I'm happy to report that after the Man of Steel mini-event, Bendis has put together a strong arc for Superman.
See, Superman isn't really a easy character to always write. You have to give him villains and stakes, and it's not always so easy for someone who is nearly unstoppable. However, the more important factor is giving Superman the humanity that some people don't seem to want to put in to their superman stories. You want to feel for the guy, since he's always trying to do the right thing, and I think Bendis does it better here then he did in the mini-event (Which I thought was good but not great).
So Superman is doing his Superman things. See, last we've seen Clark he had lost his wife and son. On the search to find both he spends his time around earth saving and helping people. His self doubts if he's doing enough, and his friends trying to push more responsibility on him is a interesting little twist. However, when the Phantom Zone begins to open and the world gets sucked in, we are in trouble since all of Superman's greatest foes live within. One of the biggest of all time? Rogol Zaar himself! The main villain from the Man of Steel event. If Superman can barely handle him one on one, how can he face off Rogol Zaar and a army.
Good: I really like the art here. I think it's a big reason I enjoyed this so much. Everything looks epic, especially some of these amazing fight scenes. I like what Bendis is doing here with Clark. Giving him the humanity in the internal thoughts and caring for us all, while also fighting his best to keep a strong front. The second half of this arc flies by, with massive fights, but they're highly entertaining. I'll also state the last issue is great because of a defeat, and a surprise return. Bendis is shaping up to make his Superman run pretty dang entertaining.
Bad: There's moments of over the top silliness with the dialogue. I think Barry (Who the artist got mixed up and drew Wally instead in one part) is way too silly and dumb. I mean, don't get me wrong, joking Barry is nice but it felt a little meh here. I also thought the first half is a little shaky and they throw a lot at you with the past and such.
Overall, this is great for fans of the more action packed superman while still keeping the heart of the character. I'm overall impressed with this title, more than I thought. It hasn't reached the heights of Peter's run yet, but I'm hoping it does. A 4 out of 5.

And so ends Dan's run of Aquaman (I think? I believe there's a new writer for main series, after this are crossovers) But it was missing what boosted this series up for me. Stjepan Sejic art.
So of course with the new king going a little mad Aquaman has to push his plans up a little more. Murk is sent by the new king to finish off Aquaman but while he's doing that the king is evolving into a monster. No really, he has some dark energy thingy that transforms him into a fishy monster. Come on guys, this is Aquaman. In doing so he becomes a near unbeatable force but when Aqauman teams up with everyone else, will he having a fighting chance to end the civil war?
Good: The art isn't bad, let me clear that up. It's not Stjepan Sejic, but it's still solid enough. The fights are pretty great, usually brutal in a way, and of course lots of bloody floating everywhere because they're under water. I also enjoyed the last issue because it's building up to something pretty dang interesting.
Bad: Ugh the start of this is such a drag. To learn about the new king is so fucking boring. Who asked for this guys background? I also thought the pacing was all over the place. Sometimes mass amount of bubbles per page with endless exposition really slowed this one down far too much for its own good.
Overall, a pretty decent ending. Was fun for the most part but didn't have the grand epic feel I was hoping for. Like most of aquaman's run, it has it's ups and downs. I'm excited to see a new team on the project though. A 3 out of 5.

