James really pumping it up at the end of his Detective Run.

Nearly 50 issues in now we got some great moments from the Batmen (the team who works with Batman) but this might be the end of it all. I mean, the title is Fall of the Batmen. So what happens when Clayface, a fan-favorite now, and also interesting character, loses all control. Well, he becomes a gigantic Dinosaur like creature and wrecks Gotham. The team of Batman have to stop him, on top of all the internal drama happening at the same time. What will finally happen at the end of it all?

Good: Everything with clayface worked well, even the annual. This is a gigantic focus on a character I before, never gave a shit about. Cass once again steals the spotlight, having some of the best moments overall. I also thought the ending, and the drifting of the team, worked very well and the emotions felt really high.

Bad: Some over-explaining at points and also some subplots, mostly to due with the children, wasn't that done. Also, Stephanie is acting really out of character for some reason.

Overall a great, fast paced, fun volume of Detective comics. While the last remains my favorite this one is still good stuff. A 3.5 but I'll push it to a 4 out of 5.

Welcome back to the wacky adventures of high school students who steal panties!

So now it's ramped up the crazyness. The main character is now inlove with the crazy girl who put him in the contract to begin with. He will do anything to prove his love to her. Including stealing ALL the girl's panties in the school and putting it up in a hut to prove his love of being a perv. Then have the other girl, who was his girlfriend, wanting to still be with him. Then the secret gets out and the WHOLE town knows what he did.

Good: Interesting to let the secret out. I was wondering if they were going to keep it under cover but nope. Also, the kids have some serious problems, but they don't shy away from it. This isn't a love story, this is a story about destruction.

Bad: It's over the top and still has some fucking scenes of no talking and just images of staring which goes on far too long.

Overall better than the 3rd volume, this complete collection feels more complete, and I'll probably keep going. A 3 out of 5.

This was...a ton of fucking fun.

I know, I know, we've seen this before. A white dude masters the arts of the ninja way and becomes a badass warrior with super technology to take down the bad guys. Oh, is that Batman calling? Well yeah. But the thing is there's only so many ideas but it's how you do them. Ninjak is smart in it's way. Giving us flashbacks, between his childhood, while also his first missions as a killer, and then of course the current storyline. Some supernatural flare with spy-like James bond shit basically in a over the top but very fun storyline.

Good: The art is really solid. Everyone has a distinct look and the action flows smooth. The past storyline is very interesting and kind of flips the script on a Bruce like upbringing which I really enjoyed. Also the missing files were interesting add on to make Ninjak past more interesting for me.

Bad: Some of the dialog, especially internal dialog, can be a bit stretched and too much. Also the main villain here is kind of meh.

Overall this was really fun, exciting, over the trip trippy adventure. This is one Valiant series I will be buying more volumes for sure!

This was one of those graphic novels where like "oh that was pretty good" and sometimes that's good enough.

Alec (A lot of Alec names in my comics now days) is immortal. Well, he can get shot in the head, heart, and pretty much anywhere and come back. So him and his buddy, a fuck up, get killed but he comes back. He decides to use this new gift to take down the people who got himself and his best friend kill. While doing that we also have a flashback of how he met his best friend in college.

Good: Solid art with pretty fun dialog. Sure, it's mostly just shouting and going 'What the fuck" but it worked for the setting. I also enjoyed the ending and thought it was a solid fuck you.

Bad: Feels kind of aimless though. Like you didn't have a main villain and when you did it still wasn't strong enough to make an impression. I also thought the pacing was all over the place.

Overall it was a fun little story. Good Hoopla read for sure. I don't know if I'll remember it in a year but for now, it's a solid 2.5-3 out of 5.

I knew after the last volume it would be hard to top it. This isn't as good but honestly? That's okay.

So this has three parts. Super Friends part 3-4 (Now it's Bruce and Diana's turn to be besties) as they fight for over 20+ years together against a endless horde of monsters while Selina tries to free them. Then we have a Poison Ivy story, which I'm going to be honest here, has never been one of my favorite characters. I get WHY people Love her, but not me. Anyhow she takes over the world and everyone in it except for Selina and Bruce since they had the cure. Last but not least is two one shots, one with the Origin of BRUCE WAYNE. No, not the hero, but a kid who is twisted and turns into a little killing machine. Then the last volume is Selina going over her past interactions with the Batman while trying on a wedding dress...or two...or three.

Good: I love Selina and Bruce together. It works. Maybe it's because of King's writing but they feel like they belong together. I really enjoyed Super Friends part 3 and 4 as well. Diana and Bruce always had a respectable relationship and nothing changes here. Very well done. I also enjoyed the hell out of Selina past interactions with Bruce and of course her trying on the wedding dresses.

