This was...something. I don't even have all the words for it.
So I'm still trying to grasp this whole situation. In a shit-like world we have our main characters, one that has the head of a lizard named Caiman, while the other is a badass female named Nikaido. Together they try their best to live in this world while "magic users" come into their area and try to murder them. Why is this all happening? It's kind of confusing. Caiman was cursed to be a lizard man, but he is now immune to magic. And why they are coming after him? I'm not too sure.
The story tries to balance the main leads with also giving a look into the magic users. Most are pricks, assholes, or just strange as hell. I'm assuming these are the bad guys while Caiman and Nikaido are good. But then again they also chop people's heads off and so on.
It's all pretty confusing at the start but by the end of the book I atleast got a plot and get where they're heading. It's interesting to say the least, and the dialogue is pretty natural which is nice, and the violence and action is high end and entertaining. Some of the plotting is confusing and I'm not in love with the art all the time. But overall I'd def want to see where this is going. A 3.5 out of 5.

Yo, what the fuck of the fuck?
Seriously, this series is just spazzing out. First we have this crazy ass guy finally flip and use the abomination to create a new villain in himself. But before that he does some hunting to take down all of Hulks "friends". Then after that the Hulk goes face to face with the beast but this time the guy is ready for him. Issue 25 though? What in the world?
This is the most insane comic Hulk has ever been in. I'll be honest, I didn't love issue 25 cause I didn't understand the ending zinger, mostly cause not a huge hulk fan before this. BUT everything before it? Everything leading up to it? Epic. Scary. This hulk feels like a REAL monster.
Is hulk ever gonna let up? OR Will it go down as a classic? Thinking a classic.

This was cute, fun, and probably not really for me LOL.
I think Kelly Thompson is a very talented writer. She has a lot of good voices for multiple characters. I also think Sabrina is a character that can work in any decade, she's charming, sweet, and badass. So Kelly decides to update her, make it more modern, more school problems as always, while also dealing with the wicked magical side of the world. This creates a fun, sometimes dangerous, but also witchy experience.
If you're a fan of Sabrina I think you'll enjoy this. It's charming and fun, and that was the main selling point. Even the art is bubbly and cute with some scary monsters on the side. I didn't love it though as I enjoyed the darker side of the "chilling adventures of Sabrina" but I can see people eating up this new series. A 3 out of 5 for me.

Locke and Key kicks it up a notch with everything coming to an explosive ending for this volume.
Up until now the Locke kids have gotten together to take down the evil forces around their town and in their own home. Dodge makes some big moves, and just when you think our heroes have a chance to find out what she/he really is...well let's just say things don't go there way. Plenty of high school drama, past reveals, murders and more all come to a head in this amazing volume.
And it is just that. Amazing. I enjoyed the series up till now but this is a fantastic volume with a lot of tension on every page. I really enjoyed the background, learning about Dodge, but it's when the Locke children are in danger that you really feel it. Not to mention the art is great, really adding a overall campy feel but when the violence strikes, it can be extremely disturbing.
I can't wait to read the final two volumes. THIS is amazing so far. A 5 out of 5.

Tom Taylor wraps up his run with our Spidy hero. What the heck Marvel? You give this man only two books on and on. Superior Iron Man, X-Men Red, and now this? Why? All these series are good. Give us least 3 or 4.
Anyway, enough of that, what is this about? It's all about Spidy going through some crazy adventures. Covering things like going back to underground, teaming up with Fantastic four, dealing with Aunt May's disease, and even having a whole issue mostly around Mary Jane and her daily life with the web crawler.
The thing that works well with Taylor's Spider-man is it is light hearted and fun. It's also a easy read, with multiple characters making cameos and working well. I think the best issue is the last, and you could tell Taylor loved writing this series, but the sendoff was sweet, and made me tear up almost. The other stories range from good to great. It never reaches "Whoa amazing" status for me but it's good throughout.
It's a shame Taylor's run ends here. I know he's heading back into the X-men world soon with his dawn of X title announced. But I'd love to see him take on Spider-man again. A 4 out of 5.

Taylor finishes his run up solid enough.
Cassandra is making big moves and Jean is trying her best to stay ahead of her. This all comes to a head when Jean sends her X-Men to stop her while Cassandra has other plans and decides to attack Atlantis. This starts with a bang but can the epic start of it all keep up through the whole volume or do we die down?
Well with my ratings it is a little easy to see. I loved the first two issues. Exciting, fun, and the action is high end. Some great character moments throughout as well. However, the ending is mega predictable and at times the series can feel really preachy. Overall Red was a solid run of X-Men stories but I can't say it was amazing.

Whoa I got SUPER bored of this half way through. I can't even remember much of the storyline. The art was solid enough though. But super skippable.
The end is here.
Or is this the start?
After finally finishing Hickman's entire Fantastic Four, Avengers, and New Avengers run I picked up Secret Wars. The conclusion of all 3, plus other plots throughout the marvel universe. In this, right at the start, the world has ended. 616 and ultimate universe collide and...it's over? Wait, no, a new world is born. One with a new god. Who is this god? Well who else, it is DOOM! That's right, Doom is here and he is now God-level powered.
Slowly heroes trickle in from the normal world to confront Doom. This could be your typical superhero flare but Hickman smartly asks the questions of who else but Doom could have done what he has?
The thing I loved here was seeing both heroes and villains come together. They knew they had to in order to stop doom. Unlikely to stop someone with so much power but plenty of shocking deaths. Moments that'll make you go "holy shit" as a marvel fan. I was taken aback by some deaths actually. The art is also amazing, with amazing action set pieces and and also plenty of emotional moments.
My one downside is that it wrapped up slightly fast. I heard Hickman wanted 2-3 more issues. I could see that.
However, after reading all those runs this was one of the only ways he could finish it and I think he mostly stuck the landing. A 4 out of 5.

I read the first volume years ago and enjoyed it. I finally decided to get back into it after recently reading their Death note one shot because I enjoyed it so much. So how was it?
Well the good news is it is super easy to jump back in to it. So last we heard the boys got accepted for their story. But not in Jump, they need to prove themselves more. So in doing so they begin to change their style of both writing AND art. At the same time we get a much bigger picture on how the insides of Jump magazine work. Especially the editor side which is pretty great, how they learn what is popular, and how a series stays in print.
This series is extremely enjoyable when it comes to learning about the inner workings of Manga, how it is created, and the business side. It also helps that the two main leads are very different yet work so well together. One is more outgoing and fun, but also determined, the other is calculated and also determined. Which together they push each other well.
While the ending is interesting and I'm curious where the two will go next, the love plot is still probably the weakest part. I just don't care much for it, even if it has its moments. However, the main focus is Manga creating, and it is well done. So I'll for sure keep reading this one!
