Eh...I'm having a hard time rating this series. I want to love it but this one is pretty meh.
So long-distance is really messy. It's only 4 issues long. The first two issues deal with pushing the storyline of the previous volumes forward. It's really Matt just being the kingpin and showing how much he knows and how weak Gwen is. Then got the annual which is little stories mushed together to show Gwen's origin. Last but not least got the story where Laura (Wolverine) and Spider-Gwen switch bodies.
Good: I liked the last story. Was cute and funny and it's mostly cause Laura is amazing. Gwen shines a little bit here. I also enjoyed the moments with Spider-woman and Gwen talking and kind of relaxing from all the fighting.
Bad: The art in some of these issues is flat-out terrible. I also thought the annual was a big waste of time and added nothing to the character. The main storyline kind of seems lost too on what to do here and the whole losing powerups is kind of lame.
Overall this was by far the weakest volume in the series so far. Since it ended I'll continue collecting/reading this series to get to the end but this volume put a sour taste in my mouth. A 2 out of 5.

As I read the third volume of Old Man Logan two things came to me. This series keeps missing the mark of being great, only ever being "Good". And that they are extremely quick reads and this is why I love Marvel Unlimited.
So what's happening with our old man logan? Well he's going to Japan of course. Needs to find lady deathstrike. Doing so he gets caught in a trap. Then we jump back and forth between current time in the main universe and his world back in the days before his wife/kids were brutally killed my redneck hulks. Oh, you didn't know that happened? Go read old man logan. Anyway, this group of Japanese silent warriors do not like Logan? Why....well you'll have to read to find out.
Good: Art is still interesting, some really great fight scenes with it. I also enjoyed the flashbacks. By far the best part of the story. Anytime Logan has something to fight for it's more interesting. I also thought the idea of Logan growing as a bitter old man to a character who cares again is good.
Bad: Seriously, how silly was the idea of changing a telekinesis warlord turn good? I mean it felt so forced. It's amazing how Lemire makes such real characters in his own work but here? It feels very corporate pushing. Also, as much as I like the art, sometimes I can't tell what the fuck is happening.
Overall, again, this series is entertaining and enjoyable enough to keep going. I can't help it's still missing all the beats to make it amazing but it's fun enough. A 3 out of 5.

Well now I know why marvel gave Bendis the keys to the Avengers back in mid 2000's.
So what's secret war? Well Fury needed a mission complete. One he knew wouldn't be possible after his own goverment said "nah we good." so what does he do? Recruit some of the biggest superheroes to help him complete the mission including Spider-man, Captain America, Daredevil, Logan, Cage, and more! However...Nick Fury needs to cross a very dark line. One that shouldn't be crossed when fighting for "good" but he does anyway and what happens when those heroes don't remember it?
Good: The art is solid and shows some great emotions on the faces. The fights are brutal and intense. The pacing is crazy quick with a lot of twist and turns and some emotional great moments. The banter works really well and the characters you expect to do the most do it. I also really enjoyed the ending.
Bad: Some of the art work makes it hard to follow what's happening. I also think some of the plotting, structure wise, can be a bit confusing at times.
Overall this is a dark take on Nick Fury's motives and mission. It shows who he is really and also gives a lot of reasons to want the heroes in here working together which is what basically forms the New Avengers. So I can see why Bendis was given the keys to the Avengers after this mini-series. A 4 out of 5.

Stopped half way so I won't write a huge review. The art is solid, but the story is kind of blend. I couldn't really get behind any of the characters or become interested in any of the plotlines. This is a pretty book but very dull to read IMO.
Finally back to reading this. Just bought the newest Gantz series spin-off so wanna catch up.
So the chase is still on. Basically Kei is protecting the love of his life. Most of this volume is one big fight scenes with some huge "oh shit" moments. Then the end starts to give some stories to other major characters and then we get some big reveals. New rules or gifts that will be given to Gantz people. So by the end we have some new twist.
Good: The fights are still pretty great, even as over the top as they are, they are still special. I also thought a death in here was really well done and fucked up. The new rules also will lead to new things.
Bad: The other characters storylines really weren't very interested and took up a lot of time. The kid introduced seems will be used for shock value too.
Overall this is a solid volume, some fucked up moments, but not as great as the last volume. Still good though so a 3 out of 5.

This bored me to tears...after the great last volume this was a letdown.
Holy fuck these new monsters are way scarier.
So these monsters can take form of another person. These aliens are vicious and ready to kill anything that stands in their way. This volume has a lot of surprises, some great fights, a few sad deaths, and the return of those vampire fucks. This is all leading to some big events but this one is crazy on the action and some major deaths.
Good: The fights are intense, the deaths are fucked up, the stakes are on the rise, and the dialog is a ton of fun. This remains super fun and exciting.
Bad: Nothing much. Maybe the odd sense of having the girl not really do much, or maybe she did, and they kind of skipped her fight.
Overall a great, high speed, fucked up volume. When Gantz goes all out it's super fun. A 4 out of 5.

This wasn't bad but not mindblowing either.
It's basically a prequel to almost all the Inhumans stories. This is the past, how the group of Inhumans got together, and why Black Bolt really is king. It kind of races through a particularly turning point of the young people's lives and how they became who they were. By the end there's some big changes to the status quo but it's to be expected based on stories we have now.
Good: The art was solid, I also enjoy Priest writing style. It's always very quick and well done. I also enjoyed how the brothers worked together and it only makes it sadder to know what happens to them. I also enjoyed Madusa in here.
Bad: Some of the characters coming together felt forced. I also thought the ending was really rushed. Wasn't a fan of how Spider-man was written here at all.
This was overall decent. Pretty fun and interesting if like INhumans but don't expect to be blown away. A 3 out of 5.

So Garth Ennis continues his bloody Punisher run in...well Ennis fashion.
So this is broken into 3 different arcs. First one is Mother Russia, which is mostly about Fury sending Frank into Russia to retrieve something (or someone) and lots of twist and turns. Next up is Up is Down and Black is White, which is just fucking insane to be honest. Basically about a mob man who has this dumb fucking idea to dig up Frank's family's skeletons and pissed on them. Yeah...That won't come back to bite him in the ass. The last story is The Slavers, which is probably the most fucked up in some ways, actually in all ways, and mostly focuses on how woman are grabbed up on the street and treated as sex slaves.
Good: Loved a lot of The Slavers. It's actually a great commentary on people not wanting to hear all the bad things to happen to woman sex slaves, but even for me it was hard to read this just to think this really DOES happen, and there is no punisher to help in real life. I also enjoyed a lot of up is down and black is white, because it's over the top, but damn is it entertaining. It also has the best ending so far.
Bad: I didn't like Mother Russia much. It's not horrible but it's kind of boring. To have it as the first story it almost made me want to stop reading for a bit. I also think sometimes Ennis is WAY too wordy and slows the pacing down.
I'd probably end up giving this a 3.5 but I'll bump it up to a 4 because I really enjoyed the last two arcs. Now need to get volume 3!

Holy shit this is crazy one.
It's just one huge fight between the whole crew of Gantz warriors and this big fucking demon looking bastard. It's insane, fast paced, people dying quickly, some major characters being killed, and badass fights. There's not much else to this volume then one big fight but holy hell is it so entertaining.
Good: The fight is amazing. Big in scope, brutal in deaths, this is what we've been waiting for.
Bad: Didn't like the blur effects overuse at times.
This is insane. I read it very quickly now I need to jump into 19!
