Been awhile since I jumped back into Rebirth Green Arrow. Now that the final volume just came out (even though series has been done for like 8 months) I decided to catch-up on the final two volumes. How does Benson do? Well pretty good.

First we have a tie in with No Justice. The less said about that portion the better. Now we move on to the main story. This is about Citizen. He's a new villain (or hero to some) in town who wants to take revenge on the 1% and rich, especially those who got away with crimes. At the same time this volume deals with the aftermath of Oliver losing Roy.

I think the story actually worked here. While Oliver is a self proclaimed SJW, he hasn't met someone as extreme as Citizen. So it makes for a interesting look into the difference of what is right and wrong and how Citizen uses the public to become judge, jury, and exacutioner. I also think Black Canary and Oliver together works well, Julie has a knack for solid dialogue. Also the Roy funeral issue is fantastic.

The art seems offbeat half the time, maybe muddy, and doesn't flow as well. Also, the tie in No justice issue is meh at best.

Overall good. A nice change of pace compared to Ben's run that ran out of steam. Not amazing but enjoyable. A 3.5 out of 5.

I thought this was pretty fun. I'm a little shocked some people here hate it.

This still deals with Jennifer and her PDST. Except someone else is now infected with a formula that turns THEM into a monster. So Jennifer now has to be the one outside looking in, while also dealing with her healing process. A little bit more humor at the end as the final issue is Jennifer going out on a date.

Besides the date issue, which wasn't all that good, the rest was pretty solid. A respectable look into loss, self hatred, and becoming whole again. Half the time Jennifer is barely holding herself together, so it makes her a far more interesting character this time around. The fights are pretty fun too.

Overall, not amazing, but hardly the dud I expected. A 3 out of 5.

Short review - Doctor Strange has another solid volume by Mark Waid. While his run hasn't blown me away it stays fun. The first issue here is really enjoyable and cute. I also enjoyed the issue of Strange getting his hands back, making him want to be a surgeon again. This could be great stuff for the future. The annual was overly long and kind of boring though. Overall a 3 out of 5.

Ahmed gets miles voice 100%

This story is basically about Miles getting kidnapped and tortured. And it sounds super bleak, but it somehow keeps up with hope. While that's happening, his father and uncle and mother must work together to rescue him. On top of that Green Goblin from the ultimate universe is here! What is happening? Oh yeah and it is Miles birthday too!

This is a jammed pack volume with a lot of wonderful family interactions. I loved Miles with his family and friends. I thought him being kidnapped was both scary and exciting. I loved Green Goblin showing his big goblin ass again. I loved almost all of this. The only thing I disliked it went so fast. Just when I was getting into it it ended. 6 issues a volume people, we need it!

Overall great stuff. Ahmed is doing great things for miles.

Captain Marvel continues to be an entertaining series.

The first two issues deal with the War of Realms stuff. Though instead of being some big epic crossover, it's basically Dr. Strange and Captain Marvel switch bodies. In doing so, this brings up some really funny situations, and also allows the war of realms not to overstay its welcome. Then the 2nd half of this is Captain Marvel losing her powers for some reason and then a new hero showing up, Star, who can be the key to why this is all going wrong.

Overall, this is pretty entertaining. It mostly helps that Thompson clearly loves Carol and Co. and Decides to put them in interesting situations. Star is...unique. I think the twist on her works well enough, and makes the fights fantastic. I think the silly two parter in the start is fun and thankful it was only couple of issues. The actual art is pretty good though in the two parter at the start it could range from pretty awful at times. Also, the ending didn't do much for me.

Overall, not amazing, but good, solid, and fun. I give it a 3.5 but I'll bump it to a 4 because this is by far the best run of Captain Marvel in a long time.

Another great volume in an amazing series.

This time we have all three boys going undercover. The wives of Tengen, a high rank Demon Slayer, have all gone missing. A demon in a district has gotten them. So Tengen sends the boys to dress up as woman and infilitrate the business to find out what happened. Of course there's a demon there but just how power is it?

This is super funny volume. The boys getting dressed as girls and almost all accepted as such is great. The fights step it up a notch with a excellent fight against a super demon. Also the art seems to keep improving every arc.

While not the great arc it was still really well done and I'm excited to see where it goes next. A 4 out of 5.

Still going strong 11 (big volumes, 22 regular volumes) in. The fights have never been bigger, the stakes as high as possible, and so many characters are pushing to survive. While no major character faces the end, the horrors of war are shown on full display here. A 4.5 out of 5.

This never did much for me.

It basically is a confusing mess, as confusing as Psylock's past and every other character in here doesn't make much sense. Laura's character development seems backwards and not well established compared to what she's been in the last few years. Also the art is muddy and hard to tell what is happening. The last two issues are rushed as can be and don't make much sense. Overall, the only thing I actually liked was the cover art and the idea. The rest...not so much. A 1.5 out of 5.

The two weakest titles from issue 1's I read for the new dawn title were Excalibur and Fallen Angels. Now that they are fully done with arc 1, what did I think? Well...

Excalibur tells a story of Captain Britain as she is at war. But the thing is goes from more fantasy setting to everyday setting with a cast of characters ranging from Rogue, Jubilee, Gambit, and more. It's a jumpy story and I feel if you are fans of Captain Britain or most of these characters you might get more out of the fantasy element.

However, I didn't care about Captain Britain or her war. In fact, that was what dragged the title down for me. Anything to do with that part of it was kind of boring. Saying that, I did enjoy the art, and I loved some of the character interactions. Especially Jubilee and her baby and anything with Apocalypse was pretty great. Also nice to see Rictor useful again.

Overall though, this is one of my least interesting stories from the new lineup. I like Tini Howard and her very much underrated Strike Force is a must read. This one is decent but not amazing. A 2.5 but I'll round it to a 3.

Marauders is easily the best X-Men book right now besides X-men main flagship title.

As stated in my issue reviews, this is mostly about Kitty becoming a badass leader. Forget the name kitty, she now goes by kate, and she's ready to kick some ass. With that she starts a crew of X-Men to help save and protect other mutants. With storm and iceman and a few others you have a team ready to do just that. However, behind the scenes you have Kate working with Emma on a plan while Shaw, a piece of shit, is working against Kate/Emma. Who will come out on top?

The thing that makes this title fun is Kate but also the classic X-men feel. Saving other mutants, having a grand adventure, and all the fun plotting in the background. It helps the art is solid and there's some great fight scenes, and showcase of people's powers. I also enjoyed the side cast and Storm gets to shine big time. Shaw is a piece of shit so he is entertaining but when it just focuses on him he is the least interesting part of the series.

overall, some great stuff. This is one I plan on reading single issues till they stop. A 4 out of 5.
