Just like the last volume, I was teetering towards a 3, but then those last two issues happened.
So the first half is more world building. Actually the most so far, with Hickman's famous big ass charts explaining everything. On top of that we get little more story of Death and his next move as well as what the Horseman and the leaders of the different nations will do. Then the last two issues focus on Babylon and his adventures to become a independent warrior!
The first half didn't grab my attention much. I like world building but felt too heavy at times. However, the 2nd half kicks in, and it's fantastic. Great dialogue, building babylon (The beast) into such a interesting character who is learning everything of the outside world. On top of that the art stays goddamn amazing.
Overall some great stuff in the later half makes me give this a 4 out of 5.

A lazy and boring finish with hopes of a future project looking like less and less. What happened here? Give me good Green Arrow stories again please.
This was a nice fun surprise.
MJ is off on a new movie set, but she's the first to realize the director is not who he says he is. It's actually Mysterio! But all he wants to do is make art. A movie that will live on forever. So MJ agrees to keep his secret and together they try to make this movie that'll change the world. But at every turn they hit a snag, from money loss, losing actors, and getting attack by the Sinister Six!!! Will they be able to finish?
MJ is a great lead. She's always been a really good character but to let her shine here was really nice. Also Mysterio made me laugh a few times, it was a nice change of pace. The art was cartoony but fit the narrative. I mean nothing happened was a surprise or blew my mind. I think it's a very cliche story in ways but the charm of it keeps it from being dull.

James Tynion IV has come a long way. He was always a solid writer but goddamn his recent output has been great.
Something is killing children is by far the best horror book since Sink for me. So now that we got that out of the way, what is it about?
Well it starts off like any good spooky story, with a spooky ghost story. James, our main character, begins to tell all his friends at a sleepover about a creature in the woods. Ohhhhh scary, huh? Well except soon after all these kids end up slaughtered, ripped apart, and killed in disturbing ways. All James was trying to do was tell a damn story....
Soon into the first issue a mysterious girl with a skull mask comes out of the woods, bloody, holding a big ass butcher like knife. With cryptic dialogue a little girl asks her if the big bad monsters are gone and this bloody young woman assures her all is good.
When James and this mysterious monster hunter meet things get even weirder, better, and scary.
Honestly, this is easily one of the most captivating books of the year already. With amazing dialogue, really good pacing, excellent tone and art, and a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more, it's gotta be on everyone's recommended list. A super easy 5 out of 5.

Holy shit....
Decender is hitting the boiling point. With everyone coming together now, nobody is safe. The end results of Tim 22 storyline is here. Will Andy and Tim 21 meet again? What will happen to the Doctor? So many questions and SO many answers, but can't tell you any because it is all spoilers.
Overall, loved this volume. Fast paced, lot of emotional beats, some cool world building even this late into the series, and plenty of great action scenes. Decender is easily shaping up to be one of the classics down the line. A 5 out of 5.

Geez I'm blowing through books right now because of this virus. It's nice, but also no money is coming in, so I'm sad. Comics are saving me!
Locke and Key heats up. The evil creature has taken one of our family members and is planning for its turn at killing them all. Then soon into the book we get the background. We learn ALL about the Locke's family past. All about big old pops and when he was a teenager with his group of friends and how they dealt with the keys.
This is actually a really sad volume. You can feel every step of the way the worst and worst is about to come. SO many deaths, so many twist, so much sadness. This is amazing volume with so much emotion and great art to help tell the story. Overall, you HAVE to read this series.

Whoa this was SUPER fun.
Dead Eyes used to be a hero, well in a way. More like a Robin Hood of sorts. He killed bad guys when they needed to be dealt with, he also fought criminals, and then he would rob a bank because he needed the money. This was all back in his hay days, in the 90's. We are reintroduced to Dead Eyes as a middle aged man named Martin who is wiping his ass standing up because his hemorrhoids hurt so much.
After years of being out of the crime life he enters it again simply because he's out of money. After his wife suffers a seizure and he decides he needs the money. Rob a bank? Go after a crime boss? Why the hell not.
Overall, this was SUPER fun. I wasn't really expecting to like this as much as I did. Lots of fun humor that landed, great art with awesome action pieces, and also it's just too enjoyable not to enjoy especially with the main heroes. The story itself might not be super original but when done this well, how can you dislike it?

Loved the first half, last two issues were decent.
Bendis decides to have our heroes go on a fun multiverse trip. This leads them into some interesting worlds, one with talking bunny superheroes and such. But we also have a nice trip to earth 3 (The evil earth) and get to see our heroes face up against their evil counterpart. On top of that we finally might be getting home but is home really where the heroes are meant to be?
The first half is fun and exciting. I loved their interactions, especially Bart, Drake, and Connor. I also enjoyed the background of two of the newer members and found it to help me relate to them more. On top of that the art is great, and has some fantastic fight scenes mostly with superboy involved. The last two issues feel oddly paced, and also kind of confusing at points. Also not a fan of getting to a point in progress and then reverting backwards for the sake of it.
But overall, still very enjoyable. I know Bendis isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I'm digging his Young Justice a lot.

This was fine. Should be better.
You have an unlikely team with Starfire, Cyborg, Jessica (Green Lantern) and Azurle or however spell his name. Religious Batman dude. Anyway they all go into space because of the events of Justice No More. Why? Who knows. But they find out people look up to them like gods and then they are unsure of themselves. BUT wait, Darkseid is here, why!? The mystery builds as a heroes try to band together to save the universe.
The art is pretty. The fights are cool. Some fun interactions, especially with Jessica. But this is the most typical superhero comic I've read in awhile. Band together, break apart, come back together, save the day. Lame. Darkseid was cool though.
I'll check out volume 2 down the line because I heard it gets better. But this is just a 2.5 out of 5.

After a long break I decided to return to Powers, and what a book to pick it back up on!
This one starts off with a big news report on a group of superheroes. At one point they were the biggest group of superheroes around, worth a shit load of money, and then suddenly they all begin to die. Explosion from the inside, some suicide squad shit going on. So of course we have our heroes, Walker and Pilgrim on the case. But as always, the truth is a lot darker than what is presented at the start.
Overall, this was probably the most bombastic book yet. Filled with some great chase scenes and a killer fight scene. Also, the art feels better and better, and so much like a awesome cartoon. I also enjoyed the emotional connection here with a really great moment at the end and middle of the story. The only thing I didn't love was the panels, as at times they can be confusing the order when it's a spread page or not.
Overall, easily the best volume of the series so far. Now we're talking! A 4 out of 5.
