Holy shit this manga just turned amazing.

Tanjiro is still on his mission but now he is joined with Zenitsu and Inosuke. Both of these character's can't be more opposite. IN saying that it makes their interactions great. When a corps member is drawn back into the forest in front of everyone, Inosuke and Tanjiro run in to save him. In doing so they meet creepy crawlers who begin to attack them. Inosuke deals with a Spider-like creature which is both badass and extremely funny.

The comedy jumps up a few notches here with multiple scenes that made me laugh really hard. The art and fights also get better as I was able to follow it all this time. The dialogue stays strong, and Tanjiro is a great main hero. Overall awesome volume and a easy 4.5-5 out of 5.

This series continues to be a delight.

With all our main heroes facing off against the spider family we have some tough situations they must escape. This one is the highlight of Tanjiro verses a crazy woman spider who hates her sister, and Inosuke facing off against his toughest oppent yet. When all looks lost we have two new arrivals, mysterious corps members, who decide to deliver the justice these demons deserve.

This is basically one big action set piece. There's couple of funny moments but for the most part this is one big ass battle. It's also really fucked up, some deaths make me wonder if this is really just rated teen instead of mature. Also, the new characters kick a lot of ass. The ending leaves off on a "oh shit" cliffhanger that makes you want to read the next.

This series really maintains high quality by giving us a great cast and badass fights. While not as funny as the last volume it's still super enjoyable. A 4 out of 5.

The end of Postal (for now) and of course it ends as fucked up as it started.

The final chapter of the main series starts this collection off and by the end you might question what Mark is doing. The final two issues are basically to wrap up both Laura and Mark. Mark's chapter comes first and is a fitting end to the major story arc that has consumed him in the series. Laura's ending is more of a "what happens after it all" but somehow works even better.

There's a lot of fucked up shit in this town and the series never shy's away from that. Yet, the ending as depressing as it might be, also gives some hope. A glimmer despite all the horrible shit that has happened. Only negative is how short this volume is and feels semi-rushed. Overall though, a solid ending to a mostly great series. A 3.5 out of 5.

Not as good as volume 1 sadly.

So Gabby and Laura continue their adventure but this time we meet yet ANOTHER clone of Laura. This one does not have a healing factor and could die. She's also partly robotic. So Gabby of course decides to befriend her to try and make her join their gang. This story also goes into the final two part story which involves Gabby trying to find her way in life.

Overall, it's good. It's colorful, the fights are fun, and the Laura/Gabby relationship remains to be the highlight of the series. It moves at a quick pace too which also helps a lot. The problem? It's nothing special. Nothing we haven't read before. Sad to see this go as I LOVE Laura. She is by far my favorite Mutant. But this series didn't really spark the interest that "All New Wolverine" seemed to do. A 3 out of 5.

I just watched Made In Abyss and really enjoyed it. The Promised Neverland gives the same vibe. Kids in a anime being in danger is nothing new, but the sharp turn from happy and go lucky to darkness is jarring but both Made in Abyss and Promised Neverland feel earned.

So a bunch of kids at a orphanage are trying to enjoy their young childhood lives. One day Conny, one of the kids gets chosen to be adopted. YAY! Except when two of her fellow friends follow her out to say goodbye and find that kids being adopted...aren't. But think of this as a very terrible faith that is darker than you'd expect from taking a glance at the cover.

It's enjoyable to see change in a series like this as it keeps its hopeful feel up even as the situations get more dire. I also love that it's basically a thriller. With super smart kids trying to find a way out of a dangerous situation. In doing so the series never talks down to you but lets you come along on this escape adventure filled with deadly results if anyone fails. The slower pace at points might make you deter from enjoying this series but I say stick with it, I know I will.

This thriller might just be the next Death Note. A easy 4 out of 5.

Whoa, Manhunter is way better than I expected.

So it's all about a prosecutorwho has just had enough with criminals getting away with shit. Think Daredevil but she's a lot meaner, and also kills mofos who deserve it. With that she hunters her first victim and deals with him and the next couple of issues are her dealing with trying to be a superhero while taking care of her kid, and showing what type of "hero" she really is.

I like complex heroes. Ones that don't follow the rule. The thing with this volume is you get so many sides to Manhunter that you're not sure if she's good or bad. That to me, makes a compelling main character. Mix that with some good fight scenes and solid art and you have a great start to what could be a great series. A 4 out of 5.

Man all this good stuff I'm reading lately is such a nice change of pace. Demon Slayer only continues to build its world in interesting ways with great character development and humor.

So we have Tanjiro going in front of all the corp to see if they will allow him to live and especially his demon sister. It's great to see the top tier character's all in one place, all different, and each one having a different view. It's also scary to see that little sister might get the axe! Then after that we get into the arc of training and we return to more humorous arc with some great learning moments about the powers in this universe.

The world builds as does the characters in great and satisfying ways. I also really dig all the humor still as it stays funny and the faces are great. The art is getting better and better too, especially with the fights. All the new character introduced are done so easily and nicely done. I hope this series just stays this good. A 4 out of 5.

Vinland continues to be an amazing adventure.

With the cliffhanger of the last volume the first part of this story deals with Hild and Thorfinn. Will she kill him? Will she forgive him? What happened back then? You get the whole story and it's not very...happy. Then we deal with the group getting chased down by a old foe (or maybe friend?) and some fighting happens that might just change everyone's life!

The story moves at a nice pace still with plenty of great character development moments. I'm so excited to see where this goes next and the art just keeps getting better and better. A 4 out of 5.

Was not expecting to enjoy this as much as I did.

This is actually mostly broken up into two sections. The first is about some type of creature falling from the sky, becoming a rock, then transforming into a wolf who had died, and then the wolf goes home to meet a boy who's one goal is to make it to a society since he's stranded in the cold with no one around. So their mission is to go out and try to make it. The 2nd half is about a little girl wanting to grow up but she instead is being sacrificed to a ancient bear in which will protect the village from more attacks.

These two stories connect in a surprising way that I won't spoil here. I also really loved the first half, as the ending hit me like a fucking train with emotions. The 2nd half is quite good too, with a lot of heart, and a bit of sadness. I really enjoyed the art too and some interesting designs for characters. The only negative is there is a shift here, and it takes time to get used to.

I really enjoyed this and right away ordered volume 2-5 online because I want more. I hope this story remains as good. A 4 out of 5.

This continues to be a strange journey that I can't get enough of.

So last we had our creature who became both man and wolf talk. So now him, March, and Parona all go together to a city like nothing they've seen before. It's filled with life, people, and so many things that March can't get enough. The story begins to lean into a fish out of water situation when something horrible happens and takes the group to a new place. Remember that big bear? Well he's also back in a big way!

This series continues to make you feel the emotion of characters that you may only get 80-100 pages of. It's so captivating to feel for characters like that and the way the storytelling does it so flawlessly honestly makes me jealous. The art is great with some action scenes that are high up there on "holy shit" level. The ending is the only strange part, as it feels out of place? Or out of nohwere maybe, but the series is still extremely captivating. A 4 out of 5.
