A deep look into what Swamp Thing is plus a lot of great moments for both him and Abby.

Swamp Thing wants to let Alec rest, and so he finds the remains of him after the explosion. Upon finding his body he wants to get closure and he might just do that. Then we flip over to Abby dealing with a old enemy. When Swamp Thing must go into the world of the supernatural, into death itself, and into hell, will he be able to come back? Then we get two one shots, one very odd weird one with talking animals. And then one with Abby and Swamp Thing trying to learn how to love one another and...get on drugs and go into a weird trippy world.

Overall, a pretty great volume. Besides the one shot about talking animals, that one I thought sucked. But all the others was a nice deep look into what it means to be a creature with memories, and if you are that person, if you have the memories of that person. Because what are we as humans if not just memories till we die. But between the trippy adventure into hell and also love, this was a odd volume but engrossing the whole time.

I got into anime in the 90's, even more so in the 2000's, and I have NEVER seen Chobits despite how popular it was growing up. My wife mentioned it was super cute and fun and so when I saw this on the shelf for a good price I figured why not. The Deluxe editions are nice hardcover books with few extra pages, and some color pages even. So I jumped on a chance of getting it for 14$ on sale and man oh man...I LOVED IT.

The story of Chobits is about Hideki and Chi. Hideki is walking home one day and meets Chi, who is a persocom. Basically a computer that is shaped in a human form. Obviously Hideki is excited to score a free persocom but when he learns more about chi she isn't a simple Persocom. She learns, she is different, she even may have feelings.

This story is super cute. Hideki is a really likeable main character, and though he's a horny dude at times, it's not overbearing or disgusting. He's just a regular 19 year old virgin and of course he finds woman hot, but what's nice is the amount of different girls they show on display, all different, with all their own goals. And they all play really well to Hideki.

But Chi is the real star. A fish out of water type scenario that never really gets old despite 300+ pages in. On top of her being adorable is the fact she's learning so much so quick. The mystery behind her creation is intriguing, but even more so are the side cast and somehow they are tied into what she is and how she was made.

The series actually gives you questions about humanity and what we are. Where we are as people and how much we rely on others but also electronics. It's not in a pushy way but just to remind you of what might be important to you right in front of you.

I really can't stress enough how much I enjoyed reading this. Laughing multiple times and being amazed with some of these shots. Breathtaking at points even. I ordered volume 2-3 right away.

Man I am a total sucker for these Romance Slice of life stories haha.

So Blue Flag starts off similar enough to things probably read or watched. A character named Taichi is just living his normal everyday life when one day he begins to talk to Futaba. He quickly finds out Futaba has a mega-crush on Touma Mita, a childhood friend of Taichi. Despite Taichi knowing it won't work out he decides to help Futaba, even though HE might secretly have feelings for her, but more than that he feels let down by his own views in life and being...lost.

This is a love story but with plenty of fun twist. Most of all it's pretty damn funny. The faces are so good, I laughed a few times at reactions. Also, the characters seem realistic and the ending wasn't a surprised as I guessed earlier, but it was handled VERY well. I really got attached to all three characters, and eager to see how they grow from here.

Give me more of blue Flag. A 4 out of 5.

The Joker War brings a totally new and never before seen arc to Batman. It's about the Joker...bringing war...to Gotham.

Okay jokes aside, and you probably saying "not another Joker story" This was pretty good. The storyline is simple enough and seen it done million times. But the fact James REALLY nails some of these character moments. Sure Joker's idea to take away Bruce's money and make him suffer personally is cool but it's the moments with Dick's return, Batman and Alfred, Harley Quinn being a goddamn QUEEN, and so many more smaller moments worked real well.

It also helps that the new characters are well done. Both Punchline and Clownhunter are awesome additions to the Batman Mythos. I also really loved the art. Just so damn good. The action flows so well and the sexiness of everyone from Batman to Harley Quinn to Punchline is SO good. I need more of that shit.

The pacing was a bit off and parts felt stilted in terms of storyline. But when the character moments came up they shined so good.

