Another knock out volume from one of the best series around.

This continues where the last one left off. Ketil returns home only to find out his mistress tried to leave him. Or his slave more like it. The ugly owner turns even worse. On top of that King Canute is on his way to take that very farm land away from him so his son rallies up to fight with the rest of the townfolk. Thorfinn is on a new mission in life and when him and Eisner see a chance to escape this life they might do it, but when Thorfinn hears of King Canute coming he decides to confront him.

Good: The art is once again gorgeous. I can't get over some of these amazing fight scenes in here. Also, Canute turn to the darker side is interesting because he's not a completely evil man. His scheming is downright terrifying but his heart is still somewhat in the right place. The Confrontation goes a WAY different way than you'd expect, which is wonderful. A reunion so sweet, I couldn't help but smile every page is also great.

Bad: Nothing really...

This series continues to be masterful, or least this arc, and worth every minute reading it. A 5 out of 5.

This is one of the weirdest mainstream titles I've read, especially Thor, but hell...I kind of liked it?

So Loki is doing what he does best, messing everything up but for "good" reasons. So he decides to take Thor down to hell. Thori, the Thor God Dog, comes as well. We find out there's going to be a wedding with Hela and Tyr. A family reunion begins but it sure as hell isn't going to end the way it began...actually it might. This whole thing is just insane.

Good: I liked the style, it's very over the top and pretty fun. Thor and Loki have a lot of good banter between each other, and Thori is fucking amazing. The plotting, or pacing I should say, is solid and it's never really boring.

Bad: I'm not a huge fan of the fight scenes all the time. Sometimes it's really hard to follow as well as the plot going ALL over the place. Also, this is wacky. After two runs of Thor and Jane Thor being Epic blockbuster type stories, this goes for over the top, goofy, and weird.

Overall it's fun and interesting even if it can be a little too wacky to take serious. I'll hit this one with a 3 out of 5.

X-Factor keeps going along, and it keeps the quality it almost always had.

So this one focuses a lot on Shatterstar and Renee. The second we go into a church and this little renee girl wannabe starts killing people, you know things are going to get crazy. Not to mention some new love interest for Gudo? Oh snap! Oh and we can't forget about Renee's baby. That little wolf pup has to come out some time, but we know it's not going to be a normal pregnancy. Is it ever? Let's go!

Good: The art is pretty solid most of the volume. The end result with Renee's baby is...different. A little weird, and dunno if it comes back later, but a interesting set up. The new love interest is out of left field but I'm intrigued. I also really loled at a lot of Jamie's one liners this volume.

Bad: It fills a bit filler. Renee baby being born is big but it felt a bit stretched out.

Overall, another great volume. While not mind-blowing, it has the drama, tense emotional moments, and the lolz. All worth it. A 4 out of 5.

This was messy collection.

This is mostly ruined by the He'el or whatever storyline. You know the big New 52 storyline that had Supergirl, Superman, and Superboy all come into play. Sounds like it could be a fun idea, but just one problem. Each collection has each other's comic issues. So just re-reading the same story of the lost family member coming down, tricking supergirl into falling in love with him, and fighting each other. Anyway, the other two issues are basically about Supergirl's Sanctuary, which is her version of fortress of solitude. Oh yeah, and Power Girl comes into this universe.

Good: The Power Girl banter with Supergirl is actually a lot of fun. I also thought the idea of Sanctuary is really interesting. A more talkative version of Superman's hideout. Oh and the art remains pretty solid throughout.

Bad: Well the crossover event takes up 65% of this volume and guess what? That storyline is just okay at best. Worst part about it is the fact they make supergirl evil or bad, or follow this guy, mostly because she "loves him" I think is so fucking stupid.

So yeah, a okay collection at best. A 2.5 out of 5.

This is a awesome fucking issue.

So for 8 issues everything is building up. Last issue ended with a BOOM and a ton of people paid the price for it. Similar to what happened to Dr. Manhattan now happens to Superman. The news reports are coming in saying Superman didn't stop Firestorm from hurting everyone but Batman knows better. Batman knows the truth.

The justice league, justice league dark, titans, green lanterns, and just about any other hero you can think of decide to head into space to face off against Dr. Manhattan. The meeting goes okay at first, with them trying to be peaceful about it. However, when they get a reading of why Dr. Manhattan is doing what he's doing they all attack. With some successful attacks they think they can take Dr. Manhattan on but we know better, don't we?

Good: The art remains fantastic. Deep emotional moments are on display here, but the fights...oh man so good. Also, the story moves so quick in this volume despite Dr. Manhattan being a wordy motherfucker at times. Every time he says something or makes a point you feel on edge. Watching the heroes fight a force that's nearly impossible to stop is both scary and super entertaining.

Bad: Nothing.

