Batman and the Outsiders return, but this time Black Lightning is taking control.

With a new team of outsiders, Batman trust Black Lightning to do his best. This time though, Black Lightning isn't working for Batman, but with Batman. He builds a team with various members including our boy Duke and Cass (She the besssssst) and together they must save a girl from being taken and used as a weapon. Will this Outsider group stay together or are they destined to fall apart like all the other versions?

This was actually pretty entertaining. The art is good enough where the fights look slick and fun. I really enjoyed the interactions with all the outsiders. Cass and Duke are a highlight and done well, plus this is basically a sequel to Hill's arc in Detective comics so works well. I also really enjoyed the ending as it's a solid cliffhanger. Didn't love the first issue as it felt too similar to how all these team books start but without anything new and Batman is hardly here, and I think they use his name to sell.

Overall though, this is a fun team book that's easy to read and looks good. I'm hoping it continues for a few arcs. A 3 out of 5.

Demon Slayer remains one of the best Mangas currently out for me.

This is a train attack! Actually it starts off really cute where our hero, Tanjiro, says goodbye to all the people who nursed him back to health. It's cute and great character development. Also the next arc we get to see a veteran demon slayer in action but even more so what everyone in the group dreams about. That's right, welcome to a special episode of Demon Slayer: Inception!

The character growth in this series remains amazing. The art is great with easy enough fights to follow. I enjoyed watching what each character dreams but also how they handle a demon invading their life. I also enjoyed watching everyone work as a team, was badass.

Overall, Demon Slayer is just a pure pleasure to read. I hope it continues to be this great. A 4.5 out of 5.

I'm a pretty big fan of Bendis. He is a huge reason I'm into comics (Ultimate Spider-man was my first major Marvel comic growing up) and so I will always give his work a chance. For the most part, all his Jinx stuff and DC stuff has been pretty entertaining, and I think Naomi follows in those footsteps even though it feels like it covers familiar ground.

We start with a everyday situation in DC. Superman comes crashing into town and Naomi, our main character, misses it. She seems to always miss the badass fights. But then she feels something is off and begins investigating the town and her past. What feels like a Nancy drew comic soon becomes a sci-fi adventure with tons of colorful fights and a ton of new lore for the DC Universe.

I personally enjoyed parts of this a lot, while others I was bored. I Like the cast, especially Naomi, her parents, and Dee. The girlfriend was okay but the rest worked well. I also enjoy the art a lot, it's really pretty and the fights are epic and fun. The pacing is solid up until issue 5-6 where they become HUGE exposition dumps. And while the lore could be interesting there's parts I was very bored learning about who Naomi is and the one dimensional villain.

Overall, the idea of this being season 1, makes me feel this might work out in the long run. Like most season 1 TV shows, it builds up a new universe I like and I'm involved with but didn't blow me away. It's good, especially for giving us a new hero, but I hope season 2 drops the heavy exposition for more natural storytelling while keeping this amazing art. A 3.5 out of 5.

This might be one of the most frustrating series I'm reading because HALF is really damn good, while the other is I could give two fucks about.

I will give Adam so big bonuses on one thing. He is trying to make every single character flushed out. Really give them backgrounds, motives, and plotlines that actually MATTER. I really enjoy a lot of the set up with Damien here. It feels like a odd turn but you have to remember this is Damien after almost finding out Deathstroke is his father. His methods are harder, and more fucked up, but makes sense. I also enjoy the storyline with jason todd and even enjoy the Wally stuff with Wu A LOT.

The stuff that didn't work for me was Lobo's daughters rage boner for him. She wants him dead. I get it. I just don't find it that interesting (though her design is cool) I also think they are downplaying Red Arrow's usefulness in a big way here.

Overall, Teen Titans remains a mixed bag. Luckily some of it is really good and I'll read on. I just want it to be the great series it CAN be. A 3 out of 5.

Meh, besides some fun interactions with the ladies this is a snooze story. Even the joker comes off kind of lame. A 2 out of 5.

