While not as strong as volume 1-2 it's still pretty solid.

This is Supergirl going undercover for Black Adam and Damien (now nightwing) to free Wonder Woman. This part of the story is a rush, since we get to see Supergirl show her stuff and face off against amazons while also seeing what Wonder Woman has been up to. The next part of it is Wonder Woman's origin in this Injustice world. It's a lot...well darker than you'd probably expect. The ending is sad but it makes sense why Diana is a lot harsher in this world.

Good: The twist on Wonder Woman's origins may be slightly edgy but it worked well for me. Especially in the Injustice universe. The art remains a highlight, being different enough, but keeping it well lit while having great fights. Supergirl in action was badass, and her and Damien's relationship is nice. The amazo storyline is shaping up to be brutal as hell.

Bad: A little light on pushing the main story over. I didn't really like the special at the end, pretty bad. Sometimes need a little hope and this volume offered almost none.

Overall, some great moments but nothing over the top special like volume 1-2. I'm hoping 4+ onward really ramps up. I believe Taylor got this! A 3 out of 5.

I mean, you have Greg Rucka and Ed Brubaker writing Batman. How much more Noir can you get?

This is actually a pretty fast moving installment in the Fugitive storyline from the early 2000's! Bruce is still on the run since being called out as a murderer but we soon find Batman wanting to finally clear his name. With the help of his family and some rough justice, he's able to finally get the answers he needs to be free. When we find out who the killer is, all things break loose, and Batman has a plan one might not expect!

Good: The art is early 2000's for sure, but I love it. I also enjoyed Bruce here, as a man on the verge of losing everything, he seems desperate and tus creates some great tension filled beatdown scenes. The family moments are well done, and surprisingly there's some funny moments to be had. I also liked the fight at the end a lot.

Bad: The storyline seems to have wrapped up, yet there's another volume? Also, even if read volume 1, there's some loose story threads that don't make too much sense. It'll make you go "who's that?" a few times.

Overall, a fun followup to a good volume 1. I have no clue where volume 3 will take us, but this has been a nice surprise.

American Vampire continues to be entertaining. I'm glad I gave this series another try.

So this volume is two stories. The first one really focuses on building the world of American Vampire. We get a little town sheriff trying to solve a murder but soon as FBI agents come into play his world explodes with all new threats, VAMPIRES. Who's the main enemy of the town? Well none other than Skinner himself. A glimpse of what Pearl has been up to as well in this storyline of justice and death. The two part at the end focuses on Pearl and her love life, which is both sad and heartfelt. Where's we also get a look at her old best friend, the one who betrayed her. Remember that bitch? Well she is BACK!

Good: Overall, the flow of narrative is surprisingly really good. This isn't to say Scott Snyder hasn't done this before, a lot of his earlier work has great pacing and flow, but it's nice to see here especially. The brutality of this title keeps up with nails through skulls, head slices off, people ripped apart. It's brutal in the best ways. I like Pearl a lot as a character, she continues to grow into someone very interesting. Skinner, a piece of shit as always, is also intriguing.

Bad: I'll admit, while the art is good a lot of the time, the sketchy feel can get annoying. It's especially hard to tell what's happening when too much dark colors are used.

Overall a 4 out of 5. This series is remaining high in quality and I hope it stays that way!

Ah man we were on such a high running streak. This one...just wasn't as good as the last two. Saying that though, it's still fun!

So we have Kyle and Guy finally opening up their restaurant. Of course, cooking Earth food for the universe might be a little trickier than they thought. Especially when they have to teach aliens how to cook. On top of that we have to get back to Guy's date he promised. Oh, and someone is killing family members of the Green Lanterns. That's a no-no. The second half of this book dives into my least favorite part of the Green lantern Mythos. The "love" ring.

Good: I liked the opening a lot. Kyle and Guy have a lot of bromance going on and it works on almost every level. The disturbing imagery of flying eyeballs and death to the family is a lot to take in but at the same time it makes this feel like a real threat, and I appreciate that. I also thought as always the fights were pretty cool to see.

Bad: The 2nd half is very wordy and boring mostly because I hate the love ring and everything to do with those powers. Also, the great Mongul reappears but his stuff feels a bit rushed here.

Overall, a good book but not great. It needs to find it's footing once more. A 3 out of 5.

This volume as just fun as hell.

First part is having Kraven the Hunter chasing down Old Man Logan. He keeps thinking he's better than Logan and giving Logan advantages and shit but Logan about this show this bitch who's the real predator. Then second half is the return of Bullseye. He did NOT like how their last showdown went and wants revenge in the worst way. Killing everything in his path, Bullseye is a piece of shit to the max, which makes a extremely entertaining storyline.

Good: The fight with Bullseye and Logan is brutal as fuck and great. Actually, there's some action scenes in here that are just wonderfully done. I also think the slowly dying Logan works well here and the dialogue balanced with the action keeps this at a perfect pace of always entertaining.

Bad: I didn't love the Kraven arc, a bit too silly.

Overall, super fun. Brisson knows how to make Old Man Logan and fun and interesting title, mostly due to Logan and his villain of the week. I want to see Brisson do a Bullseye vs Daredevil story really bad now. A 4 out of 5.

