Whoa, I had to triple check this was written by Lemire.

This volume is horrendous. Easily the worst of the series. While I ALWAYS felt this series lacked something it never became as glaring as it did with this volume. This was goofy as shit but in all the wrong ways. We had Logan team up with some monster squad, which was dumb, and it just flat storytelling. Then another story where he goes back to the wastelands, but not really, and he's really in space and...yeah you know what. Sounds dumb right? It is.

Good: The art?

Bad: The rest.

This is just a TERRIBLE volume that can skip because it's ALL filler TBH. This is a 0 out of 5.

I give some credit to Mike here. He tried to introduce a new character to take Venom over. However, he failed to give us a character we can like.

Venom isn't a easy character to nail. When he's the main character it's even harder. So far only Rick's run on Agent Venom really worked for me. So this story is about Lee, who gets to try on the venom suit. Instead of a internal struggle with who takes over who it's a physical one half the time with Lee able to hold off Venom with ease. It's pretty stupid as Spider-man, a extremely super powered superhero had trouble doing this. Even more so it just becomes a flat story about betrayal and who's going to cross who.

Good: The idea of it is cool. I also liked that since Venom had been a hero so long he doesn't want to do bad anymore.

Bad: The dialog ranges from okay to bad. The fight scenes are extremely underwhelming. Lee is a boring one dimensional character. The storyline itself is poor and cliche as could be good.

Overall venom isn't worth much of your time. It's not the worst book I read but it's pretty uninspiring. I can't give it over a 2.

Well I just finished Venom: Homecoming when I read this and saw Lee in here. I was worried this would suck as bad as that. It didn't.

So what's it about? This gets together Brock, Flash, and Spidy all together to face off against Lee and his army of venom. It's a crazy, 90's like, comic that kind of just has a bunch of big fights that all leads to Brock being venom, Flash being Agent Anti Venom, and Spider-man being...well Spider-man. Oh yeah, and Lee becomes a big Godzilla like Venom.

Good: The fights are pretty great. The humor keeps up throughout and Flash and Spider-man together are pretty great. Also thought the pacing was solid as it was never boring.

Bad: The storyline is nothing special and reminds me of the 90's crossover events, but not in a good way. I also thought Lee as a main enemy was again the weakest part, the dude just sucks.

Overall a fun little event storyline that can read all on it's own. A 3 out of 5.

Babyteeth continues to be one of the best comics of 2018!

So after the crazy events of the last volume this one continues to be a blast. This time we have the father of the hunter from the last volume go berserk. He has just had enough of this bullshit. On top of that Sadie follows Darcy to a new place that promises to protect the baby. Now we all know that shit ain't going to go smooth. Some twist and turns, a whole lot of violence, and a cute little fire breathing Raccoon demon all come together in volume 2 of babyteeth!

Good: The action is great. The art just really gives off this creepy horror vibe but the action bits are insane. The dialog is still very well done, feeling super real, and yet funny when needs to be. I love all the characters, even the villains too, which is a surprise. Also, the father of the hunter from last volume does some shit I did NOT see coming.

Bad: It went by too quick!

Babyteeth is that high end, super fun, and super spooky comic that you want from a horror series. Donny is hitting it out of the park with these comics and this is no exception. A 4.5 out of 5.

I needed a few moments after I finished this one. Goddamn it King, can you write something that sucks please?

So yeah. After volume 1 I took a long time to read this because it's only 2 volumes and wanted to stretch it out. Well damn I read this in one sitting in 25 minutes. I was GLUED to my seat reading this amazing book. So what happens? Well our three main characters are all coming together to take down the "big bad terrorist" but is he really that? Who really is the bad guy? Who deserves to die and live? What is a HERO? So many questions begin to pile up, and those aren't simple answers you can give, and by the end you basically have NO action scenes and yet one of the most enthralling and nail biting books I read in a LONG time.

