Rai is slowly becoming more human, and in a sense, that's making me more interested in the series.

So the last volume ends with Rai saying he wants to kill "Father". Father is basically like the all mighty creator of robots in this series. So with Rai turning his back on this asshole, and assembling a group to help him, it's time to take the fight to the big bad. This volume also gives more time for each team member to grow and learn. Some stories more interesting than others but the way this volume tightly gives a single path story that will have them all come together while enough breathing area to give time for each one, it's a pretty unique combo.

Good: I really dug Rai's slow transformation. Coming to terms of who Father really is and kind of feel sad for the poor dude. Also the fights in this one are less but no less badass. The art also seems different, more cartoony, but I like it that way. The ending is downright fucked up and again, leaving you with a cliffhanger, of where it could go next.

Bad: The exposition, while not as heavy as the first volume, is still very much there. Lots of talk of livewire, and how to take down Japan, and some stories told here aren't as interesting as Rai's or another unique robot trying to live with her bomb making maker.

Rai is getting better and it's unique feel and speak to the world of Robots/AI is fun. So interesting I'm reading this and Pluto at the same time. Robots are everywhere! BE AWARE PEOPLE! But no, this is getting good. A 3.5 out of 5.

So this is slighty better than the first but still...dumb?

So we move on to another two people stuck in this school. So we know they are in a different dimension or realm than the real world. These ghost in the school are all little dicks who are trying to kill these kids. Why? Just do. So then we get the blond dude (I won't remember anyone's name from this, sorry) and he's helping one of the girls who he is in love with but she has eyes for another. So as they travel and get further things get worse and worse as you can imagine. Then you have the little sister who's maybe 9 or 10? And she of course has to pee and so the whole volume is her trying to find a bathroom and can't just go into a fucking corner to pee so instead they have the person with her (her brother?) find a bathroom.

Then there's some psycho killer who is taking pics of the dead bodies. Then we have new people who help the peeing sister (who never pees by the way) and something isn't right and of course shit goes insane by the end. We end with a flashback of the main characters older sister bathing him and grabbing his penis as a joke while he blushes. THen she hugs him and her tits smacking right in his face. The end.

Good: So again, the actual ghost and pretty cool and the deaths are fucked up. A particular one closer to the end is pretty much super fucked up and effective.

Bad: The edge of having this series enter hentai is there. You can just feel the creator wanting to. Also the dialog still remains overstuffed with exposition and dribble. Like just downright shitty back and froths with little importance. Also the ending scene was unneeded and dumb. Actually, most of the characters are just awful.

This is saved just slightly by the deaths but the series itself isn't really worth your time (or money) and the best I could give this is a 2 out of 5.

I've been wanting to read Astro city a long time. I love Kurt's stuff usually and I really wanted to love this. Did I? Well...I loved parts of it.

The volume really focuses on the city itself. We get a bunch of different stories, some intertwined with each other somewhat, but mostly it's there to build these characters in the city up. The idea is to give the people of this amazing city their own life and through their eyes learn about the heroes. On the flipside it also gives us focus sometimes on the heroes themselves and why they're interesting. This brings it all together a interesting experiment but also can cause some flaws.

Good: Loved 2 stories, enjoyed 2 others, and thought 2 were duds. Let's talk about the two I loved. There's one where this criminal sees a hero unmasked. He then goes the rest of his days always afraid, always looking always the shoulder. It's a great, tense, interesting chapter. I also really loved the last story here that two superheroes, basically wonder woman and superman characters, going on a date. It has love, politics, and sexism all in one great chapter.

Bad: There's one really boring issue about a bug human who's story isn't only dull but also leaves you not giving a shit what happens. I also thought the first story was a tad boring and didn't give the series the start it deserved.

Overall this was a solid, good, interesting idea. I have a feeling as it goes it gets even better. Right now it's good, so a 3 out of 5, but I'm eager to keep trying.

So Spider-woman's sexy ass is a agent for Hydra! Wait wait, is she? Who is she playing, how far is she a double agent, what is happening? Oh who the fuck is Ronin? Where my boy Sentry crazy ass?

Well this volume is more for the street level dudes. Got Cap, Spidey, Wolvie, and new friend Ronin going to Japan. We just had to get the fucking Hand involved didn't we? They never very interesting. Also we have to deal with Jessica (Spider-woman) and her being a Hydra agent. But then we find out she's working for Nick. But then we find out she might still be working for Hydra. What the mother of all fucks is the truth here? WHERE IS IT?

Good: The art still remains good, unique, and interesting. The team dymanic is solid, with the jokes landing most of the time. The Jessica stuff is very interesting and easily the best part of the book and remaining on her side or seeing if she's bad is always fun.

Bad: Fuck the hand. They suck. They are boring here as ever. Also Tony attack made no sense and he could have used it early.

Overall it was a fun adventure but didn't like it as much as volume 1-2. Still, the jokes are fun, the characters are great, and the fights are pretty exciting. A 3 out of 5.

Well this was a nice little surprise.

I'll be honest sometimes I can't get to the smaller titles. Just between reading IMAGE, Oni, Dark Horse, Marvel, DC, and many more it's tough for me to read the smaller stuff of Marvel. Glad I did on this one. So this takes place during secret empire. Some Inhumans are kidnapped and taking to a prison. A couple of more famous inhumans start teaming up like Daisy (From the shield show) ms. Marvel, and Moon Girl. When the whole crew comes together they are on a mission to save their friends but is it too late?

