A step up from the last volume but lacking a little something here and there.

So there are two stories here. One is Logan dealing with Kingpin and Bullseye. This is during the era where Kingpin is mayor of new york. When someone meets up with Logan and gives him a harddrive, and then is murdered, Logan is on a mission to keep the drive safe and others. But Kingpin of course sends Bullseye after him and that...well doesn't go very well. Then the 2nd part is Logan going back to the mansion to learn he's dying, slowly, but it's happening. At the same time a X-men, Glob? Is going out on his first date but you know that never goes well.

Good: I liked Logan dealing with fights in his old age. It's kind of funny watching him bumble around and get his ass kicked in a weird way. I also like how he seems more at peace with dying than he ever has before. The Glob stuff, while a little on the nose, was cute. I liked seeing teenage mutants deal with everyday problems.

Bad: I thought both stories were decent but nothing we haven't seen before. The art also suffered at times, hard to tell what was happening in big fight scenes.

Overall it's good but nothing special. Kind of like most of Old Man Logan since Volume 1 (With the exception of volume 6, I loved that one). But I have to say I'm sticking with it, so that says something. A 3 out of 5.

A good, but not great, send off for Laura as the Wolverine.

So we start off with two standalone issues before getting into the Old Woman Laura storyline. The first is basically a team up with Deadpool and Gabby. It's about as magical as you can expect. The next story is about a woman wanting revenge for her father being killed. Laura had killed her father but the woman knows better than that and together she teams up with Wolverine to take down the people responsible. Last storyline jumps into the future with Laura as a older warrior who learns she is dying. So she, plus Gabby, and a few other heroes head over to rescue the missing heroes.

Good: The Gabby + deadpool issue is pure amazing. Seriously. A 5 out of 5 in terms of enjoyment. It's the type of goofy, over the top, yet somehow you get emotional, type of story I always enjoy. I also enjoyed parts of the old woman laura story, especially the start and very end.

Bad: Some parts of the old woman laura felt kind of boring or cliche. I also thought the storyline of revenge was just okay and had been a little out of place here.

Overall a solid goodbye. I think it could have been stronger but what we got here was entertaining. Overall I enjoyed Taylor's run for Wolverine, and while not as strong as couple of the middle volumes, it was still a good send off. A 3 out of 5.

I don't know the complete history of Frank but is this really the only time he thought to steal the Warmachine suit? I mean, the dude loves guns. War machine is the ultimate gun weapon. How can this be?

Anyway, Punisher starts off here killing some criminals. Then Fury does a little stop by and asking big old frank for some help taking down some bad guys across seas. Where he can't go, legally. Frank passes but then Nick Fury tells him where he can obtain the War machine suit, or one of them, and bam! We have a Punisher War Machine comic! When Frank has all the resources in the world to take down camps filled with bad guys who can stop him?

Good: I actually liked the way Frank acted here. Kind of cold as usual but occasionally had some funny one liners mostly playing off other characters. The brutal kills are still there, and while not AS brutal as say the Max series, it still stings when see people's heads get crushed. I also think the theme and idea of this story is great. Punisher as war machine fits like Peanut butter and jelly.

Bad: The plotting drags a bit too much. Some generic beats such as a good guy helps frank and guess what happens when the bad guys attack? And the only thing to stop Frank is another, you guessed it, war machine. The art was decent, but sometimes a little too blurry.

Overall this was fun, over the top, Punisher story. I'm eager to see where it goes based on the ending, that was one of my favorite parts! A 3 out of 5.

Whoa what a surprise with this one.

So this really gives us a look of the dangers of crazy fans, or people who obsess over people, and cyber stalking and the real stalking. Our main character, Nash, has her life flipped upside down when a video leaks of her and her boss screwing at a christmas party. It's before she began dating her girlfriend but of course it all falls apart because now the public knows. News reports everywhere, comments from random people who can't mind their own business, people obsessing over her, stalking her, and then of course the whole legal side of it.

Good: Love the social commentary on our current society. The darkness of the web, electronics in general, but also the witty dialog that comes with it. I also really enjoyed Nash as a character and felt her pain throughout.

Bad: I thought the ending didn't really fit. It felt almost like a cop out in a way. I also didn't love how it felt rushed or if we MAY get more.

Overall this was really entertaining. I didn't love the ending but the rest? Kickass. A very solid 4 out of 5.

Hulk is pumped up on hate fuel cause this dude is going head to head with the entire Avengers team.

So what is happening with the good old green giant? Well after the events of the last book we have the hulk walking around the world doing what he does best. Fucking shit up. However, the Avengers try to stop the hulk. In doing so we have some epic showdowns, including Thor getting manhandled and She-hulk getting her butt whooped. Then the 2nd half involves the Kreel trying to take down Hulk and well...what do you think happens?

Good: The fights are super vicious and fun here. Hulk has never seem more threnting when he's in full control and "devilish" as they call him the Devil Hulk. I also think the art works well for this series and gives a good feel of body horror and fun epic battles. The first half is a big action set pieces, and it only slows down a bit before picking back up.

Bad: The side cast here can get a little boring. The background story and the people after the hulk are easily the weakest part of the series.

Overall hulk continues to be a super fun read. Probably one of the most fun at the moment. I'd go with a 3.5 but I'll bump it to a 4 for the entertainment factor.

I can't believe how fucking FUN this was.

So after the events of Thanos Wins, we get a little bit more time with this insane Frank. That's right, the Cosmic Ghost Rider is none other than Punisher. He died so this story begins with him in Valhalla and he decides to go on a little journey. Heads back into the past and is ready to kill baby Thanos, but the little baby Thanos decides to say "Fuck that" and attacks him. Frank decides he can't kill a innocent, because he hasn't killed yet, and decides to embark on a quest to raise him. Of course...this doesn't work out well.

