This was a meh followup to a great start.
So Evil Reed is about to make his move but shield decides to use their ace up their sleeve. They throw in the Hulk to take down Reed and his City. So what happens? Well, Reed convinces Hulk to join him and get back at the people who tricked him. Then Tony and Thor work together to take down Reed and his army and...well that's what happens because Hickman hops off this book to write main Avengers and Sam takes over so they had to wrap up.
Good: The art is still good. The fights are small but Hulk's rampage is pretty great. The idea of Hulk being reasoned with by one of the smartest man in the world is great. Also, last but not least, Tony going a bit crazy cause of the tumor is pretty interesting.
Bad: The wrap up to the story is kind of weak. Just a simple "Victory" after ALL that great build up. You could tell the story was supposed to be way longer. I also thought the dialog would alter between great and okay.
Overall a okay ending. Still entertaining but not nearly as great as the first part. A 3 out of 5.

Good thing I took the advice of others and read Fray before jumping in to it. So, advice for new readers, read Frey!
So what's it about? Well buffy and crew are trying to hunt down some mystical blah blah, you know same old, but Willow by accident sends Buffy in to the future. Wait? Is it? Or is it all planned! With getting deeper understanding of Frey's world, on top of what may happen to Willow in the future, new enemies coming out, and old ones plotting, everything is getting bigger and grander. Oh and Dawn is half horse now.
Good: Love the heck out of Frey and Buffy meeting. Two girls, two slayers, so different, yet so alike in some ways. I also thought the Dawn turning into half horse was pretty funny. Willow has some cool moments and a nice reveal that seems to be building to something big.
Bad: Some of it's to grand, or epic scale, to really get in to it. The baddies behind the scene keep scheming but nothing is very interesting there. Also, Frey's brother is a little bitch bitch, and haven't seen him do anything to make him such a heavy threat.
Overall it's a solid entry into season 8. Probably one of the weaker volumes but saying that I did enjoy it. A 3.5 out of 5.

Wow this was not what I was expecting from super star Geoff Johns.
No really. This was a messy first volume with very very basic plotting. Got Iron-man, Cap, and Thor leading a mix mashup of different heroes to find out why an attack is happening. This is really just a huge volume of different avengers fighting and bickering with some cool fight scenes thrown in every once in awhile. I know, that sounds like every team up book, but this didn't hold a threat worth remembering, or character interaction worth noting.
Good: The art is fine. It does the job. There's some good moments with Cap and Falcon.
Bad: The rest was kind of a blur. I barely remember the villains, the character interaction was okay at best, everything felt pretty meh. That's the big issue, it was boring.
Overall, this is not Green Lantern. Johns has done better than this. Can't give this higher than a 2.

I'm not one to read single issues. Like to have a whole arc done. However, I had to read this one since it's going to have huge spoilers. Don't worry though, I won't spoil it in this review.
The sanctuary is a place meant for heroes to go to when dealing with too many issues. It might seem insane, but after stopping crazed villains, barely surviving fights, and saving the world, you might have a little PTSD. Just a tad. so a lot of these heroes came here to get away from that. It seemed almost like a safe haven of sorts.
Then it all goes wrong.
The issue starts off with Superman making his way to the sanctuary while Batman and Wonder Woman are on their way. It's kind of a great way to start because right away it makes you feel nervous of who you'll find dead next. Two pages in and you get some answers. Between Superman investigating the scene and trying to take in all the deaths we go back and forth between small little moments with characters explaining why they go to Sanctuary.
Then the other story at play here is Booster Gold and Harley Quinn going at it. Lots of stabbing, blood, fighting, and ton of fucked up moments. You're getting bits and pieces of what happened at the Sanctuary since these two seem to be the only ones to survive the murder spree.
Good: The art is fan-fucking-tastic. Like truly amazing. The grief, the sadness, the deaths, all look amazing. This is a heavy issue and the art nails it. I think having Superman to be the one to find all the bodies is perfect. He's pure of heart, and his reaction, it's heart wrenching and oddly enough most human of the trinity so it hits harder. I really dug the booster gold and Harley back and forth and catching little clues to what happened and that ending...damn...
Bad: I think the deaths, while horrifying to see, I feel won't stick. It's not comic book logic that nobody stays dead. I'm more focused on the fact Booster Gold plays a huge part here and his power is to go back in time and change it so....
Overall this was a great first issue. I don't know if I'll read each issue as it comes out. I might want to wait till it's completed but not a 100% sure. This is damn fine writing, King does his things. Then the art...goddamn it. So good. It's dark and heavy, so might turn some people away, but for me? I'm loving it. A 4.5 out of 5.

