Ouch, this was pretty meh.

SO I enjoyed volume 1-2 of Batman Beyond. This...this is kind of like a filler episode. I watched Beyond growing up so I enjoyed it then, and I enjoyed the revival here. But it feels like it lost it's way in this volume. We have basically a bunch of villains, or some-what villains fighting Batman but really the big reveal, or character to add to the group, is Terry's little brother becoming Robin.

Good: Terry is still a interesting main character, and I like him and Bruce together. I also enjoyed some of the big fighting moments here.

Bad: The storyline is really bad IMO. Just doesn't hold any weight. Also, what in the fuck was the main bad guy's storyline? Like his motivation was horrible. Also, Terry's brother becoming Robin was so telegraphed that when it happened it was dumb.

Overall this wasn't horrible but easily the weakest in the volumes of the series so far. I can't go above a 2.5...actually I'd probably land on a 2.

Redneck is probably my second favorite comic of the year so far. First goes to Babyteeth volume 1. Oh, look at that, both done by Donny Cates!

SO yeah, if haven't read my volume 1 review, I fucking loved this series. Take a bunch of rednecks and make them vampires and put them in a story that doesn't FEEL like a regular vampire story, and you got redneck. So take a Gothic southern horror vibe and put it with Donny's crazy dialog and you have a special little gem here.

So after the major events of the last volume we have the group of vampires on the run. Well, it actually is more of them staying in a Cabin trying to figure out their next move. When JV starts training the new vampire things go way wrong. Betrayal, twist, reveals, and more are all contained in this crazy volume.

Good: Once again this series has some of the best dialog ever. From JV internal thoughts, to how people talk to each other, it's high end, always entertaining, and fucking fantastic. The art is still something I love. Gritty, dark, sometimes hard to follow, but the brutal moments really hit. Also, let me just say there's one twist in here I kind of saw coming, but what I love was what the character did with it and the powers on display.

Bad: Nothing really.

Overall another fantastic fucking volume in a awesome series. I want more, I need more, I hope this goes for 10 volumes.

Cool idea, but not the best execution. Funny enough I'm reading another title from Duane but this one? Eh didn't work for me.

So who is The Black Hood? Well he actually killed the original, the main character, who is just a regular cop. Once he kills him by accident he gets shot in the face and loses his looks. So he decides to take the mask of the vigilante he killed and become the NEW Black Hood. So he starts going around taking down criminals in his own way. But of course, it's never as simple as that.

Good: Liked the start of it, and the art, it flowed really well together.

Bad: Everything after the first issue got worse and worse. The idea of him becoming the Black Hood after killing the person didn't make much sense. The twist and turns, how they knew it was him didn't make sense. The switch and bait scene was dumb. Don't get me started on the last issue's ugly as fuck art that clashes with the themes/tone of this story.

Overall this is pretty meh. It's not the worst thing I ever read, and some cool ideas, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. A 1.5 out of 5.

Damn, I'm so glad Tom Taylor is back to writing INjustice.

So this builds up the Ra vs Batman war. Ra has his own team, Batman has his, but see the thing is this doesn't feel as one sided. Before Batman had to face off against gods. Now he's facing someone more on his level but almost as smart if not smarter. On top of that Ra decides to take the kids, including Oliver's own child, which brings some major moments for Green Arrow and Black Canary. Inbetween all this terrible things we do get a lot of human moments, a revival, and betrayal.

Good: Fucking dialog is perfect. I mean it. These characters are different than the norm of the DC Universe but they work so goddamn well for Tom's world/view of DC. I love how they act and react to each other. I also really enjoyed they give a lot of love to minor DC characters like Black Lightning, Animal Man, Blue Beetle, and more. The art remains solid throughout and there's some great fighting moments.

Bad: The stakes do feel less in this title than Injustice year 1 and 2. I mean how do you top a God-like alien killing heroes and Green Lantern Corps going to War? You can't.

Saying that, the series is still something special. The smaller stakes, the human character reactions and the way they talk and fight, and the emotional moments all hit. Injustice 2 Volume 2 remains one of the best DC Titles out. 4 out of 5.

So Wolverine is kind of a whore...I mean I knew that but this volume really showcases him that way.

So to finish up Rucka's run we get a call back. Sabertooth and wolvie teaming up? Maybe? Yeah, you know that shit aint' going to last. What seems like a weird choice, Wolverine drops everything he's doing to go deal with Sabertooth and a girl called Native. By the end of it all we find out some secrets about these characters, and honestly, this becomes kind of a mess.