Good: The dialog. Oh sweet Christmas (watching Luke Cage Season 2 right now) it's so damn good. It's done in a realistic way yet the questions they ask, it's hard hitting, and the way the character's don't have that "I'm the good guy here" vibe is perfect. The art is fantastic, and works on so many levels, and let me just say the ending...damn it. I fucking loved it. Everything about this, pacing and plotting, is perfect.

Bad: Not a damn thing.

This is a classic. While I loved volume 1, it was volume 2 that solidified it for me. This is a scary book to read because of how much gray is here, but it's well worth it. You want a powerful, hard hitting, and thought provoking book? Look no further than this.

Eh this started off good but went down quick.

Well this is the last Metal thing to read. I was actually excited for this because it had some great art, a solid team of writers, and a interesting idea. Sadly, it all comes crumbling down after the start of Gotham resistance. So after we come past the initial events and having our heroes like Robin, Nightwing, Harley and more team up they all break up and then the focus shifts to the Justice League and sorry...they aren't as interesting. Also this has to be read with Metal to understand anything so NOT a good standalone book.

Good: Some of the issues have great art. I also thought the storylines with Damien and him leading the Gotham Resistance as really solid.

Bad: Everything else, and almost all the justice league stuff was dull.

Just kind of a tag on to Metal. Not really needed for reading Metal at all.

This was a mix match of backstories, to give why our Guardians are all where they are, and then pushing the main story just a bit further towards the infinity stones.

SO we get the background of each member. We find out why Groot is so tiny and why Rocket blames himself. We find out why Gamora is acting strange lately. We find out why Drax does not kill anymore. Then we find out why Starlord is...well actually his backstory made no sense. We also get a little time with Rider, getting my Nova love, and what happened to him and his brother.

Good: I really enjoyed almost all these stories. Especially Drax and Groot storyline. Both are sad yet well done. Also, I love the Nova story. I won't lie, I'm a huge fan of them so it's easy for me to enjoy it. Also the ending builds up to some exciting moments.

Bad: Gamora story is okay. Starlord's story is pretty awful. It's the only story I wanted to skip by. Also some of the art is bad, mostly in Starlord's story.

Overall it's about as good as the first volume. This is fun and exciting and even with a dud inbetween it's still working on most levels. A 3.5 or 4 out of 5. I'll spike it up to a 4.

This was okay. It's basically cops going around a mutant only city and solving crimes. It reminds me of Gotham Central maybe? Or like a TV they'd put on FOX that relates to Marvel but not too much. I didn't hate it, didn't love it. I'd go with a 2.5.

This is a story about a girl who cried a...I mean it's about a girl who quits her job, lives with her mostly deadbeat boyfriend, and tries to find happiness in life.

This is basically a few months into the life of Meiko, a girl who's trying to figure out life. With her boyfriend only having a part time job she decides to push him into being something. At the same time she's doing that she's trying to figure herself out. Music is a central point that brought her and her boyfriend together but also all their friends. Will they be able to use that music to become something more than what they are?

Good: This is a slice of life story and does it mostly well. The major twist is easy to see coming but still lands. I also thought the dialog was mostly well done and both funny and sad.

Bad: The dialog bubbles were hard to follow in this one and some scenes did drag pretty far.

Overall this is a real interesting story. While I didn't love it I enjoyed it throughout and was invested in their life. A 3.5 out of 5.

I think this would have been better if I was reading all the X-Men titles relating to this.

So the X-Force is facing off against, probably, their biggest enemy yet. Selene wants ultimate power and she is on a rampage. Doing so she fucks up A LOT of our heroes, and they struggle to gain any type of advantage against her. By the end it's just one big major brawl, which I was a tad sad about, but least was entertaining.

Good: The dialog between the X-Force team is still top notch. Also the fights are pretty epic, usually bloody, and well done.

Bad: It's kind of a messy crossover that I felt lost through most of it.

Overall fun but kind of meh without reading the other parts. A 3 out of 5.