Batman: Detective Comics, Vol. 8: On the Outside
Phillipe Briones, Miguel Mendonça, Bryan Edward Hill, Diana Egea
James Tynion has left Detective comics. Before Peter (The writer of Batman and Robin New52 and Rebirth superman) takes over they decided to give a arc to Bryan Hill, the main man behind the later volumes of Postal (I love this that series). So does Bryan bring something fresh to Detective comics? Well...
The story is about a new villain around town. His name is Karma, and well...he's not happy with Batman. He blames him for some horrible events that have happened to him. He declares that Batman's family have spoiled him. Have made him weak. He demands the death or retirement of Orphan, Signal, and whoever else was sticking with Bruce after the breakup of the Batmen. Will Karma succeed or will this be the end for the Batfamily?
Good: I think the art is pretty solid, though some action scenes seem a bit odd. Like almost goofy and don't think on purpose but for most part looks solid. I liked Black Lightning here a lot and he comes across as a solid leader for the Outsiders (The new group formed here). I thought everyone had a moment to shine, especially Orphan, and it was overall a fast placed plot.
Bad: Batman came across as just okay here. Kind of boring to be honest, which I think has always been the problem in this detective line. The side cast is good-great, and Batman is just okay. Neither James or Bryan write a Batman I like. Also, Karma's "defeat" is too quick and he came across as meh in the end.
Overall, solid fun volume of detective comics. IN line with the good volumes in this entire run. While I don't think it was good as some of the high points of James's run it still stands tall against the good volumes. A 3 out of 5.

This is by far the strongest volume since volume 1 (Which I enjoyed a lot). Why? Simple. The return of Reverse Flash!
Barry is doubting himself. Who wouldn't? After the events of The Button I don't blame him one little bit. So he's trying to decide if he should tell Iris his secret. That he is indeed The Flash himself. With Wallace West still not on friendly terms with Barry, and the Reverse Flash beginning his plans to take revenge on The Flash, things are going to go down fast. A brutal beatdown, a future hunt, and some new powers, this chapter of The Flash has it all.
Good: Really dug the art here. I know not everyone likes this sketchy art but for some reason I just love it, especially the lightning effects. I think the story of Reverse Flash is both funny and miserable, because he's a scary villain, but his background always been funny because he's just a weirdo stalker who can't get what he wants. I kind of love it. I also enjoyed the stakes here and a certain brutal beatdown is both scary and sad.
Bad: I thought the very ending with the new power is kind of weird and out of left field. I'm assuming it'll be a big part of the next arc but still weird. Also, Barry complains a little too much.
Overall, this is a really fun chapter. It has issues but I read it in one sitting and had a blast. A 4 out of 5.

Sometimes time skips don't help the story...
I really loved volume 1-2 of this series but volume 3 just comes across as decent. Not because of the new team, they're both actually pretty talented. I especially enjoy Jody Houser writing usually, but here it comes off a little odd. We have Annie in her high school setting now being her high school girl self. You know what that means. Be distant to parents and worry about image and being your true self. Then have Peter worrying about his daughter and MJ coming across as more of background thought here. It doesn't have the family bonding I was hoping for but basically this story covers a lizard story and then new super powered teenagers.
Good: I enjoyed some moments a lot. I thought Peter teaching her that it's not always villains are just pure evil. It was a good teaching moment for annie. I also still think the monologue for all the characters is solid and pretty funny at times. Peter and Annie relationship is still solid.
Bad: MJ doesn't feel like a main character anymore which makes me sad. I also thought the storylines were okayish. I didn't really feel any big emotions on this volume or family moments like volume 1-2.
Overall this was decent but not great. It feels a step back sadly from the previous titles and I kind of blame the time jump. I feel like we could have had a lot more storylines from Annie as a kid. A 2.5 out of 5.

In this volume The Flash is learning to deal with Venom taking ov-- Sorry, the Negative Speed Force.
I'm just teasing. This storyline does have a big venom vibe though but it's actually pretty entertaining so that's a plus.
Barry has lost almost everything. Even more he has the negative speed force as a part of him. What is it you ask? Well it makes him even stronger than before but also more dangerous. When he uses his powers it can create explosions or even kill people. It's a new power, and while it sounds useful, it could be very dangerous. On top of that we finally get Barry's life moving forward, with him starting a job at Iron Heights. Last but not least we have Wally and Barry beginning to work together again but of course it's not all cheerful smiles and high fives.
Good: I actually really liked Kid Flash and The Flash working together again. I just enjoy the idea of Barry having a backup with him and being a mentor. I also enjoyed Barry flipping out and losing his shit. Getting to the point he holds too much on his shoulder and just about to lose it. I also enjoyed the new rogue, he was a unique look and a kind of scary power.
Bad: The negative energy angle is kind of been there done that. I didn't really find him battling with it that well done. I liked the bathroom scene but that's really it (and no dirty minds, not that type of bathroom scene). Also the art changes half way through a arc can be disjointed.
Overall, a solid follow up to the effects of running scared. While The Flash hasn't hit the 5 star rating I think Joshua is providing a solid fun storyline. Not as good as Johns or Waids but way better than anything in New 52 Flash. A 3.5 out of 5.