Good: Everything. The art is fantastic, with vivid colors and badass fight scenes. The humor is on point, laughing multiple times throughout. Baby Thanos is amazing, just amazing. I also loved the ending, as it's almost bitter sweet. Also, the ending builds into a new run which I'm sure freaking excited for.

Bad: Nothing.

Overall, loved this. Might be my favorite Marvel title of the year. Off the walls crazy. A 5 out of 5.

So I haven't read all of Slott's run. I'm actually kind of all over the place. Two volumes of Worldwide, Two volumes of superior, and read all of his Big Time. In reading his run I found things I loved (his villains) and things I didn't really enjoy (His Peter/Spider-man) But I was focused on getting the 2018 best Marvel comic list done so I skipped ahead a bit and went right for his final two arcs. Did Slott finish strong?

This starts off as Spider-man doing, well Spider-man things. Little missions here and there, saving the day, you know, friendly neighborhood things. In the background though Osborn, now unable to become the green goblin, has been planning his big comeback. He fuses himself with carnage to become the RED GOBLIN. A Green Goblin with the craziness of carnage. What could go wrong, right?

When the Red Goblin finds out who Spider-man is, the fight begins. Peter calls in all the favors he has and his friends, including Human Torch, Miles, Silk, and Anti-Venom all come to his aid. Red Goblin isn't just a simple foe though and he soon begins to wreck havoc on everyone in Peter's life to the point the Spider just might snap.

Good: The Red Goblin is a great villain. Dark and errie, but with just enough insane moments to make him different than just the Green Goblin. His fights are a lot harsher here, and when Red Goblin attacks, it leaves Spider-man nearly defenseless half the time. The team up and hero moments are simply magical in this story arc. Watching multiple heroes come to the rescue and some big moments for even Venom, Anti-venom, and Dr. Ock are all highlights of this nail-biting finale. The art is great and even the change of artist doesn't hurt this title much at all.

Bad: The build up issues here are okay. They could have done more to be a tad more interesting. Also, the very ending, while sweet, didn't really hit the emotional levels I was hoping for in those final few pages from a 10 year run.

So did Slott come through in the end? I believe he did. While I've been a bit harsh on some of his Big Time work, and worldwide, I really enjoyed Superior (From what I read) and this final arc is pretty fantastic. A few issues (see what I did there?) aside, this was a strong goodbye. A 4 out of 5.

This was okayish. Which is a shame because I like Dennis Hopeless writing a lot usually.

So this starts off interesting enough. The death of cyclops. At the time this was release nobody knew what happened to one of the most famous mutants ever. Just that he was dead. Now the "Ghost of Cyclops" a group of kids trying to be radical mutant group decide to hurt regular people. At the same time Cyclops, young cyclops, is trying to stay out of the spotlight and be his own person. Of course that isn't going to work. Then we have a couple of subplots about Laura and angel relationship and bobby dealing with being gay.

Good: Some fun dialogue between the characters at points. I still really enjoyed the Laura and Angel moments (even if a bit silly) but least entertaining.

Bad: The art is kind of wonky. I think the fights were pretty hard to follow at points. I didn't like some of the designs for the ghost of cyclops either. The storyline, while not terrible, was kind of cliche and boring.

Overall, it's not a bad title but just okay at best. 2.5 out of 5.

Captain America returns! After Secret Empire and everyone on the internet crying that Steve Rogers hates jewish people, we have turned back to the time Captain America was a symbol of hope! The real Steve Rogers and here, but he has to fix a few things.

This starts off with Cap basically fixing his name and getting things back on track. Then the 2nd half is a weird pull through time, Cap is frozen again, and has to deal with a world broken and dismayed after a evil leader has taken off. Can Cap fix the futures or are we all doomed? That is the question asked here!

Good: I loved the art. Simple and clean (Kingdom hearts is soooo close to coming out) and if you liked Waid's Daredevil run, the vibe is similar here. Cap is returned to the good old boyscout we all love and admire as well. The fights are fun, the heart is there, and no heavy political storyline to be found. What a ending too, a true Cap moment.

Bad: The time traveling thing felt a little out of place of the way the story was going. Like a sudden jump. Also the future characters weren't all that interesting to me.

Overall, a fun, light, super cool adventure for Cap to go on. After Nick Spencer's darker, more political take, this was a nice bounce back (Even though I liked some of Spencer's run a lot) This is a easy 3.5 out of 5.

I wish Gerry Conway wrote Peter Parker all the time. He writes him near perfect.

So the story continues with Annie, MJ, and Peter working together as the Spider family. The X-Men come into play, with Xavier asking MJ and Peter if they'd let their daughter join the school. Then of course the school is attacked because, well this is a comicbook. The next storyline is about Venom and his great return but this time attaching to MJ. Last storyline is about Normie, the little devil, and why he's so evil.

Good: I really love the family dynamic. I can't stress enough how fun the dialogue is in here. I really loved the hell out of Peter and MJ interactions but the stuff with Annie is great too. The fights are fun, and even epic, especially one fight with venom and then another with Spider-man and Rhino. The pacing is quick and a breeze, and even with a wordy script, it's always light and fun. The art is great, of course, Stegman is one of the best around.

Bad: The storylines themselves are just solid. It's not amazing but it gets the job done. I also thought the ending came out of nowhere and too quick.

Overall still really enjoyable spider-man series. While not as good as volume 1 it still remains really good. Around a 3.5-4 out of 5.