Good: I liked the moments with Nightcrawler once more, and thought Wolverine and Sabertooth together was pretty funny, and one really screwed up moment by the end.

Bad: It felt messy, rushed, and very un-greg-like. He usually has better plot pacing than this, I felt like he just wanted off the title.

Overall this was okay. Not horrible but pretty meh compared to the first two arcs especially. A 2.5 out of 5.

Could only get half way. This didn't have the same charm as the first one.

I find it funny this has such low ratings when it's basically Punisher but without the Punisher name.

Saying that I don't love the Punisher or over the top violence usually. So X wouldn't be a fit for me, right? Well first you want to know what it's about. Think a Ninja like warrior going around a shitty neighborhood murdering rich pieces of shit who destroy cities and lives throughout their time. A mob-boss killer is basically what this is about. Then have a blog reporter following him around to get the "real" truth of it all.

Good: I liked the fights. Bloody for sure but fun. Also the reporter was a interesting enough character and her view point made it less about X and more about a observer watching all this from the outside. The art is also pretttttty solid!

Bad: The criminals or bad guys are over the top and done a million times before. X is basically Batman meets punisher. Also the start is a little shaky and not sure where it was going.

Overall this is pretty fun in a over the top 80's action movie type of way. I think I'll check out another volume or two to see if it gets better but as it stands this was pretty fun. A 3 out of 5.

Flycatcher is easily one of the least interesting characters for me, and yet still this volume still was solid.

Not as strong as the previous volumes, this one focuses on Flycatcher. You begin to understand why he's just so important. It is a interesting take, and I gotta be honest, I loved the idea of a new army to take on the big evil. SO this one mostly focuses on building, making plans to counter the war, and of course Flycatcher growth as a character to become a king. Pretty crazy, huh?

Good: I liked the ending. I thought it lead to interesting ideas. Watching villains return and turn on each other was wonderful. I also really loved the issue where the kids find out their brother is there too. Bigsby, snow white, and the kids remain the most interesting characters.

Bad: The art for that one issue with the family was really odd and caught me off guard. Flycatcher long winded history and how he became the king was cool but I can't say I was interested all that much and it took me awhile to get through this one.

Overall this is another solid volume. Not as good as the last few but this one still remained interesting enough I wanna read more.

So this marks the end of the run, and I'm happy to announce it ended really strong!

While the last volume felt like ALOT of set up the payoff at the start of this volume is a fucking blast. Batman is going ALL fucking out. Taking out EVERYONE in his way on his way to save his son. Who decides to join him on this mission? Well Batgirl, Tim, and Jason of course! All coming to Apok with Batman in a super saiyan like armor suit they go to rescue Damien's body and bring the boy wonder back. Once back the remaining volume focuses on Damien using his new found powers but also giving us more of the father/son relationship this series badly needed again.

Good: Love, love, LOVE when Bruce and Damien are together. It feels so real, so much like a father and son trying to work on their relationship, I can't help but love it. I also thought Batman going batshit insane to get his son back, including punching Darkseid in the fucking face, was fantastic. Last but not least the final annual is great and such a great "goodbye" to the team.

Bad: The cyborg stuff was getting annoying and slowing down the pace a lot. I also thought the power thingy was a little tacked on and could've done without it even though it brought out the lolz.

Overall this was great! I really enjoyed it. A flew flaws but overall a very very good "Goodbye" by Peter for his overall great run on Batman and Robin. A 4 out of 5!

I actually was highly entertained by Absolution. But how was Rubicon? The followup that came out YEARS later? Well let's talk about it.

John is still doing what he does. You a criminal? You get away with terrible shit? Well this is the Punisher with superpowers. He will cut, murderer, slash your ass. This is his way, the only way, his mind is now set on it after seeing what the criminals can do. So what happens when the mayor of new york releases a super powered evil piece of shit who can adapt to basically any situation? Well then we got a even bigger problem.

Good: I loved the idea here. For John to basically help the people in need and isolate himself away from regular people/police force. I also really enjoyed the art once more, it works really well. John is also pretty funny and it asks the right questions. The fights are pretty epic here too and some fucked up deaths.

Bad: I still hate the happy kitty character. Oversexualed characters are annoying to begin with but having a Chinese ninja warrior who's panties are always the highlight is kind of just cliche and bullshit. I just hate it, and she gets her own chapter dedicated to her but it's pretty bad.

I'd probably go little lower rating for this one then the first but I'll round it up to a 4 out of 5. Highly entertaining once more and I think Avatar's best series I read for them.