After a stellar volume 3 I was pretty excited for this. Not only did the last volume really impress me but I also love Blockbuster as a villain so I was ready for this one!
The volume starts off actually pretty good. Nightwing is going full on working the superhero thing. He's using all his time to take down villains and work the hero angle. He's having issues with Shawn too after the scared pregnancy of the last volume. On top of that a old villain shows his face, BLOCKBUSTER, but is he the same one we've always knew? Not to mention this is a call back to Agent Grayson as some old friends and foes show up.
Good: I enjoyed the stuff with Shawn and Nightwing. I think it's pretty intriguing and complicated relationship. I also enjoyed the fights as Nightwing's style is fun to watch him jump around and whoop some ass. The idea of blockbuster return was pretty intriguing and Shawn's story progression was well done.
Bad: The idea of Blockbuster was cool but the end result...not too great. He almost becomes a background character to the rest of the story. The return of Spyral is just meh too. I didn't love the pacing of this series as some parts were really dull.
Overall, it remains a pretty fun series, but a step down from the last arc which was great. A 3 out of 5.

I'm going to tell you a secret. So you know the Rogues are like The Flash most known baddies besides Reverse flash and *Raises hand* I don't really like them. I know! How can you say that as a Flash Fan? I don't know. I just don't find them that interesting.
So anyway, due to the last volume we have Barry working in Iron Heights. It's not going well as the environment is different than what he's used to. However, before we get to that, we have the return of Meena! She's here to help Barry with the Negative Speed Force. The other half deals with the Rogues in the Prison after one of them turns up dead. Who killed him? With that we have Godspeed without his powers helping Barry or is it a trick?
Good: Really enjoyed the stuff with August. I think he's the best character made by Joshua. He's complicated and his power, similar to Barry's helps. The ending leaves it to some interesting ideas and I liked the moments with Wally trying to figure out what the hell to do with his life.
Bad: The rogue stuff is just okay. Captain Cold is silly and his defeat (because come on, he always loses) is so stupid. I also think Iron Heights is too "Dark" to anyone not look into the Warden's corrupt ass ways.
Overall, a okayish volume. It has some good moments, but overall just a very in the middle volume. After two really solid ones, this comes off just decent-good. A 2.5-3 out of 5.

What a major disappointment compared to Volume 3 which I truly enjoyed. This? Not so much.
Honestly, this is like Saturday morning cartoon episodes here. Just a bunch of unrelated stories all pushed into one book. Batgirl dealing with Penguin on Christmas, fighting a blob creature that attacks woman in bathrooms, it's just really boring stories all put together. It's not awful, nothing offensive, and the art solid, but if you skipped this you wouldn't be missing much. A 2 out of 5.

Okay I'm really dropping this series till a new team comes on or somebody tells me it gets loads better.
This is the end for Titans and me. Sad too because when announced this was my most hyped comic. Love Nightwing and Wally so my hype was real. Then I read it. And it wasn't good. It was getting worse and worse as it went on till we finally get to volume 4, which is the worst volume yet. After a 2 star, 2 star, 2 star, and a 1 star, it's safe to say this messy series hasn't learned a damn thing.
The titans break up, which is super melodramatic and really badly done. It raises a couple of decent questions but lost in the whole "Nightwing you're batman's little bitch" from Roy. Roy is as annoying as ever, and this whole volume is based on him and his forced "Drug addiction" crap. Don't even get me started on being tricked and forced to have sex with. Ugh this whole volume is crappy and also confusing if haven't read No Justice.
A 1 out of 5.
