This very much feels like it could have been apart of the Yost era, around X-Force and Messiah Complex times.
Rosenberg brings back the X-Men you probably know and care about. Cyclops and Wolverine team up in the first issue, which I reviewed by itself, and it's pretty awesome come back. We also go deeper into Cyclops wanting to rescue a bunch of X-men. This means the New Mutants stroyline that Rosenberg did a bit ago comes into play here. Will Cyclops be able to bring back the X-Men or will they be hunted down again?
I really enjoyed Cyclops here. A man broken and trying to find his way again. His past actions ruined him in ways and now he's trying to find a solution. This is fast paced, and with that some great action scenes mixed with hard hitting deaths and moments. However, being that this series comes to a close next volume, I feel bad for Rosenberg as his pacing seem a bit too quick at points. I could tell he was rushed some as they were bringing in Hickman to basically reboot the X-Men soon. So with that everything moves too fast and loses the focus at times.
Overall, it is good. I liked a lot of the interactions, fights, and art. But it feels messy a points without much moment to let things breath to feel the terrible things that happen to the X-Men. A 3.5 out of 5.

Another really solid adventure into this kind of disturbing demonic world.
Tanjiro defeats the evil creatures from the previous volume but as he embarks on a new quest he meets another demon slayer. This one is scared of his own shadow but he follows Tanjiro anyway because a sister and brother are scared to enter a home that stole his brother. So Tanjiro enters but will he come out? Or will a new demon and a psycho demon slayer prevent him from saving those who need saving.
One thing I love about this series is Tanjiro is a joy as a protagonist. He's always hopeful but also a badass when need be. I really enjoy the fact it stays light hearted at moments but also has some gory scenes that might make your stomach turn. The fights are great and easy to follow as well. The new guy is funny at times but also being scared of everything can be annoying.
Overall, solid stuff. I'm digging this series. Feels like a 90's manga but with a modern twist. A 4 out of 5.

Not feeling this series that much. All over the place and not all that interesting. I don't really care too much about Loki here, and I also don't care that much about Young Thor or his adventures with his mother. Kind of boring. Owell...on to realms!
This is easily the best volume since Injustice Year 2. Tom Taylor kills it (no pun intended) with a lot of great character moments and deaths.
Ra's plan comes into action when he unleashes Amazo on the world. This time not only do Batman and Co stand up to him but also Wonder Woman and the rest of the heroes who joined Superman when he became a dictator. But before all that we have Batman and Co going to try and free the Teen Titans who sadly been trapped in the Phantom Zone thanks to Supes. Between that and the change against Ra from the rest of the heroes, a lot of cool character moments begin.
I really loved this volume. Right out the gate we're in for a rush of events. It does feel like it moves too fast at points but that's because the stakes are super high. The fights are brutal, the dialogue is amazing, and the art is really solid. This is one of the best volume in the whole series of Injustice 1 and 2, and the best in Injustice 2. A 5 out of 5.

Whoa this was a HUGE disappointment.
Duggan did a real fun run of Guardians before this. I really enjoyed it a lot and even liked the prequel to Infinity wars here. The cast of the guardians grew as a family and the situation got worse and worse. However, this? This is pretty bad.
Basically, and this isn't spoilers as it happens right away, Gamore chops off Thanos head. Now the hunt for Gamore begins. Sounds like it could be good, right? It's not. None of the guardians really do anything, a lot of it has Gamore talking about power and being in control, seeing Thanos in her head, but she doesn't really do anything except use the gems which mostly their stories take place in side stories not a part of this collection.
The main issue is not much happens. It's boring, none of the plot points are interesting, and it's slow to get through. The exact opposite of Duggan's guardian's run. What a waste. Even the art wasn't very good, and too many panels broken up by annoying lines through them. A 1.5 out of 5.

After the miserable Infinity Wars event, this was a much needed comeback for the Guardians.
Gamore is on the run. Thanos is dead. The guardians are broken up and all that is left is Quill and Groot. The Black Order return to take their father/master body back but not without the Guardians trying to stop them! Actually, almost the entire book is the Guardians all fucked up and no one working together, people who were friends hunting each other, all while Thanos true plan goes into effect.
I really dug a lot of the interactions. Beta Ray being a friend of both Quill and Groot makes some great moments. Cosmic Ghost rider is there for the laughs. The fights are huge and epic. This feels like classic guardians vibe with a lot of great moments and quick plotting. Sure, some characters are there to set up other stories, but overall pretty fun.
I hope guardians continues down this fun path and never back to that terrible Infinity event style storytelling. A 4 out of 5.

This was better but still really goofy. Basically Babs tells Cass she has to relax and we have to go out and party on a boat. Cass has to wear a bathing suit, and the issue largely focuses on that? I mean don't get me wrong, Cass is a cutie, but this was a really weird issue. Still fun to see Babs and Cass go out like sisters though.
I can see why this might not have been collected in trades. Dylan Horrocks doesn't do a great job giving us more than a couple of interactions and big sprawling fight scenes. We do get a cute moment with Superboy and Cass though. Also least this volume was a better view of a fight though did we really have to see Cass's green underwear as she does a fight move? No. Anyway, this was as good as the last volume, which is just okayish.
I was hoping to enjoy this more as it takes place after the original Old Man Logan story so they would be able to do more but...was just decent.
So Quill lost his family during an attack. This is a pretty common cliche but can be handled well. It's not handled bad here but it's just there. After that he waits years to kind of live out his boring depressing life. Then the Guardians come to him and they head to earth. There they get to face the villains like never before and brutal encounters begin.
Overall, it's okay. I like seeing the Guardians face hell together. Rocket is still funny as hell at times. I also think the art is solid enough. But the story never really goes anywhere interesting. The fights are brutal but everyone who dies is like D list or E List villains. The ending builds up some steam but not enough.
A average story in a unique universe. A 3 out of 5.

I'm finally getting back to this series to finish it (though I did hear they are recently continuing it.)
So Mark is trying to decide if he wants to stay in town and protect it with his mother or go on the run with his lover. At the same time his father is coming and he has a secret weapon, a FBI agent who has gone rogue. Soon they will arrive and Mark's mother decides to make a finally stand. This is when everything will come to a head.
This is pretty solid. A nice twist at the end which might piss some people off. I also enjoy Mark's motivation to move on. The series shows a dark turn at the end. I did think it moved a bit too fast at points though. Still a 4 out of 5.
