I love Sons of Anarchy the show. It's fun, exciting, over the top, insane drama at it's finest. Who knew I liked a show about a motorcycle gang?
This story mostly focuses on Tig and him getting over the death of his daughter when a new, young, girl comes into the mix that brings back his past. Overall this is for the sons of anarchy fans. While little stretched and very little stakes I'd still give it a 3 for being very entertaining.

Pluto remains one of the most interesting and well written series I've read in awhile.
This volume decides to focus on more Robots. So we get a little bit into Hercules and Atom. Hercules is a fighter and Atom is a young boy looking robot and they begin to piece together the crimes that are happening to their friends along with detective Gesicht. However, when the creature/robot/monster is back and takes on another one of their companions things start to get darker for our heroes. Who is this thing killing all of them? Why? And what has happened to detective Gesicht to make him forget his own past?
Good: The storyline is still well throughout, and the characters are extremely well done, with perfect tone and atmosphere. I love the dialog, and sometimes it's profound to the point I try to gather my thoughts on a particular scene for a few minutes. The ending builds up to something new, bigger, and different than I expected and introduces the final piece to the puzzle.
Bad: The start is a little bit of a drag. I felt the first two chapters started off slow and kind of was losing a bit of interest.
This still remains very high quality and worth checking out. While I didn't love it as much as volume 1 I still thought it was fantastic. A 4.5 out of 5.

Thing is I like Ms. Marvel. She's pretty badass, she got some good jokes, her family mayham is fun, but I just don't love her solo books? This isn't to say G. Willow Wilson is a bad writer or anything, I actually think she's very solid, I just don't seem to connect to a lot of the plot or feel compelled by any of the fights/villains.
Saying that this volume is Ms. marvel working out her duel life. She's dealing with being an avenger but also trying her best to live a normal kid life. She becomes jealous of her best friend dating another girl, and then decides to take on the world by having copies of herself to take her place when she can't be everywhere at the same time. Sounds like a bad idea huh?
Good: Love the art still, think it's super fun and bright and everything is cheerful which I enjoy. I also love Kamala because she's a great coming of age hero who deals with a lot for being so young and coming from a VERY different background. I also enjoyed the stuff with her family and friends in here.
Bad: I just didn't care about the 2nd half. Whenever series gets to much on the action it loses me. The fights are never very interesting, the villains lame, and I just don't connect with any of that. I also thought some characters like Iron-man act a bit out of character here.
Overall it remains this series is very fun. For a younger audience this is perfect comic to get in to. I still like Kamala a lot, but not the stories as much. So for that I'll give it a 3 out of 5.

This was pretty damn good. A more focused story on one main character and his life as a sidekick looking into the world of superheroes.
So there's a murder. Then another. And another. It keeps going and going and now it's caught national attention. At the time that is happening a new kid, nicknamed alter boy, joins the Confession! Together they begin to work together. Think of it like Batman and Robin. By the time they make a name for themselves this murdering of young people has gone on long enough and the city can't stand it anymore. They want answers. The mayor begins to blame Superheroes for not helping and BAM it's starting a war between regular beings and superheroes.
Good: It amazes me this is early 1990's because the art is freaking great. I also really love Alterboys inner thoughts. The way he couldn't figure out what was right and wrong, his past with his father, trying to trust his mentor, and trying to do what he thinks it's good. Not to mention the overarching themes and plotting is all top notch. This was engrossing, well done, and well paced.
Bad: The last story is kind of out of nowhere, and boring. It doesn't do anything to add to the rest of this story.
Overall I loved this for 90% of it. There's a few luls and the last issue is kind of a pointless issue but still solid shit. I'm going with a 4 out of 5 for this awesome volume.

The main story in this is really strong. This is the best volume so far.
So Blue Beard and Goldie are knocking boots (that means fucking) and they devise a plan to kill Bigby and Snow White. It's actually a half way decent plan aswell. With it all starting with a huge chase, a bunch of brutal and fucked up fights, and a ending that leaves this series up to a lot of possibilities. Oh also there's a little story at the end of the book.
Good: The whole main focus of this book is great. Each character has motives and they feel very flushed out. The fights are exciting and the end result is both brutal and well drawn. Art is once again great, and the pacing is the best the series has had so far.
Bad: That last extra chapter is really really boring. Just a side story that ends in a "meh" way that let me down compared to the rest.
I really enjoyed this volume, and think it's the best of the first 3. I'd go with a 4 out of 5 on this one because for the most part it's great except that side story.