Good: The art is colorful and nice. A real cartoony look but works well. The character all interact well and the storyline is quickly paced and fun. I also liked the fact each character kind of got into their "Before/after takeover of secret empire".

Bad: The storyline, while fun, kind of feels light. It doesn't really contain much to it other than a rescue mission. The characters feel like they'll split up pretty soon after. So this doesn't feel long term which from being canceled I guess that holds true.

I loved 4 kids walk into a bank by Rosenberg so I wasn't let down here though I feel he was given this as a side project. It feels limited and not really getting to play around with all the characters. Saying that it's decent fun little adventure worth checking out just for the sake of fun times. A 3 out of 5.

This was a really weird book. However, it's from Japan, so I expect no less.

A nerdy dude who reads a lot of books and hangs out with other losers in school has a huge crush on a girl. One day after school he goes back to grab his book and finds her gym bag on the floor. He decides to steal it and take it home because, well it has her school uniform that she wore that day at gym, and he'd like to do some nasty things (Boy lingo for jerking off). However, the news comes out that her stuff is stolen and someone must be a huge perv! Then we find out the girl who sits behind the boy knows he stole it and becomes to play with him. Creating a "contract" that he must do whatever she says or she's going to tell on him. However, she might be more of a perv than him.

Good: It's goofy and funny and weird and it all somehow is interesting. The main girl who is toying with the main character (sorry names are slipping me) is a real weirdo and kind of hot in the way she uses him to get what she wants. Also the art is pretty solid as well.

Bad: The dialog can sometimes be confusing. Like the way they talk, I'm like, who the fuck talks like that? Also the main character is a giant pussy, and that seems to be the general rule of character for 50% of manga and it's annoying but yeah.

Overall this was fun, weird, and I want to read more. So it sums up most Manga for me haha. A 3 out of 5.

I was let down for this being the 2nd series I read from Ed Brisson.

This is a story about a superpower mantle of sorts that jumps from person to person giving them incredible powers. However, a few years prior there's a creature/monster/alien that comes down and starts killing this Mantle user. So when a new mantle user watches a loved one brutally murdered she decides she has had enough and goes after the big bad.

Good: SOme of the fights are pretty epic and really fucked up. Also the start is a interesting idea.

Bad: The storyline is paper thin. The bad guy's motivation is silly as fuck. Also the dialog sometimes just flatout seems dated, weird, or going online, finding lingo on Urban dictionary, and sliding it in there. Which is odd because I didn't get that style from Sheltered. Oh and is there supposed to be more because I can't see how this series continues.

Overall not very good. I was hoping for a knockout like Sheltered but this came off as okay at best, bad at worst, and honestly I wanted way more. 2 out of 5.

Fable town isn't all that it seems. This time we head to the Farm where the unhuman type Fables reside. Oh shit, who's ready for some Animal Farm type shit?

This volume really focuses on Snow white and Red Rose. They go to the farm to check up on all the other fables. However, things aren't what they seem. Soon after we are shown a lot of the animals are building a army to go back and fight the adversary. However, anyone who gets in their way, will pay the consequences. Who will make it out of this one?

Good: I really enjoyed the snow white and red rose stuff. It was really well done and kind of get enough past to understand why they are where they are. Also how great was Snow White wrecking shit? So nice to see strong women in here.

Bad: Bigby whole section felt kind of odd and out of place. I get it had to happen to build towards the end, but took away from the tension of the rest. Also the betrayal is telegram like a mofo.

Overall this is another solid volume. I think I like it more than even 1. It still lacks the character connection to me but I'm getting more into it. I'm hoping next volume we really get into the meat of it. It's a 3.5 out of 5 for this one!

Brubaker, please keep making these as fast as possible, and Sean, please keep drawing them at the same speed, because this series is the one comic I'm always looking forward to when I see a release date.

So Dylan decides it's time to drop the killing. He's ready to be happy, live his life with his new girlfriend, and try to leave it all behind. What happens when a Russian Mafia member begins sniffing around and nearly finds Dylan and so he must kill again. This time though he decides no more wasting time. He's going right to the Mafia themselves, the boss, and it's his turn to take the war to them!

Good: The visuals are once again second to none. It's gritty, dark, and well drawn. Dylan remains one of the most entertaining main characters I've ever read. The fight between the mafia and Dylan is insane and off the charts action packed. The ending leaves you going "Oh fucking shit" and just like volume 1 and 2 I want more.

Bad: It ends...

Overall Kill or Be Killed Volume 3 is top notch just like volume 1 and 2. Will this series ever fail? Probably not. That's good news for all us readers. A 5 out of 5.

Loved the first half, but that second half...

So what happens when you begin to have two different lives. One is your real world where you're at a dead end job, with a girl you probably don't love, sitting around waiting to go to sleep. Then when you do sleep you're in a world of panic, on the road, fucking your old boss, and killing people just to survive. Sam, the main character, is a interesting character that seems to have his mental stability begin to break. What's real? What's fake? He's starting not to know which leads the viewer down the same road.

Best: The first half of him balancing both worlds is very interesting. I also thought it was intriguing to make him as unlikable as he was. Sometimes that backfires but making him miserable throughout was a interesting choice. I also thought the feel and tone worked really well.

Bad: The fights were poorly drawn and hard to tell what was happening. The last two issues were a mess, and the "twist" ending was really badly done IMO. I also thought it began to drag around the time the "revelation" came.

Overall this was a interesting sci-fi, mystery, type of book. I'd go with a 3 out of 5 just because it did make me want to finish, I just wish the ending was way better.
