow show up things get super intense quick. With Tim doubting his leadership to the other Teen Titans finding out what's important to them, to watching the newcomers Meghan and Supergirl and Blue Beetle giving it their all.

This worked on a lot of levels for me. This was fun, exciting, I laughed a few times, solid art, and good pacing. This is what I want from a Teen Titans book.

This was freaking great.

So two Otaku's figure since they grew up together as mega-nerds why not finally date? It seems logical as Narumi keeps dating guys and they dump her once they find out how much of a Otaku she is. So Hirotaka says lets date and so begins their adventure dating along side their two co-working friends Hanako and Taro.

This is basically just nerds dating the manga and it is great. For one everyone is an adult, so adult situations are funny as hell when dating. Also the fact there's SO much nerd shout outs makes me feel at home. Also the art is great with some of the BEST faces ever for comedy. Also the dialogue is pretty solid.

My only complaint is sometimes a panel has TOO much dialogue and it is hard to tell the order or what to read first.

Besides that this was cute, funny, nerdy, and everything I want in a Romance Slice of Life. A 4.5 out of 5.

Finally the big battle goes down.

After wrapping up the last arc pretty quickly we get into the final arc against the upside down man. And holy shit does it bring ALL the crew back to face off against this one. Plenty of tricks from good old Hellblazer, Swamp thing being a goddamn beast, and Wonder Woman and Zantana being fucking bosses.

This was a stellar way to end it all. I especially enjoyed Ram taking over, as James did great, but Ram grabbed on like it was nothing. I felt it wrapped up a bit too quick and the start was a tad slow, but everything inbetween was great. I hope to see more from Ram on Justice League Dark.

Kirkman releases another solid though not amazing book post Invincible/Walking Dead.

This time it revolves around Owen, a Asian American who comes high up into a secret temple to train and learn his place. This is actually a "Prelude" to our main story it seems as this is basically all his training. It's very old school Martial Arts clichés thrown at you left and right but with some great art, cool fight scenes, fun dialogue, and a intriguing ending it did start to build up some momentum for me and I want to check out volume 2.

This is more of a Avengers comic than Spider-man for half of it.

So Nick Fury has put away some of Spidy's biggest villains. Green Goblin, Electro, Sandman and so on. However when they finally able to form a plan and break out of a super prison things go to hell. The Avengers are assembled and they go to track down these pieces of shit, the new Sinister Six basically, but there's one major problem. They can't find them...but they all go after Peter Parker. The one who put them all there.

This is pretty good story. I like the slow build up and getting to see Bendis write the ultimates more human like instead of the hyper violent and more crazed ones that Millar writes was cool. I also enjoyed seeing Peter lose his shit when his family is in trouble, that's the Spidy I know and love. The art works most of the time, especially for the fight scenes. Overall, if don't mind Spidy taking a backseat for a few issues this is worth reading without a doubt.

I thought I reviewed this but I guess not.

This was a great look into the life of being a hero and not always winning. With Kingpin coming back into the crime fold, Peter begins to crumble under the pressure of being a hero. He worked so hard to put this guy away and now he's getting off scott free. Where is the justice? On top of that Black Cat gets involved in Peter's life and you know that complicates things. Especially with MJ kind of losing herself too.

Overall this was a really interesting look into trying to fight crime even if the justice system isn't on your side. I loved the stuff with MJ too as I feel her pain living in a household like that. The Daily bugle stuff was good too with Aunt May coming out a damn star. I didn't love all the black cat/electra stuff but it was still entertaining.

Overall, a worthy addition to the best Spider-man run of all time.

This brings me back to childhood with picking up this volume.

This is about a Shaman named Yoh. He is just a laid back dude who likes to chill and listen to music. He meets a ghost name Amidamaru and together they work together as ghost/human to help other spirits, fight bad guys, and so on. The idea of it all is simple but it's thanks to a large cast of characters including Yoh's future wife Anna, Tao Ren's little pyscho vegeta like ass, and Manta that we keep fresh characters coming on top of solid comedy.

This isn't mind blowing or anything. Shonen has come a long way now and we get much more complicated stories. However, we do get heart here. A lot of the characters get to really present who they are and how they want to help. And while the arc itself is simple and brimming with fun storylines it does remain a bit simple and not very high stakes for me. But because it is a easy breezy read I'll try volume 2 when it drops. For now it's solid fun-good time.