You know that big thing some people complain about comic characters, that they never really age, and nothing really evolves much cause of timeline restraints. Well Chip is given the opportunity to start Peter's life in the 60's and through the decades age him and have the world around him change. In other words, we grow with Peter through his teen years to an old man.

The events that occur through this series might seem familiar. They tackle the green goblin rise, Harry's fall, Gwen's death, Clone Saga, and so much more. In the end it's all done with a interesting twist, one that will actually alter Peter's life, and it's done nearly perfect for every storyline. On top of the storytelling of subject matter we know (and sometimes done better here than the originals) we have great art with fantastic feel of old school to modern day.

The only thing that didn't really work for me was the overall civil war storyline that is present since issue 1. It makes sense, it's not bad, it just was the least interesting part for me. Could also be because I don't like Civil War event much. This has much more weight behind it though as Peter is a BIG character in it.

Overall, if you like Spider-man, you'll most likely either like or love this story. This is hands down going to be a classic for a ton of people (look at the reviews on here alone) and while I wouldn't say it's perfect because of the civil war plotline it remains one of the best Spider-man stories of our time. A 4.5 out of 5.

Another entertaining volume of Dixon's long Nightwing run.

This time we have Dick trying to figure out how to balance his life. He wants to help people but he's also trying to date the girl of his dreams on top of now joining the police academy. There's a lot of interesting ideas with the personal life here that they begin to explore. On the crime fighting side we have Blockbuster planning as he always does, a return of a old villain that might turn some heads (you'll get it if you read it), and Huntress grand return.

There's a lot to like here. Dixon has Dick's voice down perfect. A good plan of a good guy doing all he can to help others. I also really enjoyed the relationships with people like Huntress, Barbara, his new girlfriend, and even the villains like Blockbuster. The art is stylish and fun most of the time. However, sometimes, it is really hard to tell what is happening due to the art being so over the top. Also, the pacing is weird as Nightwing keeps getting dragged to different events.

Overall though, this was a fun run of the mill Nightwing adventure. Nothing great but strong character showcase helps it big time. A 4 out of 5.

This volume stayed interesting throughout. I still think the cursing feela forced, some designs little too wannabe Japanese, and the story seemed to be going nowhere at times. The ending fight was entertaining however and the dialog besdies forced cursing ia fun. Good just not great.

This series continues to be entertaining even while being heavily flawed. Somehow I get wrapped up in each volume, moments really get me suckered in, but on the flipside there's a lot of "just okay" moments. So anyway let's get in to this!

What I liked: This volume is basically all fights. Cat girl and new fox girl are now teaming up to take down baddies. Why? Who cares. Blood, action, cursing! GO GO GO! Entertaining, lots of cursing because fuck it, and vivid colors. It works because it's so over the top I can't help but enjoy it somewhat. Also the pacing is such a breeze feels like big shit just keeps happening so it's never boring...however....

What I didn't like: Since shit just keeps happening you don't care about anyone. Rori, the kid with magic computer hacking powers, even cat girl. They're all...kind of one note characters. Just curse, attack, slash, kill. No one ever comes close to dying that is important. The plot is just "Oh no he's or she's bad, oh wait we'll kill them, they do, oh no bigger problems.

Listen, if I was 14-17 and Anime was my life this series would probably be a 10 out of 10. As it stands, it just feels like pure action non-stop cursing fun. It's okay but I hardly ever feel the need to care about any of the characters sadly. I'll still read it past this cause stays entertaining but that's about it. 2.5-3/5.

Almost at the end now and shit is going down.

Gigantic woman running around the streets like Godzilla? Check. Rori going to war on behalf of her father? Check. Everyone getting killed and sent to die? Check. Betrayals around every turn? Yep Yep Yep. This is the climax people. While Rori tries her best to help her father and his tribe of demons, we have all our other heroes stuck in Japan dealing with a giant girl roaming the streets destroying everything!

Overall, a solid volume again if not great. I mean it's fun, the pacing is still good, and the fights are both beautiful and brutal. However, I just can't seem to care about any of the characters much. Even after a betrayal, I just felt kind of Eh about the death. Overall, it's a fairly good series I just wish it was a tad bit better. A 3 out of 5.
