This is one of the most uneven books I've read in some time. There's parts I LOVE and parts I had no clue what the hell Waid was trying to do with some of these storylines.
So these adventures range from stopping white Martians, to figuring out how to Forgive Batman for what he has done, to facing off against their alter egos (So like Bruce for Batman, Wally for Flash, and so on.) And it feels a bit jumbled and weird if I'm being honest. There's also a Random Emperor Joker issue we could of used without.
But really it comes down to this. When it's just members talking to each other, relying on one another, being truthful, or even bantering, Waid does a great job. I especially love the issue of Superman and Batman just chatting while we see the League falling apart. Really well done and great emotion sendoff.
I liked the high energy action too a lot of this has and the pacing is quick which is nice.
But some of these stories feel like they're trying to be overly complicated. ALmost like waid is trying to channel his inner Morrison who came before him instead of just doing his own thing.
Overall, it's good but not great. Worth it to see Waid write so many iconic characters and some really well but could be solid with better plotting. A 3 out of 5.

This was both super cute and pretty informational about the life of Game Developers.
Aoba is fresh out of High School and starting her first job. How nice it must be to not work till after High School. I've been working since 15. Okay, enough self pity. Anyway, Aoba joins the work force on becoming a video game designer. While she's great at character designs she has so much to learn from being on time, to crunches, getting her work done in time, to even something as simple as getting a paycheck and depositing it.
This series is done by the 4 panels down reading. So took me a bit to get into it but once I did it was great since the jokes usually hit every 3rd or 4th panel. Most of the jokes worked and would make me smile or chuckle. None made me burst out laughing but I enjoyed my entire time reading it. The Yuri undertones are bit much at times, and while I'm not opposed to seeing half naked chicks sleep in a office, give each other back rubs, or call each other "super cute >.<" I do find it beating around the bush when they could just say they like each other.
But either way if into Slice of life comedy with some cool nuggets on how video game development works, this might be the one to check out. I got the next few volumes on a great deal, scoring volumes 1-8 for less than 35 bucks. I'm very glad I did.

This was decent.
A little confusing on what the fuck was happening sometimes. I'm not huge into the whole mystical aspect of this book. However, the actual fights and dialogue were solid. Yang knows how to give believable characters and how they talk. The art was good though some of the faces and expressions looked odd.
A bit of a mix bag, but solid for my first Shang-Chi book. Looking forward to what Yang can bring to the table with the next book.

Meta books are hit or miss for me.
This is basically around the time Spider-man 2 the movie was coming out. During that time SPider-man was the BIGGEST thing. So in this story Peter is dealing with the fact Spider-man is being made into a movie. And look who comes along but Doc Ock to go along with the whole movie synergy thing. But it's actually the backstory of gwen and dealing with that storyline that makes this one worth reading anyway.
The Gwen stuff is 5 stars, while the rest is just okay. This was one of the weaker arcs in a otherwise amazing run. A 3 out of 5.

A weird, violent, space opera mixed with family drama that ends as confusing as it starts.
I really can't speak much on the story as I understood the baseline of it and the family part but the actual gods part? Still confused as fuck what was happening, why they do what they do, and the ending was weird. I will however say the art is gorgeous and some of the coolest looking space shots I've ever seen.
I'm intrigued to try book 2 but didn't love this. a 3 out of 5.

Beautifully drawn trashy romance.
A girl has learned for the third time that the guys she dates are all married. So she moves back home to realize her father is in debt and the store they own is in finical trouble. Upon working to help her family she meets a creepy guy who you learn already has two wives and wants the main girl to be the 4th.
Listen, this is trashy and stupid. It makes no sense why anyone would be with this guy in real life. However, the comedy isn't bad. The main girl is pretty brutal with her words and she isn't a push over on top of that the art is really solid even if the fan service is high.
Want trashy romance? Try this one on.

Another adorable adventure into the life of the best couple in Manga.
Together this time they get to visit her family and hilarity begins. Watching him try to measure her father with both respect and being a nice guy is great. The idea of them agreeing to go apartment hunting is so real I remember doing the same thing nearly 10 years ago. The life of two people clearly very much inlove dealing with getting closer together with such respect and realistic moments makes this series a must read.
As I said before, if you like Romance, bit of comedy, and slice of life, this is hands down one of my favorite mangas of all time. A 5 out of 5.

Okay this was weird, but still pretty cute, and had some really funny moments.
So what I love about you is about two people who right away fall in love...with the things on each other. Yunoki is a guy who wakes up to a girl in his bed called Kotoka. Soon they realize why they're together. He loves hair, especially Kotoka's. It is his HUGE fetish. At the same time Kotoka loves sexy "backs" which I dunno how backs can be sexy but she somehow finds his sexy. Together they begin to live together and learn that they love parts of each other but maybe that'll evolve into loving each other?
This is absurd, and over the top, and done in a tongue in cheek romance comedy way but never too gross or weird. I think it helps but leads are cute together and they both having charming things about each other. I think even when Kotaka gets jealous it's funny, or when Yunoki just wants hair over her big boobs it'll make you lift. It's also nice to have adults as the center of romance comedy, more to relate to.
While not as great as Sweat and Soap or Wotakoi it is still pretty cute. A 3.5 out of 5, bump it to a 4.
