Pretty decent Mutant story that covers using the media to hurt mutants, finding peace in being who you are, and trying to work together as a unit/team. Also dealing with some racism on there as well is always a X-Men type thing.
Overall, enjoyable if not pretty standard. Crazy since right after this series, Ed Brisson writes issue 13, which is a Sword Tie in, and it is the BEST new mutants issue across the board of the new run, better than both Brisson and hickman's previous New Mutants issues.
Very excited to see what Vita brings to the table. A 3 out of 5.

This is probably the best volume so far.
Yoruichi and Soi Fon starts the volume and we get a little background on both. It's actually handled fairly well and the fight is intense and well done. Quick, which sums up both characters really well. Then we have Ichigo vs Byakuya, and this is the battle we've been waiting for. When Byakuya unleashes one of his best attacks and Ichigo just slaps it away we get the battle reaching a all time high when both characters must unlock their ultimate forms...BANKAI!
The fights are fast paced, brutal, epic, and fantastical. This is purely a action volume but it also has a lot of heart because there is stakes and Rukia life is still in danger. The sheer determination of ichigo pushing himself to his very limits to protect someone he loves is great. It helps the art is on point and the fight is actually pretty easy to follow yet looks great.
Overall, this is what the entire arc was building towards and payed off. Then the next arc begins to form at the very end with a big cliffhanger here. A 4.5 out of 5.

A virus hits like a tidal wave. Within 4 months over 400,00 Million are dead. No this isn't the Covid, but it sure feels like it, but even deadlier.
The idea this came out even before the Covid was a thing is scary. This virus goes through people like nothing, deforming and killing them extremely quickly. This first volume is a mix of political storyline of what to do while the virus is happening, then flash forward of what to do after. This is also a story of people who survived the deadly disease, and some who did, who were infected and came out alive after, developed powers. Only 5% survived this disease, but 5% of 400+ million is still A LOT. And they have the power to change the world now...but can they? Will they? And who will stop them?
I really enjoyed this. At first I was gonna say this is just "great" but the last issue pushed me to the top and I fell in love with it. Very gritty in nature of what's happening yet always interesting. If politics aren't your thing this may not fully work for you but I loved that part. Trying to decide to do the right or wrong thing is very interesting. Issue 3 really stands out as a fantastic issue of the government trying to use the people with "powers" to make "Superheroes" and "Super villains" and in a way this is a genius idea, because the government would 100% make this happen to promote things.
While it feels like we JUST scratch the surface of most characters because so many are thrown at you, when people die...and they do die...it's pretty goddamn brutal and you feel it. By the end I was both devastated on what happen to characters but also eager to see where it goes. If you're a writer who has basically retired for awhile, THIS is the way to come back. Both writing and art is fantastic.

Starts off really interesting and I was on board...even if the art was awful. But by the end of issue 1 we go from Batman trying to do better as a hero and clean up the streets of Gotham to a huge battle with Lex and I really don't give two shits about this...booooooooooooooooooooring.
Not gonna rate this cause couldn't get far. I usually like bendis but I can't get into Legion. They're just boring as shit no matter the writer.
Whoa this was WAY more fun than I expected.
Not to say I expected something bad here. This is Joe Hill, and even at his worst, he still always tells a interesting tale. No, I was expecting a gritty horror book based on the cover but I was glad to be wrong, this was over the top, horror fun, with a 80's vibe, and super interesting colors/art design.
Our main character, June, is visiting her boyfriend Liam over the summer. This guy is training to be a police officer of some sort and has been living with the chief of police at his house for the summer. Soon into the story we learn 4 convicts have escaped and they are coming after Liam! June is on the run and when they come after her too she has no choice but to fight back with her AXE!
This is super fun, over the top, and kind of loved it. June is a great protagonist, weird, exciting, and full of life. It's her actual strangeness yet her eagerness to help people that made me love her. Then you have the rest of the cast, who are all pieces of shit, but man oh man are they fun to have around. When June has to fight back you root for her 1000% and it's so much fun.
The art is fantastic. a Mix of cartoony 80's style art, but also light and colorful at times mixed with gritty moments. The emotions are clearly displayed and love the way a lot of the characters are design.
The ending is fantastic wrap up and well worth the read here. This was one of my favorite horror comics/books I read recently because of its playfulness. A 4.5 out of 5 but I'll bump it to a 5.

A strange horror tale that I was both into and yet couldn't even remember the main characters name?
The look and feel of this is pretty cool, dark, and scary. But the characters didn't really grab my attention. With a cool idea, a woman is assaulted by some demon thing and her boyfriend kidnapped and this title is mostly focused on PTSD. And for the most part it works though sometimes I think it went TOO fast through bigger moments but some hit well. I also think the overall design of the creatures/demons/red mother all look pretty great. I don't know how I feel about the main character or her side cast yet though.
Interesting enough to read more but not blown away. A 3 out of 5.

Superman getting to figure things out with Lois, Damien telling his mother off, his mother and Lois fighting...I mean this is everything I ever wanted.
Go Go Power Rangers is like my go-to when I want to read something light, fun, yet with a lot of heart.
With Rita evil ass on a mission to find a special mission we have poor Trini and Jason transported to a new world. A world in which they change not only their suits (So Jason is yellow ranger, Trini is Red Ranger) but can read each others mind. Jason finds out Trini is in love with him, while she finds out something is happening with Jason's father.
On the flipside Zack and Billy trying to find a way to save them while Kim goes on a date with the last person you'd expect. However, when all rangers have to work together the story really shines and the ending to this is a great build up on what is to come. Oh and the art, perfection. Everyone looks great and the fights are fun to view. Again, nothing MINDBLOWING but damn fun and Ryan Parrott really got the voice for every character down so well.

I think fans of Ghost Rider will get more out of this than me. I never really read any besides Robbie Rayes story (Which is awesome) so I didn't get any connection with these characters. Saying that, it is still pretty entertaining watching two Ghost Riders go at it.
When Johnny returns from hell as the king he is trying to round up a bunch of demons and bring them back. He at first ask Danny for help and his half brother says no thanks. BUT soon Danny learns Johnny might have lost it and now has to stop his brother from doing batshit crazy things. On top of that we get a story previous to all this of another Ghost Rider who is going head to head with Absoulte Carnage crazy ass.
Overall, fun, fast paced, and easy to read. Nothing amazing but always entertaining anyway. A lot of the characters do badass things, because their head is on FIRE so how can they not be badasS? There's a moment Johnny kills a guy by using the stare and it is brutal.
If like Ghost Rider you'll probably enjoy this. A 3 out of 5.
