Lodger is another twisted crime story by the masterminds of the two Laphams!

So we have our main character, Ricky, as she hunts down the man who ruined her life. Like the description says, this serial killer is the reason for her mother's death and her dad locked up in prison. As the story progresses we get the whole story. In typical Lapham fashion, the end result is both fucked up and chilling.

I really loved a lot of this. Ricky is a interesting character in the sense her revenge is so bitter and painful you can feel it through the pages. Each decision she makes it based on pure emotion, bad and good. I also loved that the killer here is so screwed up, evil, and sick, it makes you want his death even more. The twist and turns are clever, the art is great, and the ending keeps making me question the truth. Only part I'd probably fix is maybe putting "Years" or dates of the events as the back and forth can be confusing at times.

Overall, Lodger is another sick and sad story created by one of my favorite crime writers. I'd love more stories like this. A 4 out of 5.

Sometimes I feel I'm in my own world, because both Superman and Action comics continue to be a treat for me as a Supes fan.

We drift away from the mystery red cloud villain to the uprising of Leviathan. As pointed out in the volume, this is the Talia Leviathan. This was actually the original organization made to combat other organization. However, someone who is extremely powerful is outwitting pretty much every big superhero, including the more undercover agents like Amanda Waller. Will Superman be able to stop the rise of Leviathan, or will it be too late?

More of a sneaky and fun adventure starring husband and wife, Clark and Lois try to unravel the mystery of who this Leviathan is. However, soon into the hunt we see a lot of people close to them being hunted and some even killed or taken. All of this is captivating as we root for our hero, but with all his powers, Superman seems a step behind and that keeps it exciting. The ending is a nice build up the Leviathan event and I'm intrigued who the villain really is! A 4 out of 5.

Ending as strong as it began.

Grant has done a lot wrong. His only redeemable moments are when he's working to save his family. After the events of the last volume we have everyone back together. With that they go to the final mission, the one to fix everything...but what happens? What happens if you get everything you want, but have to sacrifice who you are...

The ending is hard to process. It took me awhile to understand it. I re-read it a few times. As dark as Remender gets, this is probably one of the most fucked up endings. Just when you think people can change, and some do, most don't. The art is as good as over, some great humor to break up the bleakness as well. My main thing, it isn't the easiest to process and might take a bit to accept. Hell you might even hate it. By I really like the ending the more I think about it.

A 4 out of 5.

One sure way to ruin your comic is to put Lobo's ugly face in it. Oh, what's worse than Lobo you ask? New 52, stylish, over the top (even more than the 90's version) shitty version of Lobo.

Most of this comic at the start has NOTHING to do with Lobo (Thankfully) and is more of a showcase on how ruthless yet cunning Sinestro can be. We find out who the traitor is and Sinestro, as always, has a plan to handle it. However, Sinestro is also recruiting. What for? Well that's the plan. STOP ASKING! But before we get to something good, something epic, we have Lobo show his freaking face and ruin everything.

I hate Lobo for the most part. He's loud, annoying, gets in the way. He's like a wart you just wanna get rid of but if you pop him he comes back stronger. I just hate him and all his issues really sucked.

Thankfully besides his dumbass, most of the rest of the volume is good. The best being when Sinestro himself goes and recruits a young creature into his army. You see the process, a hint of what is to come, and a lot of cool things behind the mastermind.

Overall, anything with Sinestro was entertaining and good but Lobo...well he sucks as always. So a 3 out of 5 overall.

Going back in time I decided to check out some more of Ron Marz Green Lantern before making my new Green Lantern video. Fun times!

So we have Kyle still learning to be a hero. He's decided to be one but what better way to get used to it than going around and fighting crime with other heroes. That's basically what 80% of this book is as he teams up with Flash, Wonder Woman, Batman (kind of) and more. We also get a crazy weird story where Kyle gives a disable man legs with his power ring and then the guy loses his legs again and makes a deal with a evil guy to get his legs back and kill Kyle...

The things that work are mostly in Kyle's fun outlook on life. He says jokes, he's enjoying being a hero, and his team ups can be fun. The best being with Flash by far. I also enjoyed that we get down to earth issues like his relationship with Donna. Also, the art is fun 90's flare to it! The things that didn't work were the many crossovers, most feeling half told here in the collection. Also, it is old school, so every issue closes up a story usually. No big overarching storyline.

Overall, fun times. Nothing remarkable, but worth a read if a Kyle fan.

A odd, slow paced, yet beautifully told and drawn tale.

