Bleach remains good but it is starting to feel like Daja Vu.

So basically it's just each member of Ichigo crew facing off against the new baddies who feel remarkably similar to the soul society members but without the deeper personalities and learning about the characters. I can't help but feel a bit bored. However, the art itself is pretty solid and the fights and style are fun. But the "hitting the heart" with giving Rukia more background came off as rather flat.

Either way decent volume.

What could have been a silly dumb premises turned out to be a rather funny, and by the end, heartfelt supernatural tale.

Mieruko-Chain can see the dead. She just chooses to ignore them. She doesn't want them knowing that she can see them. Mostly because she doesn't want them following her around everywhere. But when she goes to school and notices a lot of spirits following her best friend around she tries to find a solution to stop them from showing up so much. Hence we get plenty of funny situations and a rather sad and tender moment by the very end that made me want to read more.

It helps the art is great. The spirits are disgusting and scary looking, making for both a spooky and funny story to tell. The story has some fanservice moments but nothing over the top. Panty/bra shots but it goes in context with what the girls are doing and it leads to, again, funny situations I don't want to spoil. I also really enjoyed the ending and gave me the feels all in 3 pages.

Overall, def want to see more from this series. A 4 out of 5.

Let's get the best part about it out of the way first, the art is fantastic. Moody, creepy, interesting, mysterious, all in one. Not to mention the little girl is adorable.

We have a creature that's covered in what looks to be all black mist type stuff. Shiva is the little girl who he has been taken care of. The one rule is she is not allowed to touch him as she will turn into a monster like he is. So through the story you learn why they're being hunted, these creatures, and why Shiva is left in his care.

It's the fairytale like approach the got me hooked here. Almost like reading one of my favorite childhood stories I never knew about at 32 years old. The art is so captivating that I wanted to read more right away. I enjoyed this book a lot despite reading is quickly (Within 15 minutes I was done) and intrigued where we will go from here. A really great first outing.

Edit On Re-read: I really justify a 5 star here on a re-read simply because this is probably the last time we get a somewhat happy ending for a lot of characters. To watch them grow and also live with their actions is wonderful. I really liked Sevro's and Victra's growth in this book and even Darrow grows in ways I never expected, and makes choices that make sense as both a leader and a person. The ending is sweet, though in truth, it says things only get harder from here. Reading Iron Gold and especially Dark Age, this is very true.

I really give this one a 4.5 because I didn't love it AS much as Golden Son but it's too good to see a simple 4 star there.

So it comes to a end. The war is raging, the ending of the last book left you lost and depressed, and we see the outcome. We see the final few years all come to a close. My heart raced, I nearly cried, it was all so well written and paced. You can't help but feel we won't get another stunning trilogy like this again. While Red Rising had bumps it was fun. Golden Son to me is a near perfect book. And Morning Star is the finisher we all wanted and deserved. I can't go into details without giving spoilers but it ended in a emotional way, and fit the themes and tones the story was trying to play the whole time. I really can't wait for more from Pierce Brown.

As a big fan of the Angel show this was fun if not a bit safe.

Basically Angel after the actions in Buffy season 8 and killing a major character decides he wants to fix things. As always, he feels horrible for what he did, and wants to redeem himself. This time he asks Faith for help and together they do just that.

What works really well is Faith and Angel. Both together are wonderful, both funning and charming, and gives a lot of inseight into the minds of both. I really enjoyed watching them fight together and it feels just like it would if it was a TV show.

The plot itself is okay and the two evil twins are just typical so they didn't do much for me. Some of the art is solid with good fights, some not so much.

Overall, solid fun Angel/Faith action. If liked Angel the TV show you'll enjoy this!

A bunch of one shots of each character. I enjoyed some of them a lot, especially Death, Destruction, and Desire. The rest range from okay to meh (Despair was awful IMO) Worth if you enjoyed the main series but not must read. A 3 out of 5.

Dr. Stone ramps things up as we finally find a way to cure Ruri.

Senku and Ginro and Kinro along with Chrome figure a way to get a gas that'll help save Kohaku sister Ruri but it's extremely dangerous. With Senku asking Chrome to stay behind to ensure they still have a scientist just incase of the worse, things get a little crazy. We also begin the tournament arc for Ruri's hand in marriage and a couple of surprise guest come along to see if they can stop the bad guys from winning.

Again, this series is always interesting. Learning how to make glasses was awesome and as someone who wears them his whole life, I enjoyed learning about the process a lot. Suika is revealed in a rather cute and funny as hell way that made me burst out laughing. Kohaku has plenty of badass and funny moments to shine too.

I'm wondering where the hell Oki and Ogawa are and it seems like they're left behind. I hope we see them again soon. Other than that still enjoying this a lot. A 4 out of 5.

Probably one of the most famous anime movies of all time is Akira. I've read volume 1-2 of the manga awhile back and decided to give it a re-read. Do I still enjoy it? Short answer? Yes.

The story of Akira is interesting. It starts out as a bunch of high school delinquents being pretty shitty and one of them gets injured. This somebody gets experimented on and becomes, well, Akira, or so we're learning. A super powered human who can kill people just by thinking of it. If ever see Chronicle the movie this takes a lot from it.

And Akira still holds up pretty well to this day. The art is really strong with gigantic splash pages of action that you can easily follow. The expressions and environmental detail is all fantastic. The dialogue is solid and though semi-dated it still works for the most part.

Akira is known to be one of the great movies ever. And the movie's actual animation is insanely good still. But the story itself felt very repetitive at points. It seems like we just repeat the "Run, get away, run, wait they're chasing up, run!" over and over again. It felt a little too similar by the end. But still I will read on for everything else.

Yo, wtf is this? I'm hooked.

So this starts off with a teenager taking care of a kid in a random apartment building. Almost like a big sister, though gets weird at points, I'll get to that later. Either way our main character, Seto, decides to start a job to help her pay for the bills. About 1/3rd of the way in you start to unravel everything and let's just say...shit goes sideways quick. Blackmail, murder, and more all begins to pile up quickly.

To say this series is dark would be downplaying it. Every character seems to have a hidden agenda, every character a motive that is pretty sickening, and the "cutesy" parts to break it up are both jarring yet work to help push the series. The pacing is like a train wreck, quick and viscous, and then slows down just enough. The art solid and works.

I didn't love the weird romantic feel the two main characters have. For one is a way too young and feels weird. I don't know if that's what is going on but it came across that way.

Anyway, I'll be reading more for sure. A 4 out of 5.

So we finally get to the Toguro brothers.

The first arc is actually a rescue mission. It's short, builds characters like Hiei and Kuwabara get to shine and grow in interesting ways. We also get to see Toguro's first level of badass pumped up roid raged powers. The second arc gets us into the dark tournament, with the first match underway with my boy Kuwabara.

You know tournaments are a stable in anime. Dragon Ball basically starting the trend but man oh man does Yu Yu Hakusho basically master it to give us one of the best arcs of all time. The first match is a lot of fun here and though it seems goofy at times the end result is kind of messed up and shocking. The first arc is a bit disjointed and feels rushed forward but we do get to see Toguro be a badass so there's that.

Not the best arc, but a good bridge into the dark tournament. A 3.5 out of 5.