While this season remains more interesting than the last two, this volume isn't all that amazing.

So Buffy and the crew are still dealing with trying to live together and also writing the new laws of magic. It's half a comic of moving in with friends and trying to be peaceful while dealing with girl/boy troubles and then the other half is Andrew trying to bring back someone after they died while a new demon rises to try and kill Buffy because...well who isn't trying to kill her.

Good: I really do enjoy the new art style. It's not super detailed but everyone I can tell who is who, which is nice. I also enjoy the bromance between Xander and Spike. Both working on their lives is really nice. The fights stay entertaining and nothing is "dreadful" which is a nice turn from the previous seasons.

Bad: Nothing major really feels like it's happening. Also, at this point, Andrew doing stupid shit seems kind of iffy.

Overall, good, almost great stuff. Real character growth even if storyline isn't up to par. A 3.5 out of 5.

There's one sure thing everyone does in life. We die. And so this tale is the last few days of our once villain turned hero, Silver Surfer, trying to find happiness.

It's broken into 4 issues. First telling his friends close to him, Reed and Sue, what's happening. Then in return they react by trying to help him. The next issue is Silver Surfer spending the day with Spider-man after helping him. By the end it's a touching moment that really makes you love this character. The next his Silver surfer riding through space and meets a bunch of aliens. Last is his final days back at his original home to say goodbye to the ones he loves the most.

Good: The art is fantastic here. Some truly stunning shots, especially in space. The raw emotion of character's finding out what's happening and trying their best to help is great. The death of a character can be tricky but this series pays a lot of respect. Issue 1, 2, and 4 all connect to me in ways of accepting death even when you're scared of it.

Bad: Issue 3 was okay. I understood it but didn't love the narrative on this one.

Overall, mostly fantastic. I think this is a title for people who are looking for a mature, and sad, superhero comic. A 4 out of 5.

This is a series I don't think I really ever want to re-read but I will probably recommend it to anyone looking for a political thriller...or just a well written political story in general. Since so many are hamfisted it's nice to see something that feels effortless while also giving us characters to love/hate here.

The story continues where the last one left off. This one really focuses on the past relationships and why people keep betraying others. The biggest characters are back but this time it's all slowly inching towards something horrible. You can feel the pressure building with each panel as the plans begin to form one piece at a time. By the end you get a hopeless message but a message you can somehow hold on to none the less.

Good: Each and every panel has meaning in a way. Sometimes to show life, sometimes to show devastation, and sometimes just to give us a glimpse of someone's mindset before it drifting away from us. I love how there's no clear cut bad guy, and even the worst characters (and there's some terrible characters) have something or someone you care about for them. The ending strikes hard and gives you maybe a empty feeling about civilization? But sometimes we need that reminder to push for some type of hope.

Bad: The book is such a quick read it ended before I knew it (read it less than 20 minutes.) I also think some of the panels reuse too many times instead of creating new ones to show new emotion. Also, not a happy story (DUH!)

Sometimes stories are meant to bring you down, mostly to show you things, or maybe to remind you that YOUR life is not as bad as you think. I really enjoyed this story, and the political message it had, as well as the dark take on each character and their life. I'd read another one easy (I think this is the end though) For it I'd give a easy 4 out of 5.

This is the last volume right for Blackest Night. Things are about to go down!

This is a big volume. Starting from just a regular hang out with a bunch of lanterns helping each other build and paint things to finding out Natu's true past, to learning the Guardians new ways of dealing with their foes, to the build up of the blackest night, and even some goodbyes to characters that we got to know and love in this series.

Good: It's fast paced and a lot of twist and turns to our favorite heroes. The return of some villains, even though some are dealing with even worse villains. The Glooming Blackest Night moments are creeping up. The fights are big and epic and the deaths actually feel like they matter. Kyle and Guy's growth is great.

Bad: The exposition dumps here and there can be annoying. Especially since they cover stuff I read in the regular green lantern side of things. I also think, while finding out who Natu was, the background was kind of shoved in.

Overall, pretty great. Sure, some issues here and there, but the fun is to be had. Obviously Tomasi loves these characters, and for that, he's writing them really good. Helps the art is kickass too. A 3.5 out of 5, pushing it to a 4.

The end to the main run of Gerry Duggan's Guardians is like the rest of the series, over the top and fun as hell.

This has each member of the guardians on their own mission. Actually, it has most of them going in groups of twos trying to all come to the same conclusion. With Ant Man and Gamore teaming up to Quill and Rich becoming best bros once more, and Rocket just being a little Snarky badass, we all come to a big build up for the Infinity Wars event. With everything set in place, new faces, old faces returning, and Drax's new mission, it feels like one big set up but with a lot of heart in it.

Good: Loved the hell out of Ant Man in here. Who knew he'd be one of the best characters in GotG? I also thought the art was solid, some great fight scenes, and funny moments to be had. Groot is f'ing adorable here and a badass, and we start solving the evil groot problems too. Quill and Rider back together is perfect.

Bad: Drax storyline seems a odd place to end up tbh. I also realize it's BIG on set up so it feels like moving pieces instead of always naturally happening.

Overall, fun as heck. While not as strong as say volume 1 in storytelling, the dialogue and art are always up there. A 3.5 out of 5.