Super short volume but pretty damn fun.
So Aquaman needs help taking the throne back. He goes to the Ninth, which are basically the ghettos of the underwater world, and ask for help. King Shark, which if you don't know about, is pretty much a big fucking talking shark, says nah bro we good. But then Aquaman goes to fight anyway because Mara is dying and he needs to take it, to break the spell, before she dies. So the war begins. Then we also have a one shot story of Aquaman and Mara much older living with their son in a perfect style world but we all know that can't be true...a what if almost style story.
Good: I think the art is fantastic. Like so damn good. My boy does his job. The pacing in this volume is perfect. Very quick and fun and the ending leads up to both Mara's solo mini-series and more aquaman love. The one shot, while I have issues, is actually pretty well done and I feel really bad for their life of the queen and king.
Bad: The art in the one shot is really bad in my opinion. Hard to take a lot of serious moments seriously.
Overall this was pretty great. It mostly is thanks to the fantastic art of the main story and of course the pacing a lot quicker than the start of this series. Hope it keeps up. A 3.5 out of 5, but I'll bump it to a 4.

This remains a ton of fun.
Loki is still trying to do the right thing. Less James Bond this volume and more dealing with who you are. The first arc revolves around Doom kidnapping Loki and making him pay for his crimes, well future crimes, and then Loki and Doom have to team up because...Red Skull is worse than them both. Then we have a Axis crossover where Loki become pure of heart and has to deal with a very very angry Thor. In doing so leads to the final arc of Thor finally snapping and nearly killing Loki after finding out what he did to his younger self.
Good: I really loved the Thor issue and him flipping out once finding out what happened. It's brutal and it's a hell of a beatdown. I also enjoyed the Axis issues of Loki becoming pure of heart and doing good for the sake of it. SIlly? Yes. But fun. The doom issues had issues (see what I did there?) but when have a smart ass Reed kid around it makes it entertaining.
Bad: The art was all over the place. SOme issues good but some pretty bad. Also, Doom kind of came off as a cry baby bitch here. Very odd when in another series, out of time, he's far different and scarier.
Overall this was really fun. It's a little all over the place due to a event messing up the flow but I think it worked well enough. I had fun and read it all in one sitting. A 4 out of 5.

With the venom movie I decided to read some venom comics.
This was not good.
I'm not to familiar with Mike Costa work. I've only read volume 1 of venom from him and then this. Both of these are pretty bad. So maybe he's just not a writer to tackle a character like venom. On this volume we have a little flashback of how Venom became who he is. The big 150th issue so it covers a lot of origins of eddie and also what happened to Flash when he lost the venom suit. Then we have venom face off against dinosaurs and a little cross over with Moon Girl and her dino.
Good: The 150th issue has some really badass art that I liked a lot. I also thought seeing what happen to Flash when he lost Venom was cool.
Bad: Dinosaurs verse Venom should be EPIC. It fails. It's silly, over the top, but worst of all it's not FUNNY. It should be. Also the art is really all over the place and sometimes it's downright horrible and hard to tell what happens. The storyline is just...ugh.
Overall this is another very mehish volume, kind of just crappy, but not the worst I ever read. Least the 150th issue is decent. A 1.5 out of 5.

