This was cheesy but it was also pretty fun. Not much to say because the content here is basically the day before Ben gets married with fun little party moments with the girls and then Ben actually getting married. Get a lot of touching moments, a cute wedding, and a ending that can't help but be heartwarming. While it was cute it was nothing "must read" but still cute. 3 out of 5.

Vinland Saga is probably the best manga being produced right now.

As always, these Hardcover volumes are actually two volumes in one for American release. So right now we're covering volume 19 and 20 from japan and it's a big turning points. With a new character introduced he decides to do the unthinkable and kill a semi-major character. In doing so we start a new war and Thorkill not has a new mission.

Thorfinn and his company are also, once again, trapped in the middle of people at war. All they want is peace but it's never as simple as that. With the group split up, will they be able to make it through or is this the end?

Lots of great moments covered here. Some laugh out loud moments, especially at the start, and even a cute little chapter based on the doggie protecting the child. But the violence doesn't take a backseat as some battles here are brutal as could be and deaths that'll make you go "oh shit." Not to mention the 2nd half is one big war and it isn't even complete. Talk about epic.

Vinland never lets up on it's relentless look into war and violence while having our hero try a new path. I love the pushback on what you'd expect but instead get something different. This remains as strong as ever with a 5 out of 5.

Ouch, the first bad volume in the Red Hood series.

While we drifted away from the Dark Trinity (A dumb idea, Lobdell had struck gold with those 3) we get focused on just Jason. This volume has him trying to become the Prince of Gotham by taking out as many crime lords as possible while he has Penguin kidnapped. We also have the annual which lets us know what happened to the second half of the trinity.

Overall, this was all over the place. The pacing was messy, the trinity stuff was...tacked on. The twist at the end was out of nowhere. The art remains decent and Jason can be a likeable character. However everything else feels forced and...boring? Yeah boring works here.

A 2 out of 5.

Black Science is nearly at the end, and Grant and his wife have to fix things before they can move forward.

That's the thing about Black Science. It has crazy worlds, awesome monsters, over the top action. It's all of that but it's not about that. It's all about family. What we would do to save them, protect them, and maybe even die for them. This volume really focuses on Grant's and his wife time together and if they can fix what went wrong. The only way to overcome the past is to move on with your future, and it's up to them to do it.

I personally really loved the first two issues. They were near flawless look into fixing relationships in life. I, as always, enjoy the art a ton. The last two issues here are good but can get convoluted with all the jumping around and fixing things. I did however love the last page and for once, it gives me hope in this bleak world. A 4 out of 5.

This was okay. I got kind of bored half way through. Ostrander can be great writer. Loved his Spectre, but this didn't do much for me. Some funny moments, cool political commentary too but the art wasn't really for me and the dialogue could go on, and on, and on...So overall just decent.

Didn't expect anything from this and came out actually having a fun time.

After many fights with the Green Lanterns, Sinestro has basically retired. Wanting to be left alone in a cave to live out his days. But when he finds the truth about his people, that not all of them are dead, he rises to the challenge to save them and take back his Yellow Corp. He'll have to not only challenge the current leader, but deal with his daughter, and another Green lantern who always shows up to see what Sinestro is up to.

Overall, pretty damn fun. It flies by as Sinestro is hellbent on saving all his people. Don't worry though, he's still a asshole, and still a piece of shit. His daughter will point that out at every chance she gets. Still, something about him saving his people and working with his daughter and his corp makes this title damn fun. On top of that the little fight with Hal and the major twist was pretty awesome. While not the best Green Lantern thing I read it was highly entertaining, Bunn nails the Sinestro voice. A 3.5-4 out of 5.

I almost gave this a 2 star but luckily the second half of this book is much better.

See, the first half is the Godhand storyline. Which may be good (haven't read it yet) but you know what's not good? Only getting 1 part of a 3 part story. It's confusing and messy and makes little sense in the way it flows. The 2nd half is back to a normal storyline and Sinestro is ready to face his rival, Mongol, while also dealing with someone on his team betraying him.

Overall, after the messy first half, this recovers nicely. While not as entertaining as volume 1 we do get some pretty great fights, Sinestro being a smart SOB, and a shocking cliffhanger which leaves us guessing who. Overall, it's still fun and I'll read the final two volumes. A 3 out of 5.

A solid start. While some thing it's an amazing start, I think it hits the right notes, but didn't super impress me. Having Deathstroke taking out so quick too was a odd choice. However, there's moments that work well, especially one sad moment of Bruce realizing Alfred isn't there anymore. Overall a solid start.

A fun little spy thriller.

Invisible Woman likes to go on missions every once in awhile. With her power set this is pretty easy and she's also badass, so that helps. However, what happens when her past comes back to haunt her? Do you ever really know someone? The twist upon twist keep this refreshing and fun, and the art is pretty cool photo-realistic style. I personally enjoy Invisible Woman's point of view on things and the pacing was nice and quick. The ending was good too. While nothing blew me away or surprised me it was an adventure worth checking out for fans of the character. A 3.5 out of .5

Dead Man Logan completes the Old Man Logan saga.

This volume and the last were the highlight of the entire series. This is Logan back in his own time period and trying to save little Hulk-Bruce. Yes the same one he rescued years ago from the crazy man-eating hulks. However, with Dani and Hulk not seeing Logan in over 7 years, a lot has changed. Who's after the Hulk now? Will Logan finally be able to get the send off he wants?

Overall, a great conclusion to a character I wasn't sold on to begin with. The desperation of a man who has very little left to protect people he loves is great. I also thought the gritty artwork and brutal fights worked in this series advantage at the end. The sendoff, which we all expected, is both bittersweet and heart warming. There was one issue, I believe 9 or 10, that slowed down the pace too much though and that's why can't give this a 5 out of 5. But a 4 out of 5 it has earned.
