Venom Volume 3 is a great companion piece to Absoulte Carnage (Which you should read) but by itself, I can see why some Venom fans might not enjoy it as much as volume 1-2.
You have Brock starting off the volume trying to make enough money to pay for Dylan's medicine since he's sick. This is mostly him trying to be a reporter again but maybe what he finds isn't so easy to report on. Next up is all the Carnage tie ins. This actually focuses on Dylan and his survival from the deadly Carnage crew.
I liked this volume a lot mostly because I like Dylan. He's fun, courageous, and now something new is happening to him. We also get to see the Maker being a ruthless piece of shit, so that's always fun. It also fills in the blanks from the event which is nice. Though it seemed shorter than usual and went by too quick.
Overall good stuff. Not as good as the last volume but very enjoyable. A 3.5-4 out of 5.

Okay so this author really nails creepy and weird without being...like outwardly creepy.
Well between this, Inside Mari, and Flower of Evil we've gotten a lot of weirdness coming from Shuzo. But in this he takes a really simple concept and makes it...creepy. So Seiichi Osabe is our main character here and we slowly learn about his life. Going to school, having friends, his crush, and...HIS MOM. Why is his mom so special?
Well she loves Seiichi Osabe a bit TOO much. No, not incest way you weirdos. You thought I was going there, huh? Goddamn you Game of Thrones.
But the fact she always will protect her child. Now having a little girl I feel the same but she's so overprotecting that even her best friend makes fun of her a little. So anyway, Seiichi Osabe feels a little off put by all that "love". But the story progresses and the deeper get into the family dynamic the more uneasy you become until the last 30-40 pages or so. Then...well lets just say this jumps from 0 to 100 real quick.
Real life horror is my favorite type. No need for a big monster, or gory deaths, when people do horrible things to each other and you can see it every day. Blood on tracks tells a rather ordinary tale with the offbeat atmosphere and gives you the chills. And while it might seem a tad boring at first getting to know the family it moves at a brisk pace and the ending will leave you wanting more.

What ifs could be fun, and there's some great fun to be had, even if some are really bad.
So first off let me tell you this is padded out because at the end it contains all the actual stories, well part of them, like Superman's death, bane breaking the bat, and so on.
The other half is the actual what if stories. So we have what if superman died and Lois lost it. What if Batman's back was broken and his replacement took over. What if Infinite Crisis didn't happen because Blue Beetle didn't die. What if Judas Contract was different. What if blackest night was even darker.
Each story has some fun to it. The weakest are for sure blackest night and Judas Contract what if. Both over the top, silly, stupid, and very fucked up for the sake of it. The Bane breaking bat what if is pretty solid though the ending is whatever. Infinite crisis is the most interesting and radical change. The lois getting superman like powers is by far the most emotional and contains some great moments.
Overall, not a bad collection. If want something different check these out. A 3 out of 5.

Donny Cates run on Guardians ends on a solid note.
We finally see Rocket in his final days. He's really not doing too good. On top of that most of the guardians are now kidnapped by the church of crazy fucking cult like assholes. You know, typical religion. With most of them, including Starlord kidnapped, Groot goes to recruit a couple of friends, including his trusty raccoon. But will he be able to?
As much as I enjoy 90% of Cates output, this is on the weaker side. This isn't to say it's bad, it really isn't. The moments with Rocket and Groot are wonderful, it still moves at a fun quick pace, and there's some great action moments. Saying that, it wraps up to nicely and cates knew another writer was going to change everything soon after. Also, Starlord seems really dumb at points here, which is odd.
Overall, good stuff, fun, but I can see why Cates himself acknowledges this as one of his weaker books. Saying that it is still pretty fun! A 3 out of 5.

