Cool art and a few cool moments can't save this mostly snooze fest of a book. Too campy and cheesy. Not really worth reading TBH.

A fun star wars adventure. This one continues where the last one left off! Luke is still searching for answers, and goes to a planet where a Jedi Temple used to be. However, what is waiting for him when he gets there!? On the flipside have Leia and Han on a new mission but what happens when Solo's wife shows up. Oh you heard me right, WIFE!

Overall, this is pretty fun but not great. I enjoy a lot of the Luke stuff and I think he's actually pretty interesting in this series. I thought the ending build up nice to the new crossover coming. The Han stuff was fun but felt filler-like. Art is solid. A 3 out of 5.

At this point the Darth Vader series is stronger than the Star Wars main series, though not by much.

We have Vader going around being a asshole to everyone. That's just who he is. At the same time he sent his assistant to find his boy. All this is happening at once and makes it a clutter event of driving the empire further through the galaxy while also dealing with his son. He will even put down his own people if they try to get to his son first. It's interesting cat and mouse game to cover his own tracks.

I do like Vader a lot. He's written well here, and not so one note. He has complex feelings about his son, even to the point of keeping his identity mostly a secret from everyone. The art is also pretty good and Aphra is always pretty entertaining. The plot itself is okay with a lot of political talk of where to take over next for the empire. Not as interesting.

Overall, it's solid, and interesting, but I want to love the main story more. For what it is though, still a 3.5 out of 5.

This is the first crossover with Vader series and Star Wars main series.

Vader is pretty much god-like bullshit level here. He takes on like 50 goddamn ships, none can take him down, but then Luke charges in, and together they fall to the planet surface. Then Vader is surrounded by 100+ men and of course Vader takes them all on. While this is happening we have multiple plot points of Han Solo and everyone else on the run or trying to rescue someone. This is basically one big rescue mission.

Overall, this is highly entertaining because it's a super quick read and fun. I love the stuff with bullshit power level Vader because it's so over the top you have to. I also like that Luke ain't a punk in this. You get some pretty damn good fights too here. The art is solid on top of it all. Vader being OP as fuck though is kind of annoying at times and also the ending is kind of like...ok?

Overall pretty fun if not silly. A 3.5 out of 5, but I'll bump it to a 4.

There's basically a bunch of one shots all put into one. They loosely connect here but can read each one by themselves.

The re-launch of X-men is huge, because it has kind of been meh for years now. Hickman did amazing things with event of X-Men but now he's recruited his real life team of X-Men to create the universe once more. This time we have multiple series like X-Force, New Mutants, Fallen Angels, and more going along side X-Men the main series. The results? A mixed bag of course.

Some of the stronger titles stand out like the main line X-Men here, which is more down to earth than maybe expected, but great characterization of a lot of characters. Then you have the more outlandish fun adventures of things like Marauders and New Mutants. The darker and grimier Fallen angels or X-Force. And then got Excalibur, which is a mindtrip. Some are stronger than others (X-Men/X-Force/Marauders) and some are good but not great (Fallen Angel/New Mutants) and some I have pretty much no interest in (Excalibur) but what's important here is they all come together to give different flavors. I'd find it odd if you don't get attached to least a couple of these. A 4 out of 5 for pushing the X-men brand in a new and much better direction.

Mark Russell does it again, like the Flintstones, talking about social issues while making a extremely entertaining adventure.

Who are the Wonder Twins? Well shit if I know. I think I've seen a old cartoon with them or heard them in passing when I was a kid. I dunno. It doesn't really matter. Basically they come to earth after being exiled from their own planet and have to get use to earth. This opens up issues about prison, politicians, dating, friendzone, and more. All while also being a fun little DC adventure about brother and sister taking down the Syndicate of Annoyance! (Real name).

Overall, super entertaining. It doesn't talk down to you but with you on subjects you all heard of. I especially enjoyed the issue on Prison and of course the one on dating and how everyone takes it different ways. Those were easily the two best issues. The art is super fun and adds a lot of humor and even buckles down on the darker moments well. While some of the subject matter can be on the nose, most of it works. This is super entertaining and well worth the read! A 4 out of 5.

Probably the weakest of the new X-Men titles, but still enjoyable. I didn't care for a lot of the characters here but the dialogue was pretty solid and good art. I hope the plot changes my mind down the line. Can check out my Dawn of X review to see what I thought of all the titles. Whoa! This was EXCELLENT. This might be my favorite thing Chip's wrote, and I enjoyed a lot of his stuff.

So Namor has had enough. He's going through a phase (emo eyeliner and Gothic feel) and he's ready to set his plans in motion. Cap and Sam, the original Human Torch, are working to stop him alongside them is Bucky Barnes. These are the original Invaders. Not sure who that is? Don't worry, this book will fill you in but won't bombard you with so much Exposition you'll hate yourself. On top of that Namor moves to conquer, but in a different way than you might expect, and the end results give us a truly thrilling adventure.

Chip has really outdone himself here. Creating each character in an amazing way, interactions I always wanted to see, and a truly "holy shit" twist I didn't see coming. On top of that there's a ton of history here with the Invaders but the book smartly fills out in so you understand 99% of it without reading anything prior. On top of that the art is great with some thrilling action scenes and somber moments to match the grim tone at times.

Overall, this is a fantastic mini-series that might only be 12 issues in the end but the first half so far is truly amazing. A 5 out of 5.

Darn, almost was going with a 4 star. I really enjoy the first half. Nice twist and turns. 2nd half? Not so much.

Doctor Strange returns to earth but upon getting back to his home another doctor strange attacks him. This leaves them fighting each other but soon is revealed who is the real strange. This leads the doctor on a personal journey of failure and how to fix things broken. Then have the 2nd story of Strange dealing with the ancient one and then his greatest foe, which sounds cool, but ends in an unsatisfying way.

If I'd rate each part the first would be a 4 out of 5 where's 2nd part is a 2.5 out of 5. The art stays good throughout, the fights are fun, and way less internal dialogue so it works a lot better in this book for pacing. I also enjoyed Strange's characterization a lot. But the villain in the 2nd half was really blah and the ending didn't get me excited.

Still a solid, good, if not fun book. Wish I could give it a 4 but gonna settle with a 3.5 out of 5.

Why was this even made?

I like most of Brian Wood's stuff (Despite not buying anymore since we found out he was hitting on woman, using his power in the comic world to get advances on woman, all while having a pregnant wife. Yikes...no supporting that.) Anyway, this is pretty bad. It's just a rehash of EVERY terminator comic/movie/game you ever read/played. It's a woman, Castro, who's on the run from a terminator. Worst of all is there is no BLOOD. No heavy violence. Listen, I'm not a gore freak, but the reason Terminator 1-2 were so good is they have a horror feel. This has...a chase feel but not very interesting.

Overall, extremely passable. Some cool action moments but the dialogue, story, and art all lack something major. A 2 out of 5.