This is basically 3 stories in one. The first issue revolves around a vampire who's been outed. He decides to leave his homeland, or forced out by his fellow vampires, and heads to new lands. Soon he discovers he is not alone. Next issue would be about the vampire hunter and his travel to the new land as well. Last but not least we have the creature of the new lands, something different than you expect, protecting a prince and a lady.

It sounds pretty weird, huh? Well that's because it is. It's slow at times, with big history dumps at points. On top of that you might be confused on how all these characters are even linking. So the hesitation of enjoying something like this might be there.

But it's drawn so lovely, with gorgeous land shots, vicious battles, and amazing character designs. The wording can be long-winded at times yet always has a point somehow. The characters are tragic, as they should be, and the weight of their motives can be felt for sure. The last issue sums up the entire 4 before it in a interesting way as well.

While it's not my favorite book of the year it's a very interesting one, and I think any comic fan should check it out. A 4 out of 5.

This feels a lot like a setup book...but the best kind. The type that makes you excited as hell for the final volume.

So this focuses on the new mayor and Jo. jo is from the first volume and somehow, someway, she survived the events of the first volume. But not without some heavy PDST to come along with it. This of course makes her unstable at times but her focus is to prevent this from happening again. So she heads north to try just that. At the same time we have the Mayor of New York with his sneaky ass plans to controlling the entire city and police officers in that town.

I really enjoyed this fast moving chapter in the crazy Trees world. While it always feel dirty, sad, and broken the world, the art is amazing and gives life to every area. I also loved the focus on two characters, very different situations, but can tell it's all leading to something major soon. The Mayor stuff was a tad boring at first but quickly changed to something super engaging and the ending shocking. Jo's story only grows deeper into the mystery, and the hope she might able to stop the outcome of what is to come is scary and exciting. A easy 4 out of 5.

The time has come. Sinestro is the hero we all need!

A big bad comes out of the woodworks to destroy earth. The Green Lanterns are gone. Who shall protect everyone? The Yellow Lanterns come in like motherfucking Power Rangers and show people who's boss. However, even Sinestro can't handle the new threat with his army. So what happens when out numbered and can't fight back? Well you recruit even more people! Sinestro sends out more rings and now the Earth has some new Lanterns to fight for their survival!

Overall, this accumulation of build up for the Yellow Lanterns actually works out. Sure it's goofy and silly but getting to see Wonder Woman and Superman all decked out is pretty badass. I also enjoyed the fact my Girl finally takes over for her pops and becomes leader. However, the ending is SUPER Anti-climatic. I guess I'll have to read more Lantern to see where it goes.

Overall, this was a fun series. It never hit super high rating for me but never bad. Overall good stuff and worth it for Lantern fans. A 3 out of 5.

Wow I thought I finished this series but I guess I didn't. My buddy reminded me of how good it was (and I did enjoy volume 1-2 a lot) so I dove right into it on Marvel Unlimited!

The end of days are here. Secret Wars is starting and the old Loki has made his move. Capturing the Teenage Loki, and forcing him to make a choice. However, some choices aren't simple, and BAM we are thrown a brand new twist on it all. Which Loki will emerge? Why? And how will he stop the war between Asguardians and Loki once more?

Overall, good stuff. I didn't love the middle as I felt it was over the top and kind of wonky. I also think if didn't know anything about secrets wars might be even more confusing. However, the first two issues are damn amazing and the last issue is GREAT. It really focuses on change and how we can grow as people.

Overall I really enjoyed the ending so much that it went from good to great for me. While not as strong as volume 1-2 it's still pretty damn great. A 3.5-4 out of 5.

I dunno why I stopped reading this. Hopeless is a solid writer and I love Spider-woman. Any, few years late, I finally am jumping back on it.

Jess is just trying to be the best mom she can be. The first couple of issues is her balancing being a superhero and a mom. It's both funny and works well to build her character. Then we get dragged into the civil war 2 event. Now at first I wasn't feeling it but when a major moment happens in Civil War 2 and someone dies, emotions are felt throughout. The last issue is a day at the beach with Roger, Jess, and the kids.

Overall, this is pretty great. At first I didn't love the start of the civil war tie in but the emotional filled moments between Carol and Jess and another character worked really well. There's a intense battle that gave me a couple of chills. The comic also remains super fun and Jess is a fantastic main character with Roger as an amazing support cast. The kids are also adorable. Last but not least, the last issue is too cute, and I loved it.

Sad last volume is next but this was great. 4 out of 5.
