So we finally get to the Toguro brothers.

The first arc is actually a rescue mission. It's short, builds characters like Hiei and Kuwabara get to shine and grow in interesting ways. We also get to see Toguro's first level of badass pumped up roid raged powers. The second arc gets us into the dark tournament, with the first match underway with my boy Kuwabara.

You know tournaments are a stable in anime. Dragon Ball basically starting the trend but man oh man does Yu Yu Hakusho basically master it to give us one of the best arcs of all time. The first match is a lot of fun here and though it seems goofy at times the end result is kind of messed up and shocking. The first arc is a bit disjointed and feels rushed forward but we do get to see Toguro be a badass so there's that.

Not the best arc, but a good bridge into the dark tournament. A 3.5 out of 5.