Bad: The origins story of Bruce Wayne was kind of flat. It had a cool idea but went nowhere. I think it'll be interesting to see what becomes of him though. Also the poison Ivy story, while not bad, didn't really stick the landing for me.

So nothing terrible here. This is still a very solid collection for me. While I didn't love it like War/Engagement, I thought it was up there with I am Bane at a 3.5. I'll hit a 4 on here because I smiled a lot, and that's a good sign.

Spider-Gwen continues to be a fun series that can be GREAT if it just pushed itself a little more.

So this time around Gwen is doubting herself. Doubting if she's worth the power she was given. Doubting if she wants to remain being Spider-Woman. You've seen this story many times before. Hell, it happens to Spider-man every couple of years so why not to Gwen right? This could have been a interesting storyline but instead mostly just Punisher chasing Gwen until she admits who she is and maybe he goes too far? Well, because Frank Castle might not be a psycho killer in this universe he's still Frank.

Good: I enjoyed some of the fights. They were crazy badass and fucking sweet at parts. I also enjoyed Gwen and her father talking and such. It feels like a family. Mostly still enjoy Gwen in this, she's a strong point.

Bad: Lot of "names" of characters you know and love here but none really very interesting. Also the pacing and storytelling structure is messy and confusing. The ending too didn't give much of a umph which is what I think they expected.

Once again I enjoy another volume of Spider-Gwen but I want to love it. I can only give it about a 2.5, maybe 3, but I want a 4 damn it :(

Damnation is a corner event. What's that? It's a smaller event, doesn't alter major effects in the whole universe, but big enough that might be a couple of crossovers. I just made that up but that's what this feels like.

Okay so what's up? After a bunch of people died, and a whole city of Vegas was destroyed, Doctor Strange didn't want that shit to stand. So what's he do? Well brings back that motherfucking city. And as one of the Avengers says "You know you can't do that without a sacrifice" out comes the door of hell. Mephisto says "Strange, welcome to Damnation" and boom, he gets sucked in to face the demon. However, he ain't going alone on this adventure. We got Iron Fist, Blade, Ghost rider, and more to come to fight the demon of hell!

Good: The art, while changing due to different series, is always pretty solid. I thought the damnation issues and Strange issues were pretty great. Nick Spencer and Donny Cates make a solid team with a super fun storyline and believable dialog. I also thought Ghost Dog was the motherfuckin shiiiiit.

Bad: It's overstuffed, as most events, or mini-events are. The issues giving focus to Iron Fist or even Scarlet Spider aren't very fun or interesting. This is the down effect to not caring too much about their individual series and then pushing them into the main storyline here. Also, the pacing is a little sluggish at points.

So this event was a fun one. Sure it had issues, like any, but I enjoyed the core moments and some great "oh shit moments" with some hilarious dialog. Donny and team did a solid event, a 3 out of 5.

Most of my review is in my damnation review. This volume is basically all of that. So it's about Mephisto bringing hell on earth and strange stopping it. So go read that review to see what I thought.

For the last issue, which is NOT in Damnation collection, this is the final issue Donny Cates writes and honestly it's his best one. It's a bitter sweet goodbye, giving us some great human moments with Strange. However, it's the Spider-man moments that make this issue fantastic. Peter and Strange's friendship is interesting, unique, and a lot of fun. This is both a funny issue and a sad one because you want Donny to stay on Strange once it's over. But for what it is, this two volume run was very solid and for that alone I'm pushing this to the same rating as volume 1. A 4 out of 5.

I love trying other types of books beyond superhero or sci-fi but this...this is just messy and not well done IMO. Pass.

So take Freaky Friday, killers, foul mouth little kids, and some crazy shoot outs and you have Crosswinds.

This is the story of two characters, one is a killer assassin, the other is a housewife, and they switch bodies. You can only guess how out of place them seem once they do that. However, they begin to fit in to their roles the best they can. As the story ramps up, more and more people die, and it becomes a crazy roller-coaster of action and adventure.

Good: I actually loved 90% of the stuff with the mom's side of things. Her raising her step-son, dealing with her soon-to-be ex-husband, kids being assholes around her and more. All of that was great. I also thought the first half was fast paced and a ton of fun. The dialog also is very funny at times.

Bad: I didn't love the assassin's storyline (sorry name is slipping) I just thought it was okay and kind of cliche. I also didn't love the ending, it didn't feel well put together. I know there's supposed to be more, so maybe it'll work better once more comes out, but as it stands I wasn't super impressed. Also the art didn't really do it for me.

Overall this was a fun little book. It didn't blow my mind, and I think Gail has written better, but as it stands if want something that's often funny and charming this is one to check out! A 3 out of 5.
