This was a pretty fun little self-contained story of thor, Tony, and Steve trapped in a far away land trying to get back to humanity. Works especially well if veen reading since house of M. Fun and well done if not a little cheesy and predictable. A 3.5 out of 5.

Sadly a bit on the slower side in terms of plot. However, it has an amazing moment with Damien and Clark that is well worth the read. Not as good as issue 2-3 but better than 1. A 3 out of 5.

Wow this sometimes was amazing, other times it was a headache to read.

Tomasi is easily one of my favorite DC writers of all time. However, Bizzaro here is freaking annoying. Everything you read has to be opposite, and it makes it annoying to read half of this story if not more. There's some nice moments, mostly with Bizzaroboy and Jon but I didn't love this volume. While I think the first half of Tomasi Superman run is FANTASTIC and Super sons is great, this second half kind of falls off and I can see why we moved on to a new writer/artist.

Saying that it does have some great moments and some amazing art. A 3 out of 5.

Goddamn this series gets dark.

I'm actually surprised how surprised I get reading this. I usually can see most things coming but the twist and turns here are so out of left field I never do see it coming. I mean it moves at a brisk pace, and just when you think you found a friend, something horrible happens. I'm being extremely vague because anything I say for this volume is a spoiler, but with a neat little time skip, plenty of death, and sadness, this is well worth the read if you like darker tales. A 4.5 out of 5.

A nice monster clash comic-like-movie with huge racial underlines.

This is about a family who doesn't seem very connected but all working together to purify monsters or in some cases kill them. Most of these monsters are broken souls tainted by darkness to do horrible acts of violence. However, when one of their own in the family is infected they most band together to find out what is happening.

I really enjoyed this for the most part. Fast read, easy, and super fun. I like the message, and the racial issues it covers work really well here. I also dug the atmosphere here, very urban-fantasy which is my favorite type of fantasy mixed with solid humor. But I expected that from David F. Walker. A 4 out of 5.

The turtles return to the big apple to get back to what they do best, kicking bad guys butts.

But it's not as simple as that. Each one is trying to find how to heal themselves still. On top of that Mikey and Ralph go check up on their big friendly turtle but what is old hob up to? Oh a little kidnapping? Sounds about right. Leo and Splinter work on their healing but are met with the RAT KING! Last but not least is Donatello and April trying to work with their scientist buddy. Oh and Casey is dealing with daddy issues but what's new?

I'm actually amazed how many characters are introduced to this series and yet I'm enjoying each one. Despite a large cast it always feels well crafted and paced. I love the interactions with everyone and even with the turtles apart they all feel like they're getting good amount of page time. I think this is pushing the series to new heights and while I only read a little bit of the classic, this is really well done. A 4.5 out of 5.

So this is the end.

I started first collection years ago and finally got to the end of Johns run. First let me say the guy truly did make Green Lantern a much bigger more expansive world after this. A lot of writers will have a hard time matching up to it all.

But this volume focuses on the end of the pre-new52 era and the start of the new 52 era. So basically brightest day and also Senistro becoming a green lantern again while finishing up with the wrath of the first lanthern. I reviewed each volume individually so if want all my view points for each arc can read them there.

I think Johns does a solid job finishing his run. A highlight being his final issue with a time skip to give closure to a lot of characters. Of course things will change but it worked well here. I also really dug the evolution of Senistro here and what he had become. Hal moved from my least favorite Lantern to 5th place, so not bad. (Sorry Kyle, Jessica, Simon, and Guy are all better human Lanterns) but the storylines themselves are pretty solid in this last collection.

While not as magical and bombastic as Senistro war in the first omnibus or as dark and gory as Blackest night in the second omnibus collection, we do end on a accumulation of all things green lantern with the first lantern. Probably the biggest threat John has ever made.

I think each Omnibus is very much worth reading. Johns did a outstanding job. A 4.5 out of 5.