Ewing just can't seem to make a bad Hulk Arc.
Just when you think Al Ewing is hitting every horror genre, body horror, gore horror, or just general monster horror. He decides to go into the biggest horror of them all..political horror.
When hulk's followers begin to rally in his name, the head of Roxxon, Dario Agger from War of Realms wants to take hulk down. But in a fight? He can't win. Hulk is just too powerful. What if he can get the media on his side? What if he can create his own Hulk like savior. What if Hulk's mission is too far gone from the people?
Somehow Ewing does even a political story with the Hulk insanely interesting. From the thought of people revolting to fight for the hulk, or in the name of, to the "White Messiah" style storyline this is heading towards, everything adds up. Dario Agger is a piece of shit but he works well as one and despite his huge size, its his brains that is the scary part. The art still is solid and some epic fight scenes follow. My only negative is it feels a bit rushed at the later half of this arc.
Overall, Hulk is damn good once again. I'm hoping it stays in the 4 or 5 star range because this is Hulk's strongest run by far. A 4 out of 5.

This was about to be the weakest volume for me, and not in a bad way since it's a lot of world building....but then that last issue hit.
So this volume is a big volume of how the world leaders are dealing with everything. It's filled of a lot of politics, and while interesting, is the slower half of these stories. Then we see what Death is dealing with after someone fucked up his one lead. On top of that we're also dealing with the 3 other horsemen and their mission.
The stuff with death is great. Watching him go head to head with someone is badass and fun. The stuff with Death's son is AMAZING. Both thrilling and scary, the "beast" as they call him is perfect. On top of that we get plenty of nice twist and turns and a big meeting filled with plenty of death. The world building is a lot though and the pace comes to a complete halt on that part.
overall, another great volume. It's easy to see why East of West is held in such high regards now. A 4 out of 5.

Naked pornstar with big boobies who can turn giant? What's not to like.
I'll be honest I grabbed this because of the Author. I have a soft spot for Gantz series and always enjoyed it (even if it gets fucking stupid at times). So this is all about a 16 year old teenager who by mistake meets his favorite porn actress by taking signs off the streets about her. He's a film student, or wants to be, and that's the best part of the manga. Learning about what he wants to do growing up and watching that part.
But the other side is about this woman who gets ambushed by a injured man on the ground who places a device on her and she grows giant. of course growing giant makes her explode out of her clothes. She also deals with an abusive boyfriend who beats her.
This is a weird manga. It's interesting, but some of the dialogue is cringe and the story idea seems...dumb? But at the same time I was never bored and somewhat interested to see where it goes. For now it's a 3 out of 5.

Just as batshit crazy as the first volume. The thing is, when reading it, I'm having good time. It's funny, there's big huge battles, it moves so quickly. All is that is great. But I never get connected to the characters, can't even remember their names. Which sucks. But for a breezy, super fun, action packed comic it's not bad. A 3 out of 5.
The Terrifics are the fantastic four of DC now.
But this wasn't half bad.
After the events of Metal we have these 4 all stuck together. If they try to leave or not stay close they die. It's a fun idea, something different, and makes for a new dynamic for a lot of these characters. While I didn't love the main story here, I did enjoy all the character interactions. I'll give volume 2 a chance, and maybe even volume 3 because of the new writer. While it didn't blow me away it was interesting enough to try more.
P.S. Plastic Man was actually pretty funny. A 3 out of 5.

We fall deeper into the story as everyone goes through life changing moments in this volume.
Fucking Tim 22 man, what a fucking bitch ass robot.
Anyway, this picks up where volume 2/3 ended. Tim 22 is chasing our boy Tim 21, and it's not looking good. We find out a new secret with the humans and what they've been doing. On top of that we get to see Tim 22 new plan. Effe and Andy are trying to decide if they can even work together anymore. Oh and my dude Driller is NOT having a good day.
Lots of crazy stuff happens that I can't spoil. We go to a new planet, new backstabbing moments, plenty of cool build up and plot progression, and some emotion bits that made me sad. Decender continues to be one of the best Sci-fi comics in the last few years.