This is by far the best volume of the series.
So we take a break from the ultra violent stuff and focus more on the two main characters as kids. We learn more about the structure of the world they live in, the characters, what Twlights are, and why someone loses a eye and the other nearly dying all the time. The childhood story of the two leads are also met with them going around the city kind building up some big war coming to them. The end results not looking good for our heroes.
Good: I loved the backstory. Tragic in so many ways, but also the quiet moments are the ones that hit the most. Also the fights, while minimal, are still highly entertaining. I also thought the end set up big events coming nicely.
Bad: Some of the shots make it hard to follow and confusing but I assume that's because we're following the backstory in the head of a person and not played out, and so it's bits and pieces.
Overall this is easily the best volume of Gangsta. It's pushing story before action, and that's the best approach a series should go for. A 3.5 out of 5 but I'll bump it to a 4.

This was a lot of fun.
So spin-offs of series can sometimes be better than the series they came from. After diving down into bad area for harbinger after volume 5 I kind of gave up on Valiant. However, Secret Weapons was not only refreshing but a ton of fun. The losers, the outsides, the psiots that got away from Toyo's psycho ass are still on the run. However, what happens when a creature starts hunting them down. Some familiar faces from the other series bring this into a new chapter, a more runaway/survival style chapter and easily my favorite thing from the Harbinger line.
Good: All the kids getting along worked well. The dialog was natural and super fun. A few forced moments didn't stop this from working as a whole.I also loved how each power was used well for each character instead of focused on one. The ending leaves a lot of awesome ways to go as this is basically the outsiders, the lost, children who just happened to be psiots.
Bad: Some forced political moments felt little odd and I also thought some of the art didn't gel well, especially with the fighting.
Overall I liked this a lot. Easy, fun, and well drawn for the most part, Secret Weapons should be the series you check out after being let down by Harbinger. I feel this is what THAT series promised to do but failed. A 4 out of 5.

Ouch this was a miss for me almost completely.
So Youngblood is all about heroes from the 90's being annoyed these new heroes are coming in taking their name. See, the series wants you to know this used to be a thing. You don't technically have to read the original to understand what is happening (Though I'll get to that) but it helps because it fills up why there's so much animosity in the new group called "Youngblood" and these kids/adults teaming up to face the world of bad guys and horrors in their first step to being a newly formed team both old and new.
Good: I enjoy the art. It's simple, clean, and bright. Also thought some of the dialog was pretty funny, I especially like The Thing--I mean the big rock dude.
Bad: Everything feels like you SHOULD know these people in the original series before enjoying this. The big focus here is the new kids wanting to now be "Youngblood" but the old members saying hell no (well one in particular) and there being a big fight between the group. The villains are forgettable (like seriously, I can't remember them) and the pacing is a drag to get through with heavy exposition and length conversation that goes nowhere.
Sadly, this is the opposite of a book I recently finished "Secret Weapons" where that was about teenagers surviving and trying to make it, this was a boring attempt to create a new superhero team that I give zero shits about. While pretty it failed to give me a compelling story. A 2 out of 5.

I never read a main hulk series. This is my first. I'm digging this one! Anyone have more suggestions?
Bruce Jones decides to do what I would love to do with the hulk. Make him a monster. Well, you're sitting there saying "He's always a monster!" Well yes, but here, he's fucking scary. That's something missing in a lot of moments with the hulk. He isn't that "scary" but this series decides to rely on only showing the big green creature when he must, as a scare factor, or as the monster he is.
Bruce is on the run after a child is killed during one of his actions. We don't know if it's true, but it's a great build to it. You can see the Incredible Hulk movie with Ed Nortan took a lot from this. Running from the military, trying to survive, keeping himself away from people, this Bruce isn't whiny or scared, he just wants to keep people safe.
Good: The story is pretty damn fun. Watching Bruce deal with the monster inside him but also the people around him is great. I love the moody atmosphere, and dark moments, but not so dreadful it feels boring. Also everyone betrays everyone, people come back from the dead, and the green hulking monster fucks shit up.
Bad: Some of the art makes it mixed for emotion. I couldn't tell when characters were sad or mad sometimes. Also the ending begins to get a little to "Spy-like" and everyone betrays everyone.
Overall this is really solid fun. Good enough to make me want to continue this run and see if it keeps up. I like Bruce Jones style! A 3.5 out of 5. (I'll bump it to a 4 for it was a surprise.)

Love the character but couldn't get in to this one at all. Normally I'd write a full review but short on time so for now it's a nice looking book, but very very very long dialog boxes that really feel like the author wanted to write a book more than a comic.