The First lantern. The one who gave emotion to the corps. The one who began it all. The omnipotent being who is now really fucking mad because the dumbass guardians kept his ass locked up. So what does he want? Well to rearrange everything!

This is actually a pretty freaking epic crossover. With the first lantern out he begins to dissect each major lantern because he feeds off their emotion. What he does is give you alternate paths in the past to trick you into feeling emotions. He especially focuses on Guy and Kyle which makes for the most interesting "What if" storylines.

But this title spans between Green lantern, New Guardians, green lantern corps, and red lanterns. And it hits on almost all of them really well. Even the red lantern stuff, which is always the least interesting for me, works decent here.

The final issue for each series really hits home. Especially the Green Lantern one and Green lantern corps. Though I do think New Guardians does wonders for Kyle's character development, and then Red lantern is extremely dark...which is what that series is about.

Overall, a fine ending to a lot of runs here. I dunno if Green lantern will EVER be this epic again. A 4.5 out of 5.

It's been two years since I read Sandman. Not that I disliked it, I thought volume 1 was solid, and I REALLY enjoyed volume 2. But I just had so much on my backlog and Sandman is a pretty heavy read. Still, I saw my complete collection sitting on the shelf and figured why not read volume 3. This one is basically 4 individual stories kind of connected with Morpheus in the background or somewhere in the story.

First story is about Calliope and it's kind of disturbing. A writer has a bad case of writer's block. He's freaking out badly and decides to find a famous writer and ask for help. The old man who had kidnapped the muse Calliope offers her to the new writer to give him ideas. The writer gladly accepts and upon getting her back to his house rapes her. This gives him new ideas. Disturbing? Very much so. But Gaiman just taps into the psyche of a sicko who would do anything for fame, and this guy fits the bill. When Dream finds out goes to see what he can do.

You also have a story about the past and present of cats and their life. What they are, and how they are enslaved. The next one is A Midsummer Night's Dream and it's my least favorite story. While the cat story was weird but interesting, this one was kind of boring despite a couple of spots I enjoyed.

Gaiman luckily saves the best for last. Façade is about Urania Blackwell, who is element girl. She wants to die but it's not easy. Anything she does she can survive, and having a "disgusting" body makes her hate herself. She's scared she'll never dies. But Death, aka the best character, comes to visit her.

This is a pretty solid collection of stories. I'll be honest only the last one really blew me away. Though I do like the first two as well. But Summer really dragged it down for me and it's probably the longest one. Saying that this is still a 3.5 out of 5.

I only bought this because it was on sale on Comixlogy. It has iffy reviews (3.5/5 is pretty low for Manga on here). And I wasn't too sure I'd enjoy it. Actually, when I cracked it open on my tablet I wasn't too invested in the first 30-40 pages.

This was about 6 childhood friends all working together towards their dream. They want to use Magik and use it to get far in life. They want to graduate school and go out on an adventure! But one of them might not be able to contain it. Two of them are messing around and fucking each other when one of them might be in love with another. A new member enters the group and it feels off beat. And while the atmosphere remains very happy at the start it soon turns sour.

And that's where the series began to draw me in. It's unsettling when the first major death happens. But it only gets more screwed up the further we go into this world. It's life or death and you can die at any time which puts this series in a interesting spot between typical and "whoa" moments. I think the benefit is the mystery, and world building, is all pretty strong. I want to learn more as I went on. The action is easy to follow and brutal, so if you like things like Berserk or Goblin Slayer this will work for you.

Now it's said when you buy the title but this is 18+ only. There's a few graphic scenes. Actually there's a full on sex scene between two girls and it's about as graphic as full blown porn so be prepared. At first the fan service annoyed me but the time I got to the actual sex scene it made sense because it actually helps two characters grow and their backstory.

So overall, it's uneven but I can't help but be interesting. So i bought the next few volumes on sale too. A 3.5 out of 5.