We're moving into new territory now as we get to visit Marley itself.

But before that we have to handle the events of what happen last book. With two major characters dying it is up to Levi to decide who lives and who dies. A choice that is heightened by friends and comrades throwing in their two cents. The result is bitter no matter what, which makes the choice even better.

We also get to see Eren's father's past and oh man, does it change EVERYTHING. You think you know what's up but you have no fucking clue. So when the pieces start to fall in line, and Eren begins to live memories he once had, it only gets darker from here. Then when you get a awe dropping scene that leads to some big revelations you're thrown into a time skip that focuses on Reiner and the people of Marley in ways you might not expect.

And that's the brilliance of Attack on Titan. Just when you think you know it all. Just when you've decided who to root for and hate. The series decides to flip it on you. Make you feel. In the words of Eren "Not everyone is bad. There are good people." And that's very true. It's just all the people inbetween are the ones caught in this hellzone.

Art and story elevated to new heights here, as we ender the last third of Attack on Titan. Hold on people, we're in for a ride. A 5 out of 5.

First half does a extremely goodjob of Naruto handling the fallout of the last volume.

With death comes loss, and it's always the person who is left behind who has to hold up the weight of it all. Naruto has grown in a lot of ways while still being a idiot at times. This volume above all else shows how much he's matured. Especially dealing with the fallout of the last volume. Then we flip over to Sasuke and his crew taking on "Killer B" which by the way is such a dumb name. This rapper like ninja warrior won't be so easy to put down.

Besides the semi-racist make the one black guy in the series a rapper thing going on it was a pretty fun volume. Killer B's moveset is entertaining and watching him handle Sasuke and Co is actually great. I'd say though the best part is the first half with Naruto dealing with the loss and moving forward. Touching and sad, with multiple characters in grief.

Edging a bit closer to a 4 now. Not there yet, but I'm digging this.

There's a huge attack on the capital by a group of evil wizards. So they call upon the knights to try and stop them from destroying everything. But mid battle they get taken out of the playing field and it's up to Astra and the youngins to defend the city. Leaving it to some funny battles, some brutal ones, and a ending that did leave me a bit shocked.

The action is clear and easy to follow, the build up to the moves is cool, and the pacing is quick. The thing is, it's a typical shonen and it knows it. It has the main character saving the day but it somehow is entertaining. I'm hoping with a shocking defeat to a character we'll get into a dark territory and give the villains some meat. But for now, it is still fun to read.

Aquaman finishes strong with Kelly focusing on family.

With Arthur first mission to rescue his daughter the mission goes in directions I didn't expect and keeps it highly entertaining. The next two arcs play next to each other and I have to say I was shocked how much I enjoyed Kaldur'ahm this arc and his mission with both his grandfather and then his asshole father. The story ends on a wedding, so it was really nice.

Overall pretty solid sendoff. Not amazing but really enjoyable. Kelly really turned it around as I hated volume 1, enjoyed volume 2 and 3 a lot, and 4 as well. I also thought art worked well and got to let a few characters that were in the shadows to shine. This is the end for Aquaman for awhile but it worked out well.

Monster comes to a close and it's as ambitious as I expected with a real look into what a monster is and how it is made.

The whole build up has pretty much every major character playing a role. The 3 main really get to shine as Grimmer, Tenma, and Lunge all eventually come to this little down out of nowhere to finally hunt down Johan.

I'm not going to speak much on the story because it'll hit spoilers but I do what to commend the author for pushing the ending he went with. Ambiguous with more "well what now" questions but honestly that was never the point of Monster. Wasn't to answer every question but to put on display what could creature a monster and why they do what they do. Brutal in exaction, the last volume is a trail of bodies to give us some answers but we must decide what the ending truly is.

Monster is a masterpiece. Sure some slow moving parts here or there but when it all came together I couldn't be gladder I read this magnificent series.

Another solid issue though the bantering back and forth is a little much at points and the whole "Oh look what other series we got in here." felt a bit much too. However the humor was solid and the art still great, with Madman stealing the show.
