After the miserable Infinity Wars event, this was a much needed comeback for the Guardians.

Gamore is on the run. Thanos is dead. The guardians are broken up and all that is left is Quill and Groot. The Black Order return to take their father/master body back but not without the Guardians trying to stop them! Actually, almost the entire book is the Guardians all fucked up and no one working together, people who were friends hunting each other, all while Thanos true plan goes into effect.

I really dug a lot of the interactions. Beta Ray being a friend of both Quill and Groot makes some great moments. Cosmic Ghost rider is there for the laughs. The fights are huge and epic. This feels like classic guardians vibe with a lot of great moments and quick plotting. Sure, some characters are there to set up other stories, but overall pretty fun.

I hope guardians continues down this fun path and never back to that terrible Infinity event style storytelling. A 4 out of 5.