This is a excellent issue. This series keeps ramping up every issue. I can't wait to see how it ends. A 5 out of 5.

Uncanny X-Men has been pretty solid with Kieron Gillen as lead on it. I wonder why it's such a short run.

So in this volume we have Cyclops leading his team it to a new area. Each breaks up to do their own mission but soon we learn of a new race of aliens. Namore and Hope begin to build a relationship of teammates. Magneto learns some new information he might decide to use later. Oh and Cap and Cyclops aren't always seeing eye to eye on things.

Good: Loved the hell out of the hope and Namore stuff. Funny, cute, and pretty well done. I also enjoyed Cyclops here, taking charge like he should. The art is solid and the fights can be really epic in this one.

Bad: Some exposition dumps are pointless. We get they're aliens we don't need to be told every little detail. Also, it feels a bit rushed.

Overall, pretty solid stuff. On to the next. 3 out of 5.

This was a good opening but I guess I was expecting more.

So we start off with a guy running away from monsters, shooting people, and then everyone teleports back to the real world. We learn that there's another dimension, world, and it took a good amount of our people in a certain event. In this universe the people are hunting by monsters since we are on this world. So it's up to our main hero, Nathan Cole, to go into this universe to save people. His mission? To find his brother Ed...but to what end?

Good: The story is interesting enough. Other dimension stories can fail but here it works well enough. I also think Nathan is a pretty interesting character, dealing with his own set of PTSD as well as most other characters dealing with it. The monsters and designs are pretty unique too.

Bad: Some of the art can be pretty ugly though. Especially when there isn't a lot of movement. The pacing is a bit odd and the story feels like it comes to a full stop at moments.

Overall, it's a good start. Interesting enough to see where the next one goes. A 3-3.5 out of 5.

This seems to be a title that is either LOVED or HATED. I was kind of eager to see where I would fit in. I liked Mockingbird a lot from Chelsea Cain, so I was pretty excited to try this.

It starts off with learning that girls, once they get their period, can transform into huge cats that tear you apart. The series isn't taking itself too serious, but at the same time, is tackling big subject matters. See, the government decides to put in these chemicals into girls drinks to prevent them from getting their period so that they transform into these huge cats. A lot of the first volume focuses on setting up the world and the rules of it. However, we do get somewhat of a main protagonist in Maude who is getting her first period. When she gets it she keeps it hidden from her father, who is a detective trying to uncover the latest killing of a Man-eater.

Good: I enjoyed the style it was going for. Very colorful and fun, except it can turn horror quick, and when doing so it makes the contrast work in its favor. I also enjoyed Maude as the main cast, and even wanted more of her, since she was a tough teen with a badass to her. Also, the rules and search are interesting, and this universe is weird but I strangely wanted more.

Bad: The last issue is just filled with a shit ton of advertisements. Sure, some are pretty funny and we get the idea behind it. It's showing how these women are controlled and such. However, it felt like a huge filler issue to end the very short graphic novel on (only 4 issues). Also, some of the dialogue could be TOO on the nose, defeating the purpose of its message.

Overall...I'm in the middle. I like the idea, themes, and character. But it's filler issue and trying too hard at points hurts it for me. Still, if there's another volume, I'll check it out! A 3 out of 5.

This was SO fucking funny.

So take Hawkeye, who we all love after Factions run. Take Winter Solider, a badass warrior and right hand man to Steve. Put them together since SOMEONE is setting breadcrumbs up to lead to them. After the events of Secret Empire they believe Black Widow is still alive even after she died. This gives reason for the two ex-lovers of Natasha to go on a hunt to find out if she's really alive. This begins a quest of hilarious moments the next five issues.

Good: Almost everything. Loved the humor, it was so perfect. I'd watch a buddy show on Disney + if they had characters like this. They were cracking me up non-stop. The fights were great the art when in motion is really badass. I also thought the Natasha side of things was both really well told and kind of sad.

Bad: The art sometimes when faces come into play looks awful.

Overall, fantastic. This is one of the best mini-series ever. I want more. WHY IS THERE NOT MORE!? A 4.5 out of 5.

This one just wasn't as good as the last volume.

Someone steals Conner body and both Black Canary and Green Arrow head out to try and find out who would do such a terrible thing. As we get deeper into the investigation the more mystery builds up till finally the true evil appears or atleast is reveal. This is a big set up, part 1, to a bigger fallout story that'll probably play out in the next volume.

Good: The cartoony art still works well and I really enjoyed the fights and bickering between Oliver and Diana. I also enjoyed the cameos in here, they were both fun and a interesting way to spice things up.

Bad: Nothing major really happens. It feels a bit slow at points and not sure what the end result is going to be.

Overall, a decent chapter. A 3 out of 5.