Jesus christ that first issue 0_0
So this is it! The big day has come. Jamie is about to be a dad! We then go into a spiriling adventure of crazyness as every character of the X-Factor team gets their own storyline. When jamie goes to visit his dupe who's a priest we get flung into a future world because, you guessed it, the girl who knows everything is back! On top of that we have to deal with Cortex who's a nasty little creature who begins to hurt the rest of the team. Shatterstar shows up as a surprise guest and...well all in all, without spoilers, this is a insane volume.
Good: The interactions are fantastic. I mean everyone coming together, the dialog, the way everyone speaks, they all have their own voice. The storyline is crazy, everywhere, so much is happening, yet it's never confusing. The split of the team makes for a interesting idea but it actually enhances the story. Also, how amazing is the end of this volume? Also, the first issue is one of my favorite issues ever in a Marvel comic.
Bad: The future storyline can go one of two ways, and I'm hoping it doesn't go the bad way.
Overall this volume was both funny and intriguing. The best since the first volume. I can't recommend x-factor enough. A 5 out of 5.

The Hunt for Wolverine is here! It's time to find Logan because...well he sells a lot so let's go fucking find him people.
This is split up into 4 different storylines, or actual books, that all come together by the end. We have Daredevil leading a team of mostly investigators and detectives on the hunt for wolverine. Then we have the Avengers of sorts (Luke Cage, Iron-man, Jessica Jones, Spider-man, and eventually Laura) who promised Logan something and plan on helping to find the body. Then have a group of x-women who are trying to find their friend Logan which includes people like Kitty, Storm, Domino, and more. Last but not least you have the story of these Mutants who have some relation to Logan. Lady Deathstrike, Sabertooth, and Draken all come together, not to help logan, but to find and kill him again.
Good: The two best storylines going are Soule's daredevil team up and Tom Taylor's Avengers like team up. Both stories have some great character moments, especially Taylors writing of Avengers team (please give him a team book with the Avengers Marvel). I also enjoyed the Sabertooth, Draken, and Lady Deathstrike fighting off zombies and losing their ability to heal and trying to survive. Was dumb but fun.
Bad: The X-Women team up was less than fun. I really didn't get the connection with the characters and besides a fun little "This is what Logan gave me" at the start of each chapter I didn't really care for their personality traits here. I also thought the ending of the entire collection was just okay and lead to "Oh so THAT'S where he is but...now we gotta read more"
Overall it's not a terrible cross over events. You can actually read each graphic novel by itself for these four stories. I'd say hunt down the Agenda and Daredevil team books, well worth the read. Both 3.5 and 4 out of 5. The zombie one is around a 2.5-3. And the X-Women team up is no more than maybe a 2. So overall around a 3-3.5. Check it out to lead up to the return of the big bad wolverine!

Predators and Prey
Doug Petrie, Steven S. DeKnight, Drew Z. Greenberg, Jane Espenson, Jim Krueger
These are basically just one shot stories throughout this volume. Felt like each issue or so was a episode of Buffy. So what does that mean? Some are better than others.
We have the whole dawn situation finally wrapped up in this volume. We also have Buffy sending one of her top Slayers to check up on a division in Tokyo, which leads to a lot of lesbian yelling (No really, they argue and complain about lesbian stuff I'm not being sexist) and then there's also story with Faith and Giles. Oh yeah, and remember the fancy annoying vampire Spike hooked up with? Harmony somehow got the bright idea to turn the world against slayers and love vampires...yep it happened.
Good: The storyline with Giles and Faith is pretty solid. Little predictable but something about faith in comic form is really well done. I also enjoyed Dawn storyline getting wrapped up and was wondering how long they could extend it. But it was well done and Dawn is back to being a regular girl.
Bad: The storyline with character's checking in, and dealing with the lesbian crush on buffy and sleeping with her wasn't all that interesting or fun and went on too long. I also thought the Harmony twist was kind of...dumb.
Overall it's a uneven volume. While not great, but not horrible, it stands to have a few good scenes in each issue worth reading. Hopefully series gets back on track soon. A 3 out of 5.
